I’m so glad I gave this drama a chance! At first, I didn’t find the male lead conventionally handsome, but as the story unfolded and I got to see the depth of his character, I completely fell for him. His talent is what truly makes him attractive — the way he embodied the role was so captivating. I’m honestly glad I didn’t let that first impression cloud my judgment. And hearing that so many people don’t think he’s that handsome? That makes me feel bad, because he really deserves more appreciation. You just have to give him a chance!
Now I’m a full-blown fan of the incredibly talented LYN. The romance in this drama became one of my favorites — the chemistry was intense, and the intimate scenes were done so beautifully. I love when a show leans into sensuality with intention and emotion, and this one absolutely nailed it. My only small complaint is that a few episodes dragged a bit for me, so I don’t remember all the details — but overall, the connection between the leads left a lasting impression.
Why do I sense this will be a sad ending? With only 7 episodes left (after 29 teaser), why do I sense there is no more room for the pregnancy plot (in the novel) and yes I understand not every show aligns with the novel.. but with that being said, since the pregnancy was pivotal in her livelihood.. and if this doesn’t play out, then I assume she may pass away from the poison? Regardless, I have enjoyed it thus far and LXY’s acting.
After seeing the new trailer for upcoming episodes, what is up with 3rd prince and the Empress? Relationship? Family ties? Also, whose bridal suite do you think JTH is observing? Also, there is a post on Weibo saying the "explosion" scene is JTH and SZY at the temple looking for an antidote for JTH and there is no actual antidote.. something happens "an explosion" and JTH thinks SZY is dead but ends up finding him again and runs towards him.. not sure how accurate, but if this is true.. any predictions? Sad ending? Was hoping they would pull the pregnancy plot.
Novel readers: after watching episode 15 and seeing the trailers for 18 and bed scene on Weibo, do you think this will follow the story and she becomes pregnant? How accurate has the show been compared to the novel so far?
