I was still new to c-dramas when LB aired so it was the 1st time I saw lusi. I was amazed how good she was. Normally c-actresses can come across as stupid/irritating when they act cute or naive but I loved her. I cried with her character instead of rolling my eyes LOL And her scenes with Liu were so good that me and my friend would only look forward to their scnes. But with Pearl, I was so disappointed :(

After reading this, I think they'll not make him so pathetic coz how can u change such a guy easily. None of my fav actors can do such a role and expect me to feel bad or cheer for him. Even k-dramas do this. Evil ppl are easily forgiven. Then in the end they magically become good and everything is forgotten. If the ML's parents are evil, then they never suffer.

But I did not like it and have kept it on pause and have no motivation to finish it. I mark such dramas finished after jumping to the last episode.

I feel that writers know that many of their target audience wouldn't mind such MLs or are only interested in the leads getting together. So make the other woman a gold digger or a cheater so that it's easier to forget the flaws of the ML.
Some time back I had watched a c-drama whr the ML's dad is misognystic, abuses his wife and the FL, insults the FL parents. In the end ML's mom decides to divorce the man but the dad simply dies without even realizing or regretting. Everyone suddenly starts saying what a good man he was!
