I have been binging a lot of kdrama and cdrama lately so I've adapted the practice of fast forwarding scenes with family and skipping second lead romances altogether. But the interactions between all the characters made me not want to miss a single dialogue. Also helped that the second ML was FL's brother and not potential lover. I actually love their familial relationship (with each other and their parents) more than the romance. This drama was the only one that made me cry during this summer binge. Really reinvigorated my love for dramas.

Title Go Go Squid!
The story can get a bit predictable, but the interactions between the leads and the comedy of the KK boys makes the show. Some cringey scenes, especially in the beginning with Squid but I guess that's part of her charm. Kind of wished they focused more on her smarts though, with actual scenes instead of just characters mentioning her accomplishments.

Something about episode 10 keeps bothering me a lot. Like, the foreign guys were touching Ai Qing inappropriately…
Right?! She told them to stop and screamed for help. If that did not stop them, what makes her think talking it out would help? And then the guys just randomly said they were just joking...

Overall, I think I still enjoyed the ride.. I was invested enough in Tae Hee and Shi Hyun to cry when they broke…
I have been wanting to have a conversation with someone about the trio's relationship, and I really liked how you dissected their relationship.

I agree that all three of them were pretty broken, and perhaps Soo Ji had the most emotional and mental obstacles to face. She had an inferiority complex stemming from the comments her schoolmates made about her father's incarceration. Shi Hyun was by her side and did not leave when she told him to. She also has abandonment issues, and rightfully so. Her father physically could not be with her when he went to prison, and her mother emotionally abandoned her father via divorce after so many years. In Soo Ji's mind, no matter how long you are with someone, they can always eventually leave. Soo Ji constantly needed validation and using a "prove through action" mentality to test the boys' loyalty, which started the bet. Her trust in Shi Hyun started to shatter when he hid his feelings and actions revolving Tae Hee. As someone who said to Soo Ji that he will always be by her side, that seems like a big betrayal. She started to test him and set up these little traps to get him to tell the truth, but he continued lying. She started to test the limits and begins unraveling emotionally. She acts out not only because she has difficulty coping, but because any time that she does, her best friends would go to her side. She has become the most codependent of the three, which is why she feels the most betrayed and thus acts out the most. I think the boys "treated her like Queen" because they need she needed the most healing, which reinforced her maladaptive behaviors when there was conflict. The relationship definitely needed a lot of work and repairing, and this is not to make excuses for Soo Ji, but I can kind of see where she was coming from. Her world consisted of the two boys, and she was equipped in handling having that world shared with other people in the way that it did.

Hey ! Who goes with whom in the end ? I'm in mid but want to know the end.
I'm so glad someone mentioned the requirement of having a place that can host a small music chamber performance! Everywhere I read, people kept saying that it was sad that the trio never gets back together. I guess they don't, but I thought that requirement insinuated that they would eventually become friends again. People seemed to have glossed over that inference and focused on the love relationship? I'm trying to find some hope that they become a trio again because I didn't care much for Joy and Shi Hyun's romance.

This drama made me start searching for dramas revolving around trio best friends, and take a break from romance (which is my weak spot). I loved how in the beginning they looked out for each other and would go to support one another at the drop of a hat. They became so codependent on each other that they did not know what to do when their world started to include another person... Throw in some lying and immense feelings of betrayal, and we have the conflict of the show. Absolutely HATED how Shi Hyun said he would always be by Soo Ji's side and then said they could never be friends again.
When Se Joo started to say he would never leave Soo Ji, I thought, "Uh, is this a foreshadow?"
I'm only hoping that when Shi Hyun requested for a place that could hold small music chamber concerts at the end, it was because he planned for Soo Ji to play her cello there. And considering the reunion of Soo Ji and Se Joo at the end, I'm guessing Shi Hyun is going to accept friendship with Se Joo too.

Apparently the director of this drama posted/released BTS videos and stills in January, so I don't know if that…
Several of the dramas that I am hoping to watch have already finished filming months ago (some even have trailers/teasers out), but I have heard that cdramas can take a long time (years) to be released? Why is that?
