Just today, the director of PC has officially come out and apologised for the convenience they've caused and has reflected on how all he feels is, apologetic towards IU, BWS, and the actors for their hard work and everything that's happened and how he felt apologetic that they had to take it into their own hands and address letters to fans and the audience. Well, the damaged has unfortunately been done...and this was never any of the actors faults anyways. Hope they never encounter MBC for another drama again after all this mess. All I hope now is that everything is out of the way and that we can finally see the last few BTS photos because I'M SO SAD THEY HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO POST THEM YETT!!!
The finale was supposed to be a joyful time for all we're we should've been able to have seen all the actors celebrate their achievements and the drama's records. But it's all because of the production team's mismanagement (even from the very beginning). It's also been confirmed that the actors themselves never received the script books for the eps until the VERY DAY they'd be filming for that ep...so explain to me how it's on them?? Idk... And if I can recall, there was a time when IU was still filming for one of her drama's 16th episode while the 15the episode was premiering live on tv... IU and BWS' first MBC drama, and I hope, they're last one. I ofc don't think that either of them was wrong to pick PC (I still stand by how much their talent made the characters and they gave the viewers so much joy the last 6 weeks), I just sad that they put so much trust in a production team that did them no justice. For a drama like PC which achieved so much in its run, it's sad none of this can truly be recognised fully without people bashing the actors.
The only thing that’s truly upsetting is that wooseok and iu could’ve wrapped everything up on a genuinely good note. They were all so excited and confident, constantly interacting with fans through their official communities, happily sharing stories about the drama and their characters. They were even posting back-to-back behind-the-scenes moments for Perfect Crown after every episode on Instagram, enjoying themselves and interacting warmly with the rest of the cast as well.
We could’ve sent them off happily and celebrated everything together… but instead, they ended up carrying a burden and taking the blow for something that was never even their responsibility to apologize for.
At this point, all we can really do is wish them well and continue supporting them, because they will be okay as they always are. It’s just heartbreaking to see a drama they worked so hard on being treated like this, despite the fact that it became such a massive hit that entertained millions of people worldwide.

The web novel has been released and I'm planning on reading it once my assessments are out of the way. As far as I know, they REALLY condensed the whole storyline....such a pity for all the actors who poured their hearts into their roles.
Perfect crown biggest enemy was never the story itself but mbc and kakao, forcing everything into 12 episodes just to push the webnovel rollout and maximize profit. The rushed pacing literally feels like a consequence of corporate greed more than bad writing. Romance-wise - the trope was done really well, but if they were going to include political aspects, then they should've extended the drama's eps. I will forever grieve and complain about the lack of eps and amount of missed details.
Anyways, on a happier note: I'm glad that we're seeing more positivity on this page because damn...yesterday was quite a rollercoaster. Regardless. we can't deny the impact that this drama has had on the many viewers, and the actors are to be praised for all efforts. You won't see me gone anytime soon: I'll be back to square one and rewatching it againnnn. As far as I know, kdrama script books have only been in Korean and so I don't think there'll be an English ver (I wish they did🤧!!!). I'm hoping to purchase it as just another piece of merch and maybe translate as much as I can 🥲
Production team is in hot waters due to historical depictions in the last ep. MBC...wait to ruin it all for the cast, drama, and viewers. Hoping all these actors stay as far away from MBC as possible because of the heck of a mess they've made all throughout production. Only giving IU and BWS the script for the first 4 eps, having them accept the roles, only for the remaining scripts to be handed out on the exact days of filming, with the rest of the plot only being exposed to them until later. Unfortunately, the fate of this drama was already foreshadowed from the beginning: MBC did nothing when the leads were confirmed, they remained silent when the rumours about the drama being cancelled roamed around, and when the decided 12 eps were enough. And apparently, the airing times for the eps have been muddled around so much, IU and BWS have had to personally notify the start time till the finale.
It's such a pity considering how amazing everything is. This probably explains the silence from the cast today - while we'd expect behind pics like usual, MBC just had to ruin it all. And to have it all happen on IU's birthday too....such poor management. If you're gonna drag anything: it's gotta be MBC and their mismanagement all throughout the prodcution.
The original script books are being released soon with the ost album soon, and you best know there's probably a whole load of unreleased takes that could've enhanced the plot if MBC had used their brains and made it 16 eps. Now, I'm not saying that kdramas in general are bad: many dramas have their own flaws and all. It's just how there's been an ongoing pattern with kdramas where they start off very strong and then the writers bring in unnecessary tropes and ideas that fully ruin the ending (eg. recent ones like Dynamic Kiss, Our Universe, etc.). Every dramas has its flaws but just because we enjoy one thing which you don't find enjoyable, doesn't mean we're wrong for finding a great connection with this drama. Perfect Crown was the drama that immersed me back into kdramas (along with Yumi's Cells 3) so I guess it's just stuck with me, especially how I've longed to see IU and BWS work together again.
Sure, it may seem to you that there are "so many good Kdramas, and way better ones than *PC*", but that doesn't really apply to all of us. I don't see myself criticising kdramas as a WHOLE just to uplift PC: I'm just pointing out the minor aspects that have caused some kdramas these days to fall, especially with the poor execution of episodes where some may drag on, while others may NEED that extra slot of eps to fully complete things.

It seems that IU may not be returning to our screens for awhile due to her upcoming music endeavours with her album, and it may be Wooseok's last romance drama for awhile too. I DON'T WANT IT TO END 😭
(I have to praise them for the romance development because dayum, THE TENSION and YEARNING each week was insaneeeee!! If only they spared another 2-4 eps to complete the political side and round it all up nicely...😡)
I will forever love this drama with my heart, but I do wish they had given it more episodes cause why are we on the last episode but there are still so many unexplained bits? I better not see anyone blaming any of the cast for the poor plotholes and pacing of this drama because they are really the only ones holding this drama rn and giving it the numbers. You know, SOMETIMES dramas are best with 16 eps....the kdrama industry has seriously fallen with their eps these past few years, giving some dramas that SHOULD be 12 episodes 16 episodes, while giving dramas that deserve 16 eps only 12 eps. It all held on pretty well up to ep 10, but it really seems like MBC underestimated this drama (and are probably just lazy af) because why are they squishing everything in the last 2 eps??
I loved how well they developed the romance and I-An's rising to the thrown, but I wish they didn't give any characters redemption arcs. I want to know moreeee!! I'm planning to get the original script for PC and you best know, a LOT of people will probably be disappointed in how poorly MBC handled the overall storyline. Like: - What drove the PM to become like this? Is it just pure obsession with HJ, or is there more to it because I can see that the QM and her father influenced him by reinforcing how he's serving for the crown, but I feel like his betrayal towards them should've been introduced earlier if they were gonna condense the whole storyline into 12 eps. - Are we gonna just forget about the QM's doings? Burning the palace (I believe) and being one of the reasons for the PM's character change? - They really just tried to do damage control with HJ's dad cause all of a sudden he's acting civil with her after treating her like ass all her life. - Who messed with HJ's car and who killed that person?
Props to IU, BWS, and the rest of the cast for carrying this drama till the end. I must repeat: please rate the episodes as you watch as the rating (as far as I know from experience) is the average of all the episode's ratings. For future watchers: don't trust the ratings and just GIVE IT A GO. Why bother missing out on such a gem. Deserves at least an 8.6 - 8.8 looking at how it's currently going. I'm liking the pacing but I hope they can cover things well and not rush the following eps.

I would say: quite a lot of the LR fans are still deeply attached to the characters and ship, and so whenever either lead (BWS or KHY) is placed in another drama, these 'fans' constantly compare the drama to LR (despite having completely different storylines) as well as saying that their former Lovely Runner partner is better than the other lead - sorry, it may seem so confusing with the wording😭.
Ex: whenever there's an edit for Perfect Crown, there's always people in the comments attaching stickers of lovely runner clips, followed with comments that degrade the drama and this pair (BWS and IU) down like: "I can't move on" "They have no chemistry" "overrated" "this ship (LR) is better" "I miss LR ship"
The moral of the story is basically: if you can't stand an actor being paired with another person just cause you can't let go of your own delusions and ship, then just don't watch it - keep the nasty opinions away and just leave us to enjoy the drama without having a witch screeching in our ears. 😌
I haven't felt this way in a while, and I'm honestly loving every moment of it. Perfect Crown and Yumi's Cells S3 have finally brought be back from my LOOOONNNGGG kdrama slump, and they're so good!!! BWS back on screen after 2 years, IU coming back. Oh gosh, what a treat. Bringing back the joy of an ongoing drama again, which I've been missing😩!!
I'm loving the pacing - it's not draggy, and they surely know what they're doing, given the small 12 episodes frame they're working with. Like wdym we only have 3 weeks of this left 😩. The weekly wait literally kills me so much (especially since I'm so used to the daily eps from cdramas), but like it's so worth it. The script it nice. I'm loving the character dynamics and would could honestly sit here writing a review on character analysis because their relationship is so freaking funny and cute!!
Curious to see how everything goes: the crown, the little King and his mother, and what they plan to deal with in the remaining 6 eps. Also like to add on: when BWS is the ML, there ain't know way I'm looking at any other options, I'm sorry. Get SL syndrome all you want, but I find it kinda funny when people do get it from this 'cliche' trope of: being friends with her and having feelings, not doing anything, and forgetting about these feelings, then when another person comes in and actively tries to do something, then suddenly the SL acts like a victim of cheating. Like I love the prime minister (to some point) but like........how are you able to catch SL syndrome for him 🥴.
Also, all these LR fans need to learn how to separate characters from their actors. I can understand not being able to move on since the last time we saw BWS was 2 years ago in LR, but like, where's the respect...the same thing happened with No tail to tell - at least show some respect to the cast members and drama by separating your delusions from it.
Given the success this drama currently holds nationally right now, I'm glad people are actually appreciating the drama. Though, if you'd really like the rating to go up, I'd suggest rating each episode as it comes out (individually) on here. Anyways: ANOTHER WEEK OF WAITING😭😭😭 Ep6 was such a beautiful episode too!!!
