"This is one of the best historical-fantasy series" - top 10 lie of 2022
okay according to you, there are better xianxia i’m not aware of. this argument could’ve been easily settled if you introduced those “better’ cdramas instead of degrading alchemy. you should’ve given some recommendations to cure my ignorance instead of calling me racist. like how does it make racist really? in my knowledge, racism is nonsensical hating something due to cultural differences. but i never hated cdramas, i just used them as a reference, which was a poor decision based on your arguments.

btw you’ve stayed long enough in this comment section yet i haven’t seen you mention those “good” dramas. where are they really? while those “bad” dramas with high mdl ratings are also present in other cdrama recommendation articles. i’m out.

"This is one of the best historical-fantasy series" - top 10 lie of 2022
my opinion is coming from what i've watched. i used mdl because we're literally here. is it so bad that i prefer alchemy over those dramas i've seen? those three are what i discovered after exploring english written asian drama blogs, articles, and sites since i can't read chinese. i'm sorry that my browser didn't show the better ones.

and i'm neither generalizing nor bashing, i even said they're good since i enjoyed them. is it right to call me racist because of my preferences?

now I'm not interested with the better chinese xianxia shows you mentioned, even though i like this genre, because on how unwelcoming you are. you just destroyed my interest on cdramas. i rather stick on kdramas if i’ve to deal with people like you in that community. i’m not sinophobic, i’m just keeping my environment peaceful. i have nothing against chinese dramas and culture, i used to enjoy cdramas when i’m not in the mood for korean ones.

Lmao just found an other sinophobic person
i’m just recommending. when did i become like that?

lol those three are highly rated here in mdl (9, 8.9, 8.7). liking kdramas over cdramas is racist? that’s called preferences. and i never said cdramas are bad. they are good. it just that i preferred alchemy. well it’s merely my personal opinion. it won’t affect you and cdramas in any way. so rest your case.

But if it's Daeho F4, the Four Season, should be Cho Yeon (spring), Dang Gu (summer), Yul (autumn), and Jang Wook…
it'll be interesting if naksu/mudeok is a phenomenon like a solar eclipse. her eyes kinda looks like a blue eclipse
On Alchemy of Souls Jun 21, 2022
as someone who enjoyed few wuxia/xianxia, cfans should accept that this is a good show with similar elements of that genre. this is what you have been wanting for years (a popular chinese youtube drama reviewer once said that this genre have fallen to its poorest quality). so instead of bashing, watch it you'll enjoy for sure.

hahaha this isn't a walmart version. i've watched some wuxia/xianxia (untamed, ten miles, ashes of love) those were highly praised, right? and imo this is better. in fact, when i started alchemy of souls, i thought this must be what the cdramas are missing. the fight scenes, no dragging of stupid problems and independent female leads.

I would not say this is a very good drama for me, but I would not rate it this so bad. haters must be working…

SO what's happen after? there is a 3 book? ending?? HOW THEY SOLVE THIS??
unfortunately, there’s no available english translation of the book at the moment. that’s why, i’m disappointed on the series turned out. it was an opportunity to popularize this book internationally., but they wasted it. even the book 1 (the fluffiest among the three) has its own beautiful moments. it’s focused on how max and naih, the new transferees, break the shitty standards of the school (bullying and superiority). and how deib slowly get unconsciously attracted to his worst enemy, while courting someone else. plus there’s a hidden psycho who was obsessed with deib. there’s also a mystery about max identity, she, who never raises her voice, was able to chase away the gangsters by her presence alone. actually that’s not the only mystery surrounding max: her family, her husband (?) HAHAHAHA, her weird personality and her connection with randall, the owner’s son of the rival school.

SO what's happen after? there is a 3 book? ending?? HOW THEY SOLVE THIS??
yes it’s a long dramatic novel, not complaining tho. well can’t say he “fell” but rather he was attracted because the girl had similarities with max and it happened when he was avoiding max. so you can say he saw max in the girl because he misses max.

the one who was supposed to seduce max died (took the bullet for her) in one of the encounters. his dying wish was to donate his heart to deib. that’s how deib survived.

in the book, there were four old female judges who manage the rules and punishments of nk. one was max’ grandmother (she was dethroned of her position and replaced by another because of political reasons discussed in another book). another one was the twin sister of deib’s great grandma. yeah deib has nk blood. his great grandma formulated the laws. but this grandma and deib’s family ran off to the ph when deib’s older sister (second lead’s wife but not present in the series) was born. because the grandma didn’t want the older sis to do the military training for girls (it’s deadly). the twin sister replaced deib’s grandma. the twin sister overruled the punishment for the reason that no one was capable of succeeding max’ position yet. other than protecting her family, she was also the leader of the nation’s army. plus that army protested against the punishment.

deib didn’t know max was alive and the grieving part was such a tearjerker. deib became medically depressed. he was also present on max’ trial where it’s said death was the sentence. he kneeled in front of the judges and questioned the decision (it’s not allowed).

“Do you own death? Nobody owns death. Nobody owns life. Please let her live. She's the bravest girl I've ever known. And I'm sure she's going to have a great life. Please don't take her life away. We need her...the world needs someone like her.” - deib

max didn’t return to deib until five years later. one of the conditions of the lighter punishment is completing a dangerous mission in the states. when she came back, there were some push and pull. deib was kinda inferior of loving max. he thought she was capable by herself that she didn’t need him by her side unless she wanted to. what sealed the deal was if deib doesn’t want max, she would be in an arranged marriage with her childhood bestie for political reasons. that’s the end of book 3. they got married with a son hahaha. the surviving enemies was life imprisoned in nk for killing the head of max’ family.

the book 4 is underworks and i’m so excited for that. it’s always my pleasure to discuss everything about this book. although i’m disappointed the series changed everything but the name of the characters.

Title He’s into Her Season 2 Spoiler
SO what's happen after? there is a 3 book? ending?? HOW THEY SOLVE THIS??
everything i’ve said was resolved at the end of book 2. deib searched for her but failed. he then locked himself inside his bedroom for 100 days, sending voice messages to max everyday, basically begging her to come back. but he was graduating at that time so his family dragged him out. then he slowly became himself again but he still misses her a lot. max with a peaceful mind came back on his graduation day. they argued (max forgot the ily of all the things she had to tell him haha), kissed and made up on the graduation ball. btw max had a written reply to every vm deib sent.

with the second lead’s issue, the fl knew and made him realize that the second lead didn’t love her anymore, it’s all guilt because the breakup took everything from max. her grandfather had high academic expectations, but she failed to manage her priorities. she practiced hard to win the second lead’s dream billiards stick, forgetting her school responsibilities. so max was kicked out of the household. she was on her own since then. her family continued to send her money but she refused to use it. she said she was ashamed and wanted to learn from her mistake. the second lead then had an unexpected baby so he married his girlfriend whom he realized he truly loves after max knocked some sense on him.

but there’s also book 3!! it’s an action romance. basically there’s someone threatening deib’s family like guns and bombs. strangely, whenever something bad will happen, max’ family was also there. they’re both very influential families. so max, being a superwoman she is, tries to protect all of them. because of max family continuous meddling with the enemy’s attacks, the enemies decided to kill max’ family first before deib’s. the enemy was sneaky, they came prepared. they had people to break their relationship to somehow distract max. someone would seduce deib, as well as max. the one who was missioned to seduce max fell for her in reality. deib was physically swayed by the seducer which led to a breakup. deib was then avoiding max because he was physically attracted to her way too much. so he avoided her because he knew they were too young (19-20 y/o) for the deed. the seducer drugged deib and gave him a **, max witnessed that and broke up with him.
after the breakup, deib’s heart condition relapsed. max became full-blown on hunting the enemies (they killed max grandfather) as a result, max killed someone which was against max’ organization that they have been serving for generations with her family. max was punished of death penalty. but don’t worry that’s not the end haha.

the organization i’m talking about is a government. it was revealed that max and her family were north koreans. in the book, nk citizens, especially girls, would undergo intensive military training at a very early age, to be able to protect their families and the country. max family was prominent in nk. they held the military department of the country. so yeah max had the highest military ranking and her main responsibility is her family safety. they came to the ph many years ago because their country missioned them to find something important.

ITS NOT OBVIOUS THAT I LOVE THE BOOK, IS IT?

thinking about this drama again. the ending felt rushed. we were happy up until ep13, then it took a sharp turn and fell abruptly. the ending lacked proper build up. i understand that they needed to separate back then, but it shall be something like a temporary cool off. because yijin was passionate about journalism, and heedo, at that time, cannot handle ldr for she needs someone who will prioritize her. thus, they must step back before it gets toxic. they can't save a crack relationship with ldr. they must be physically and emotionally present to work things out, which was impossible because of their career responsibilities. but the separation doesn't have to be permanent. if only byj established his career and settled in korea a little earlier, he could've pursued heedo again and treated her better than before. i mean they were truly inloved so there's no way genius byj wouldn't find a way to go back to heedo eventually while fulfilling his duties. love is patient, isn't it?

it is also unrealistic for me that she had a baby only four years after the breakup. i perceived heedo as someone who doesn't let things go easily. for instance, her father's death, her problem with her mother, and with yijin's disappearance. all took time to resolve. hence, it's questionable how she moved on so quickly from byj who gave her several precious memories. how she found someone new she loves enough to marry in three years of dating at most. they broke up in 2002, she gave birth in 2006, so she married and became pregnant late 2005 or early 2006. let's say she stayed single fior 6 months (although, i think that wouldn't do for nhd). how can she devote herself to someone in just under 3 years, knowing that she was independent, and also busy with trainings and competitions?
On He’s into Her Season 2 May 15, 2022
the og s2 of the book is my favorite!!! it’s 10x more angsty. story time because i’m bored…

in the book, the fl wasn’t fully over with the second lead, like she still have feelings for him. then ml had realized he has feelings for her. but he was mad that he fell for her because he heard the fl saying to someone else that she would “never” like him romantically. then there’s the second lead actively chasing the fl while having a girlfriend. yes, asshole! after their breakup they lost contact the day after so the second lead was still kinda hang up. now back with the ml, he still ended up courting the girl because obv he can’t resist his feelings. the girl was very honest about how sees the ml. she doesn’t sugarcoat things. AND DEIB THE SUITOR IS THE BEST Y’ALL.

they became official because of a basketball bet hahaha. at that time, fl was falling for the ml already. but because second lead was still pursuing the fl, deib had a little to none trust to max plus he knew their history. he knew the reason of breakup is the meddling stepmother. hence, he was very jealous which led to a misunderstanding. the argument was then resolved. afterwards they got into a big gangfight. max was stabbed by her biological mom’s stepson gang boss. because of mom reappearance, it was revealed that her mom was raped by the second lead’s dead father who was very close to max. thus, the stepmom was against their relationship. this revelation took a toll on max she suddenly disappeared leaving deib devastated devastated.
