Haha, yeah, XZ cares a lot more about what people think than WYB. WYB seems to just do and say what he wants. While we all (most of us, anyway) know that they're not romantically involved in real life, their chemistry is no joke. I don't know if they realize the fires that start when they look at each other. :D :D My eyes are fine tuned to "bromantic" relationships, so when one seems to go above and beyond that, I notice right away. I'm not really into "bed scenes" in general, which is why the emotional bond they have in the drama is like the epitome of perfection for me (although I would certainly not be opposed to some kissing lol). And heck, I'd probably like anything these two do together LOLOL.
The first time I watched this drama, I felt Lan Zhan liked Wei Ying because they shared the same idealogy. The…
My ideas about the different character relationships change too each time I watch. Although, on my first watch I already thought Lan Zhan was totally obsessed with Wei Ying. Indeed, the way WYB looks at XZ is quite special. XD XD My first 4 times watching, I was adamant that Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng will never be brothers again and SHOULD never be brothers again because things will never work for various reasons. But on my fifth time I was like, don't care! They can and should be bros again. It's like the more I watch, the closer I become to the characters and the more I love them.
I am highly disappointed don't know why it is so appreciated i dropped it at 35th episode bcoz of following reason…
LMAO oh yes, I was certainly riled up. They should put a warning at the beginning . View with caution. This episode contains a scene that may be inappropriate for some audiences. Side effects include eyeball melting, brain explosion, and cardiac arrest caused by excessive maniacal laughter. Other possible side effects include angry ALL CAPS posts on online comment sections.
So, I feel like a little reminiscing today. This is probably going to be really boring but I'm putting it here so I can remember it always. <3 This drama is so special to me. The first I knew of it was from a fan-made MV on youtube that I happened to come across in July. Based on that MV, I thought it would be a pretty good but tragic drama with only light bromance (the MV was based only on the first few episodes). I wasn't going to watch it, though, because I really don't like tragedy and I know this genre and how cruel it can be so I was like NO GIRL, do not do this to yourself. Don't watch it. It'll be sad and you'll be scarred for the next several years. But I had nothing else to watch and the allure of a potential "bromance" was too much for me (and also, you know, Xiao Zhan's face *ashamed*). I started watching the first episode, and Wei Ying was all *looking at Sizhui 's clothes and remembering Lan Zhan with -sadface-* and I was like 0_0 and then :D :D :D :D. And then when he called out Lan Zhan's name with longing while playing Wuji I was like...wait. Wait. Really? What? Really? And then in ep 2, during the "reunion" scene, when Lan Zhan just stood there staring at Wei Ying for a ridiculous amount of time, I may have been slightly freaking out because I was NOT EXPECTING this.
And then I kept watching. And not only was there Wangxian, but I was introduced to the most amazing story with the most amazing characters and the most interesting and thought-provoking portrayal of human relationships and their complexities, of how we can love and hate someone at the same time, of how we can judge people unfairly, of how we often only see our own perspective.
I met Wei Ying, who is as complex as a character can be, who has so many different aspects and who became completely real to me, who I love dearly. I met Lan Zhan, who I completely worship. I felt pain along with these characters in a way I have never felt with any other drama. I cried over and over watching the same scenes, and I am someone who never cries watching dramas.
When I saw the Xuanwu cave scene for the first time, I just about died. I had never seen an on-screen couple with so much ridiculous chemistry...and the drama was not putting it to waste. I admit, I rolled around on the floor laughing hysterically with glee. No, I am not kidding. That actually happened. It was just SO ROMANTIC and so completely NOT "bro"mantic and it just felt RIGHT. Their relationship is so beautiful, so unlike any other couple. They truly are soulmates.
This story...it has everything...everything I could ever want in a drama. The arc of Wei Ying's character, everything he goes through, is just honestly so compelling , and his interactions with all the other characters are so freaking interesting or heartbreaking or sweet or funny. The drama makes me sympathize with villains; it shows the terrible sides of humanity and the wonderful sides. I haven't even mentioned the acting. XZ and WYB ARE WY and LZ. They really 100% became their characters and I love them for that.
And to The Untamed, thank you. Thank you for existing and for coming into my life. I lost many nights of sleep waiting for you to complete your run, reloading the WeTV app over and over until finally the new eps would appear at 5 in the morning , and I don't regret a single minute of it. You will forever be my number 1.
I don't think the drama comes out and explains this in any clear way. Some people are guessing that wwx does go into mxy's body but that his energy causes mxy to "look" like wwx. I'm pretty sure their basis for this is that the makeup teams tries to cover up XZ's mole post-death (although apparently they slip up a couple times? I haven't noticed). But honestly, it seems like just a theory, and I don't think anyone knows for sure. I definitely don't!
The Chinese lyrics are even more beautiful than the translated version. Each Chinese character has a clue and…
You're the best. Thanks so much for all this information. I had no idea about Yi Nan Ping, but that line about "Xian" always confused me. These songs really break my heart.
Before The Untamed, i didnt know XiaoZhan at all and all the casts in the drama. I even never heard of him, never…
I am like this as well. Watching now for the 6 or 7th time and still giggling and fan-girling like crazy at scenes I've seen fifty times already (anyone else sit around watching their favorite scene/s on repeat for hours? I stay up too late every night just so I can watch these things with dialogue I've already memorized LOL there are some scenes I've probably watched 50-60 times already. I also find myself saying "Wei Wuxian" in Jiang Cheng tone and "Lan Zhan" in Wei Ying tone randomly throughout the day ahahahahaha. This morning I watched a video compilation of XZ and WYB hitting each other and just sat there grinning like I won the lottery. Glad we're all losing it together!
