I agree. There wasn't much conflict, aside from miscommunication between the leads, that drove the plot. I didn't feel particularly engaged with the grandmother's death. The relationship reveal to the family was interesting, but after that, not much happens.

I am thoroughly enjoying Kang Byul's portrayal of the Drama Queen Skank, haha. The writing and acting of the character has been super entertaining. I like how she is the primary antagonist, but she doesn't have wealth, connections, and blackmail to get her way. Rather, she is an expert at emotional manipulation and lying.

It did seem a bit more than morning sickness... I wonder if there's going to be some sort of complication. Judging from the imaging at the obgyn, the baby looks to be in the early second trimester of development. I'm not an expert, so if somebody has a better guess, please correct me.

The miscarriage risk significantly drops after this point, but it's never zero.

Susan, I'm just a mid thirty year old that finds high school stuff boring. I'm pretty sure most people age out of that sort of drama! This one was a bit strange. I like the adult stuff, thought the early timeshift segments would come back to support the more adult material, but that never happened. They just kept going back to HS level teenage drama via timeshifts and never doing much with the adult aspects. <3

I appreciate your review! I share many of the same opinions. Your final thoughts were well put. Mid-drama, formulaic, and falls off mid-way after an intriguing premise. The time flashback after eps 8, 9(?) territory bored me to no end.

This one was another good premise with poor ending/delivery. Maybe I too have watched too many kdramas. Idk. avg 7/10 rating imo. I guess I was teased with an adult themed show with the beginning, but it kept pulling to a young audience theme with the flashbacks and lack of adult character progression.

I largely agree and feel that we are in the minority with this opinion.

the scammer family vs weakened super hero family was interesting. The outsider helping the family get their powers back was interesting. But, that wraps up around ep 7 leaving five episodes of extremely mediocre romance and a will he won't he die in a fire question mark. It was boring and a real let down for the potential.

I can't agree more about the ML character. The guy is a loser. mopey, cant communicate, and has a list of psych issues a km long. Women don't find that attractive. I like romance, but not when it gets shoehorned into the story line like this. What a disappointment.

the strongly negative ratings are a bit undeserved on this one. it's certainly not the best, but I would still put it a bit above average.

one of those dramas to remind one that it's really okay to drop a show if it's no longer fun or interesting. I checked out mentally mid way through ep 8 and should have walked away for good.

I like the scenes with both leads together. Unfortunately, the main storyline hasn't exactly captured me and the main leads haven't gotten much time together.

it's definitely meant to be comedic, so over the top that it blends into satire. the scene when bodyguard instantly changes her clothes to club attire was hilarious.

they may not be student teacher any.ore, but she definitely still acts like it. Was definitely a bit uncomfortable throughout their scenes.

seemed like him giving her a needed reality check. He's smart enough to understand that she was opposing his hiring.

that's decent for the first two eps. double digits is really good, but rarer. good shows will typically see higher ratings over time as they get more hype and social media attention.

also, that doesn't include streaming numbers and is only the korean audience. some shows are more popular in foreign markets, which doesn't get captured here.

Maybe a sign of good acting when he comes off as really natural? I think he's doing a very good job so far.

I've been doing this too. Watch 10 eps over a couple days, then put it on the back-burner until another 10 or so aired. There are some plot lines that don't really interest me, so having a bunch of episodes makes it more interesting to watch the stories/characters of interest (ML + FL relationship, ML younger sister, FL+step sis).

The ML's step mom's issues and romantic issues, FL's father's financial issues, and 2ML's family drama hasn't interested me. That's probably 50% of the screen time that can be fast-forwarded/jumped through.

the only defense of the rating is that the tags and marketing do not match the actual content of the show. historical sagyek drama, sure. romance, comedy? 6 episodes so far and none of that.

I agree. I'm not going to say this is a *bad* show, but I'm tired of the increasingly common mismarketing of shows as something they are not.

I'm here for the adult main leads. Hoping that is closer to episode 5 rather than 15 or 20.
