For the romance that’s great because I dislike multiple love interests (only when romance is the focus, i do like concubine drama lol). Slow burn is much better than fast paced too. And I’m glad the FL is strong and smart like that, thanks for answering :D:D
I haven’t started but I wasn’t sure if i wanted to. I AM interested in harem drama and all that, and was wondering if the plot is fast paced. I’m not the greatest fan of romance, so would u say the romance is a smaller side plot? Also is the FL strong? The tag says strong female lead but sometimes that’s misleading so

I see some people kind of put off with the shidi-shixiong thing. Just personally for me, I don’t view their dynamic differently cuz they aren’t blood brothers or brothers raised together for life. I still find their relationship flirtatious and fun. I mean, as someone who has read countless shizun x disciple stories, a few shidi-shixiong stories, and 1 shimei-shixiong story.... ig it makes sense that i feel this way

I don’t mean to degrade your opinion, I just think your wording and meaning are wrong. You shouldn’t connect BL to gay porn. The way you’ve said this really sounds homophobic. BL is a romance between 2 men, while gay porn is a sexual relationship between 2 men.
I agree that storytelling is the important aspect in any drama! For example, the BL vibes in Guardian was strong, but I still gave it a low rating due to its crazy storyline (personal opinion). If “Word of Honor” had a bad plot, I would have dropped it long ago!
You’ve also said that “gay love should be as normalized as heterosexual love”. I agree, and I would love for that to happen too, but a lot of people in the world cannot accept that yet.
However, there’s plenty of romance lovers who like to rant on heterosexual dramas. How come I have not seen you on the heterosexual drama forums, stating that “people should stop raving about the heterosexual romance, and just go to pornhub”? The fact that you said this here, on a BL adaptation forum, makes it sound homophobic.
I agree that some fans tend to over-sexualize this, and do rave a bit much. BL adaptation dramas have only really started to air, and I can’t blame it for being popular. I just hope people don’t rant too much about this because I don’t want to see this drama get taken down, or censored before it is finished airing.
