i am amazed papa woo is reacting exactly like my acquaintance's opinion last week
(1) he's concerned about junho's intentions to youngwoo
(2) he wanted to meet him eagerly, to see if he's really good
(3) he isn't hysterical about the kiss

I hope junho secretly met with her dad when youngwoo mentioned that her dad wanted to him, for papa woo's peace of mind.

I’m not assuming all parents are good. Hence my statement “No sane parents…” I’m only referring to those who really act as parents, those who pursue the wellness of their child.

Those who mistreat their disabled child for their own benefit are nothing but trash. They don’t deserve to called as parents.

Ofc the law has flaws, we even saw them in this drama.

Anyways, my friend’s point is that she believes her consent for the relationship is crucial to safeguard her child from bad relationships. I see nothing wrong with that, she’s just a normal protective parent. But to be clear, she wants to relay that she doesn’t speak for the whole community. These are simply her personal beliefs.

You don’t have to worry. Because, based on my experience, the parents or guardians of disabled people are very picky to the bone. This acquaintance of mine even limits the people who enter her house for her child is not comfortable with crowds and strangers. Her top priority will always be her child’s well-being.

No sane parent/guardian would give the consent for the relationship if the guy’s intentions and behavior towards the disabled child are still questionable, or that if the child is still not completely comfortable with the guy. The purpose of consent for the relationship is to ensure that the disabled child is safe and sound with the boyfriend. Thus, they would only give the consent once they are sure that everything is fine, including their child’s will to engage in such things.

I don’t think it’s unnecessary. It’s natural for parents or guardians of the disabled persons to be overprotective, especially in terms of romantic relationships since it isn’t easy to determine if one is genuine or not.

i put her words wrongly, my bad. the consent she’s talking about is for the relationship not for sex. she wanted to know if the bf’s intentions are pure before giving consent for the relationship. once she approves the relationship, they are free to do everything. i guess she’s being protective.

but honestly, her child has the freedom to do anything. it’s up to her child if she’d obey her mother’s wishes of introducing the bf early in the relationship. one of the reasons why she won’t take legal charges against the defendant, it happened because it’s her child’s choice after all.

she isn’t referring to the consent of the intercourse but the consent of relationship. like, “i see that she’s your boyfriend. he seems to be good, you’re free to do whatever you want.” and “i see she’s your boyfriend, he seems to have bad intentions. so don’t date him”. the purpose of consent of the relationship is to gatekeep her disabled child from bad guys.

about the jail, she said the defendant didn’t ask for the consent of the relationship with the mother before the deed. and she considers the deed as a very serious matter when it comes to her disabled child., because her child is very precious to her. thus she equates the lack of consent of the relationship to the defendant’s bad intentions, which can be the grounds for prison, according to her.

i know we can’t compare the two cases. but since she mentioned the guardian consent, i got curious about her opinion about different kinds of romantic advances in relation with guardian should be aware of the relationship or not.

and i put here as a perspective on that scene.

she explained that she doesn’t see the defendant as a villain if his intentions are good. if she was the girl’s mother in the show, she wouldn’t take it to the court, especially that her child loved the boy. but since the show took the case to the court, her personal grounds would be the lack of guardian awareness of that kind of relationship. tho it wasn’t a grave mistake, it’s still a mistake which she considers as improper.

i think she simply put importance on the guardian awareness and consent with everything her disabled child does out of love and concerns.

i think it isn’t about the mental age. more like the mother’s concerns for her disabled child. a mother’s care for her disabled child is much much greater compared when the child is non-disabled. it’s safer that the mother knows that her child is alr in that stage of relationship for medical reasons. it’s also a way for the mother to see if her bf is genuine or not. the mother would be at peace if she knows her child is indeed in good hands. and i think it’s the responsibility of the bf to present himself to the mother before the deed, proving that his intentions are pure.

but as my acquaintance said, it’s not a grave mistake if her child’s bf didn’t do this earlier. it’s just that she prefers to know the bf sooner than later to ease her motherly worries.

she doesn’t like crowds so she’s preparing and calming herself for those situations

so i know someone who’s a mother of a pwd, she also watches this show. i asked her opinion about the case.

she said if the defendant truly loved the girl and wanted to do the deed with her, he should’ve first asked the girl’s mother for permission to date her child, and they shouldn’t do it in motels (it kinda implies he lacks respect for the girl). because the girl is disabled, the guardian’s consent is important at all times. he deserves to be in jail for that reason.

tho she said that the mother was too harsh IF the love between the girl and the defendant was indeed real.

i asked her what about the kiss, if junho also needed the father’s consent. she replied not necessarily. because kisses and the deed are two different matters. parent’s awareness that her child may do the deed because she’s in a relationship is important. because doing the deed can heavily affect the girl in the future, physically and emotionally. in that way, parents wouldn’t be clueless in case something is wrong with their child because of the deed. they would know how to handle them. while kissing doesn’t have that kind of serious after effects so consent is not necessarily needed.

the scene where junho and minwoo are talking while eating and just before he confesses:

i think many may have misunderstood that junho was doubting his feelings. he never doubted his feelings (he had said many times his feelings aren't temporary), i think he's sure and fully aware about it in ep5 drunk scene. his hesitations came from his worries. because having a relationship with wyw comes with a great responsibility for him. it means protecting her from the society stigma, handling her when she's having an episode, fully understanding her thoughts, and being able to communicate with her, etc. basically, loving and caring her in every way. it could be compared to the responsibilities that come with marriage.

he knows his love could last forever, but he also knows there are many things, other than love, needed for their relationship to work like patience, determination, brave heart and etc. he was questioning himself if he could really have those for a long time. because if he couldn't, it's better to not start a relationship with her at all. so that she wouldn't be hurt or mistreated if ever he gives up in the middle.

but minwoo's words, there's no need to worry since your feelings aren't temporary, gave him confidence. he now believes that he wouldn't give up easily whenever problems come to them because his love for her is very strong. he'd do his utmost best to cherish and protect her everytime.

wonder why uk never called mudeok as naksu again after their partnership, even when they are alone despite that he knows she’s indeed naksu.

I don't think it's Minwoo, considering he's overly keen on fair employment and he really wants to be successful which isn't matched with Sumi's description of her son. So I don't think he's an elite. Also when he saw Sumi, he didn't act weird.

I understand everyone's concerns. I guess I just wanted to reduce the negativity. My comment works on both sides anyways. While I said we shouldn't blame those who are disappointed, we shouldn't also stop those who are disappointed with others' negative feedback. But I guess this kind of gap is unavoidable, thanks to the leak. :\\

Don’t undermine the people who might not watch S2 because of the impending FL change. We watch dramas for various reasons: for the plot; romance; or to support the actors. Thus, their disappointment on the show is valid. Besides, one of the main goals of dramas is to please the audience. So if some aren’t enjoying it anymore for whatever reasons, they are free to drop it, don’t blame them for that. Try to encourage them in watching S2 but still respect their opinions.

Just watched ep6. The show is misleading us. Taesan CEO might not be WYW's mother.

My theory is that Junho is her son and Junho has an immediate family with autism. Taesan CEO in the last scene of ep6 was fixing things like WYW, she might have adapted that habit from her child. Because if she's really WYW's mother, how could she do things like her when she never spent time with her for she supposedly abandoned her when she was young? That child could also be dead, thus she was looking sadly to the other mother and daughter customers. That child may be the one whose born out of wedlock. Junho could be rebelling against her mother because of her. And Junho is very fond of WYW right from the start because of her.

Notice how Junho was already careful on their first meeting. He avoided touching her without her permission. He acted that way because he knows how to interact with them. And he can tell by first glance that she has ASD because he already knows someone like her. Hence he instinctly helped her. His first sentence to her was "The doors are confusing, right?" Isn't his approach is a bit weird? It was too friendly and babylike. Also, he voluntarily guided her find the office, which was uncommon for some ordinary passerby. Also in that scene, it was seen that Myungseok's office wasn't his destination. He simply helped and led the way. That's rare for their first meeting if Junho was really clueless about her.
