All the Scandal, None of the Chemistry
Scandal somehow managed to make Dangerous Liaisons feel completely lifeless, and I genuinely don't know how they pulled that off. I felt almost no chemistry between the three leads. The direction and sound weren't bad, but they never created enough tension or emotional weight to make me actually feel the story. Even the acting felt too influenced by previous adaptations, especially in the way the characters behaved and reacted, rather than giving them a distinct personality of their own.As a fan of Nana and Ji Chang-wook, I had high expectations, but I found all three protagonists rather dull. And I'm not against the changes they made to the original. Those alterations could have made the adaptation more interesting, but they simply weren't used to create anything emotionally compelling.
What bothered me most was the lack of emotional progression. In the original, Valmont never explicitly says he falls for Madame de Tourvel, yet you can feel it through his actions and changing emotions. Here, I felt absolutely nothing. I was mostly bored, with only a little anxiety about the ending. Just so-so.

A big regret for me.
Honestly I don't want female and male lead together 😑. I hope female lead find someone who's good enough for her so that she can live a carefree life. Male lead saw light in his life because of jianing but what about her she loves him and still her first priority is Plan O. I'm glad she's an ambitious woman but for her life partner ZXS isn't really my choice but I accepted him because he's main lead. Jianing needs someone who is different from her who can bring joy to her life and make her realize that there's so much here apart from her work. I heard that this drama has an open Ending. I'm glad they didn't end up together. And yeah ML and his ex disappointed me till the end. The only main character and her of this drama is female lead.*Spoiler: Main lead and his ex had s** together just before her marriage and now they've child together. *
Advice: don't watch it . The only character I love in this drama is female lead.

Best and Brilliant
I was watching this drama when it was on air. Waiting for each episode felt like a huge pain. I cried.. I laughed... I loved.. and I was scared, this drama was an emotional roller coaster for me. There were not main cast or supporting cast, each individual had their own sufferings and story. Everyone were main lead of their own life. I read some reviews in which people were talking about bad side of this drama and some of which I agree with but I haven't watched any drama or saw any character which is so perfect. This drama has my heart.Just go for it .

To be very honest, it is okayish❗
I really wanted to love this drama because the premise and cast had so much potential, but something just doesn't click. The problem isn't the actors. It's the way the emotions are presented. Instead of letting the performances breathe, the direction and background score keep pushing every emotional moment, making scenes feel less genuine than they could have been. In 2026, I expected a production that trusted its audience enough to let the acting speak for itself.If anyone wants to see how a Republican era romance should be done, watch The City of Streamer on YouTube. It still sets the standard for me. The chemistry between the leads is effortless, the kisses are unforgettable, and the angst is so well written that every emotional moment lands without feeling forced. The female lead is clever, strategic, and independent. She solves her own problems instead of waiting for the male lead to rescue her, which makes the romance even more satisfying. Every emotion feels earned, which is why it's still a 10/10 in my eyes.
