Okay, this is a weird one. The first 15–16 eps were one of the most enjoyable eps in the C-drama land, ever. I loved everything about it. But after that, it started to fumble: weird editing with things happening off-screen, the long CP separation with a lot of side characters' storylines (although all the cast did a very good job), and how am I supposed to believe that FCY is an army leader if I only ever saw her with her 4/5 followers? One thing that was consistent throughout the show was the sets, camerawork & cinematography, which were one of the best I've ever seen. But in the end, the highest score I could give was a solid 8 out of 10.

So Yifan never said I love you to Sang Yan. I'm not saying she doesn't love him but I am confused did I miss it…
I'm pretty sure she did, maybe not in a direct way. The ones that I remember:

1. The day they got together, after SY confessed to her that he still only like her, she said to SY: "If you think saying these words are too pretentious, then let me say them from now on. But, right now it's a little hard for me to say them cause right now we're mutually in love"
2. When she found SY tin box, she said to him: "I want to live six years longer than you. That way, I can love you for six more years."

The one at sang yan's room in his house 🥹🤌🏻 Every scene of Sang Yan in his room was filled with sadness,…
I'm pretty sure in Chinese culture, it's a form of address that conveys familiarity and affection, a way to express closeness or endearment. That's why Sang Yan was so happy WYF called him A Yan.

The first frost was those kind of drama that appears once every few years. The kind that made your heart felt empty after finishing it. Thank you First Frost for the beautiful memory. I believe in their world, SY and WYF, right now and after, living their live happily.
Guess now I'm gonna have to read the novel, at least when I'm ready and no longer felt empty lol.

First Frost are a little bit more "heavy" than Hidden Love, but theres still a lot of wholesome stuff. You could see some examples here, but warning, its a spoiler:

None, there were a few men who had a crush on FL, but FL never give them a chance. In FL eyes, theres only ML, and vice versa. She did break her promise and hurt ML in the process, but she had her reason (a traumatic one) and she acknowledged later that she regret her decision back then.
There is SML, a friend of ML, but his story are with the SFL, FL best friend.

I really regret watching this...............I should have just waited until the drama ended, then started watching. Two days ago, I thought 16 episodes was enough for me to start slowly. Now the wait for episode 17 is killing me lol.
On When the Phone Rings Jan 5, 2025
Just finished it, good performance from the cast, especially the main lead with a strong chemistry. But imo awful writing & directing especially the last few eps. So much scene just didn't make any sense at all and the dialogue/plot was also quite cringe. Even so, it was entertaining enough, a 7 from me.
On You Are My Lover Friend Oct 9, 2024
Just finished watching. I really like it, IMO it was better than most recent C-Drama, actually this drama was the only one I finished in recent time. Maybe because I'm not a fan of cringe romance stuff, this drama just right up my alley. IMO it's on the same group such as Hidden Love, You're My Glory, etc. Not better, just the same type of drama.
I don't mind the slow burn romance, although I think it would be better with less number of episodes. The romance was great, solid couple who communicate with each other. The supporting cast was good, the mothers were hilarious, the married friends were fun (mostly), the camera works were very very good, the OST were beautiful.
Now the bad, the "villains" was just there, the show didn't even show their end, just some dialogue mentioning them and some text. Except for Zhou Mo, I felt really sad for the guy.
I recommend this to those who is looking for a slower slice of life romance drama with minimal conflict between the leads. But for those who used to faster romance or high emotional drama probably wouldn't like it.
You know the feeling of emptiness after you've finished watching your favorite show? Well, I'm feeling empty now.
On Story of Kunning Palace Dec 1, 2023
I just finished watching it, and imo it's quite good, the setting, plot, character relation, the lore etc is very well done. It's basically a good story of redemption, with a very satisfying FL character growth. BUT at most i could only give this series a 7 because of the ML character.

I suppose this is just a matter of personal taste, but when others probably will say ML is a character with flaws, i would say he's a walking red flag. Sure, he's got a very tragic past, but it shouldn't justify his action. The guy is controlling, jealous and had a low self esteem. Even at the happy end part of the series, i was terrified to see how he treat his son, even if it was disguised as a comedic moment. The ML is an extreme version of the early 2000 ML with all his wall pinning, hand grabbing and forced kisses.

All in all, imo it's a good series, just maybe not great for those who is looking for a fluffy romance and a nice male lead.

Yes, very sad :(... It's a lot of fun.
I don't think theres only 5 eps though. Based on the preview for eps 5, Director Shin Won Ho going to be the guest for next week. Then from episode 2 (musical preview), there's another 2 guest, probably Yunbok & Hongdo, and Jung Moon Sung (Do Jaehak) also going to be a guest on the show. I really doubt all of those guest going to fit in 1 episode only. Hope there's going to be more eps, really like the show.
On Hospital Playlist Season 2 Sep 17, 2021
Really sad it's over. I think this season there's a bit too much emphasis on the patients compare to HP1, some very good and meaningful, while some felt a bit dry. Nevertheless, it's a wonderful drama, and i'm going to miss it like crazy.
I still feel the last episode was kinda anticlimatic albeit still a very good episode. At least all the couple got their happy ending, somewhat. IkSong couple still make me giddy. Songhwa voice sound so beautiful in Ikjun ears, while Junwan "died". Or the difference between camping scene in ep7 and ep12, there's only one tent now.
Finger crossed, maybe sometimes later, for season 3. At least there's still the variety show “Mountain Village Playlist” on October 8.

You really shouldn't tried to tied up this drama with GGS1. Because this drama is not a sequel, but a spin off.…
Yes, in the novel, it was e-sports (moba, battle royale, etc), in GGS1 it was changed to CTF, in GGS2 it became robot combat competition. Probably because it was more "visual" than CTF.

You really shouldn't tried to tied up this drama with GGS1. Because this drama is not a sequel, but a spin off. Many people whose hoping for a continuation have been disappointed, hence they dropped this drama, which i think is a shame because this drama is AWESOME.
The two drama timeline are mostly parallel, with GGS2 story started a few years before GGS1, before Ai Qing join SP, even before KK even existed. And GGS2 story ended after the events in GGS1.
LINA GRANGER already wrote a great summary about the lore that tied up two drama if you want to read it https://kisskh.at/58373-my-dear#comment-5441947

But if you really only want to watch HSY and TN continuation from GGS1, then i suggest you to just watch the last episode of GGS2.
There's a bit of crossover stuff here and there though, like when TN reject HSY proposal, TN speak to Wu Bai about it, etc.
IMO, GGS2 is a very enjoyable drama, best i've ever seen in a long time, but you need to detach yourself from GGS1 first to be able to fully enjoy it.

I get that this story is different from GGS1 but like why r they hinting a love triangle between the leads and…
I think it's more of a past feeling and regret. His daughter later lived with his ex-wife, thats when Solo started to seriously considering Ai Qing. But when he find out that Ai Qing is with Wu Bai, he stopped any thoughts or feelings toward her and just considered her as one of his "brother".
You could see this bit as Solo personal point of view, he never talk to anyone about it (except Bao Na) and he never showed his feeling toward Ai Qing.
In the end, Solo is a stand up guy, loyal and reliable, but unfortunately a little tragic. But in the end of the series, his friends set him up on a blind date, so i guess it was hinted as some kind of an open ending for him with some hope of happiness.
