Killing both Kem and Bo’s mothers off was a great change. Parents in Thai GLs get away with murder, and compared to the book where she’s given a house and millions to enjoy this was more fitting.
I don’t think Ploy suspected Pun of cheating. She’s just deeply hurt that Pun chose to lie instead of being…
That would actually make things worse for her character having full knowledge of the situation and still lashing out like that. Being the “first choice” in this context is kinda iffy as well; it was a spur-of-the-moment reconciliation trip Ploy invited pun on last minute, and when you compare it to the 30k usd gift from her family(who treats Pun like a screw up that always need help). I can have Ploy's back with being lied to part but that's it.
She was gone for eight years, so its 2017. Jane didn't have her own phone or any social media? Why were you calling her mother and sending letters? You see how easily that excuse falls apart? If she was so important to her, why didn't she reach out again? CH3 is just too lazy with the plot.
I'm hating and loving the angst this week. I just hope that going forward we see some real character growth from both of them.
Pun was a disappointment this episode, she should have just told the truth. I get that the truth is complicated for her to unpack, and in some ways she's trying to protect Ploy from the drama her brother is involved with. I also understand the part about leaving Ploy to get the money back it’s a lot of money, and it carries so much weight because of how Pun's family sees her as a screw-up. But lying about it was the wrong way to handle things.
On the other hand, Ploy clearly carries insecurities from her family and past relationships, but at her age, lashing out like this is not okay. Cheating on your gf/situationship because she’s acting suspicious without even trying to confirm anything is not a justification. Ploy interacts with her exes, Prang and Mind, every day, yet her first instinct is that Pun must be cheating just because she’s talking to her own exes. She needed to have a conversation not show your gf/situationship that you’re with someone else, that’s just cruel.
Hope they don't do a SWSH thou by puting all the blame on one charchater for the realtionship not working.
I need Prem’s parents to have a slow, cruel death. The guilt-tripping Prem mother used was vile and utterly disgusting. I need them gone, and if the writer weren’t so immersed in this Asian filial-piety mentality, we’d actually see Prem leave them behind. I’m sure Pat’s parents would give him all the parental support and more.
Pun really needs to come clean to Ploy about her brother and why she approached her in the first place, or this is going to get really bad soon. Ploy is way too petty and cruel with her paybacks and Pun's little heart won't be able to handle it
Not sure why they took this direction with the story, everything just feels off and lacking. Maybe it’s my fault for reading the book, but Bo doesn’t even feel like Bo most of the time, and Queen Mother was never like this. Maybe I’m nitpicking, but the book had such a fun back-and-forth between Queen and Bonita, and it really showed how Queen built her up. All the heavy, emotional scenes are gone, and it feels like they stripped away what made their dynamic special.
I expected the whole hospital drama where Bonita was upset with Queen for sacrificing herself like that. Even after they first slept together, the scene where Bonita acted bratty just to get a reaction from Queen was cut instead, they leaned too hard into the relationship insecurities. We didn’t even get a proper emotional moment after Bo was humiliated by her mom at school. Just… nothing.
The best thai gl rom-com we've got; hilarious, well-acted, with great transitions and shoujo vibes. The comedy hits perfectly, not cringey or overdone. Kie and Pock's friendship is top-tier, and KiePeem's story from high school students to working professional is so fun to watch. Everything just flows so well. I can definitely see myself rewatching this multiple times.
Gotta give a shoutout to Nam’s actress — she portrayed the character perfectly, making me hate that manipulative psycho even more. Even when she crashed at the cafe with Prem and Pat, I was stunned by how good of an actress she is
The first episode was great. the production quality, the directing, and the score were perfect. This has the makings of being the best thai gl series of the year.
In the novel, not long after Nam got out of the hospital, she kept using suicide threats to get Pat's attention. One night, she called while Pat was with Prem and started the same thing again. Prem, frustrated that Pat was falling for it, started kissing her and touching her until things escalated while Nam was still on the line listening. All Nam could do was scream in anger. Prem knew Nam was still on the call; she just wanted to make it clear that Nam's antics weren't working, no matter how much she claimed ownership of Pat.
Exactly. I hoped they didn't go the normal jealously route, and just had 1 be mature enough, but that was too…
Yeah, it’s so clear that Pat’s obsessed with her and totally irritated by Nam. Pat was even upfront about her past crush and everything. So at this point in the story, Nam should be the only delusional one to think Pat has feelings for her.
After already overwhelming us with so many characters, they still introduced more all while dragging out the cheating case. If they wanted to showcase the MGI talents, they should’ve done a case per episode format. Hopefully, they find their footing soon.
I need some of that ex’s audacity, he was straight-up delusional the whole episode. Sadly, I gotta blame Meri too. girl needs some backbone. He’s been using her and playing in her face for years, to the point he actually thinks he’s the prize. Jenny gave him a reality check, now it’s Meri’s turn.
Really not liking this angle where they have Prem not trusting Pat. It’s understandable given what Thawat did to her, but it’s a huge letdown compared to the book — where she’s annoyed at Nam’s obvious antics but never reaches a place of distrust toward Pat. Guess we won’t get the phone scene if this is the dynamic.
