The characters in this are around 25-30 years old but the story feels like a innocent youth school drama. Really…
Now I've finished this and have more angsty feedback to give.
The ML is very manipulative for no reason at all. He dragged the lie for SO LONG. We could've had more cute moments if he confessed earlier. He has a PhD but has to read a book and listen to his cousin advise on dumb things. Story isn't even cute, it feels plotless, not focusing on anything, it's not even focusing on scientist until later part of the drama. The whole thing really feels like a high school drama masked with adult post graduate characters. Really bad casting. Both leads deserve better. The secret reveal is so disappointing, the reaction to it is weird too. Not to mention the childhood link!!? Why do cdrama always use that trope??

I made this comment when I was at ep 4/5 ish. I initially thought FL is finishing her master, but it's actually her degree so she's only around 22-23. And I thought ML is nearly 30 bc he has a PhD and do research and all that, but they later mentioned he's only 26. What I said about the plot feels like an innocent school drama remains the same.

I saw clips of this drama since last year but it didn't interest me bc of ML short hair (lol) and the vibe seems very calm/plain for my liking. Until recently I saw the raving review for this drama I decided to just watch it to pass time and oh my god let me tell you this has to be one of the best cdrama I ever watched!
There were some aspects I didn't like, such as FL's mother, and the side characters story feels outdated to me. But if I just focus on main couple's story, that's a 10/10. Love how their relationship progress, love how their actions and story are so natural, nothing over the top. FL is only 17/18 years old when she filmed this but shes so good at kissing scenes. Much better than many older cdrama actresses out there.
I'm only at ep 5 but I need to echo everyone's comments by saying it's bad. It's bad all around. Even the filming style is bad. They scenes are choppy. They could be doing something, and suddenly jump to another scene that's completely unrelated. I'm especially annoyed with the way ml found out fl real identity. He was just searching for FL, never doubted her gender, but suddenly looked out the window and saw that she's a girl?? And it jumped to another scene, and the next ml scene he's just like "let's see how long you can keep this up". I mean, that's an important point in the story but they didn't even delve into it?
This is another reasonably good drama that's ruined by having too many episodes. The saving grace is I don't find the story draggy. They have new conflict/plot every few episodes to keep the drama going. What I hate is half of the screen time, especially after ep 20, were given to side characters I don't care about. They're obviously just trying to fill up the episodes quota without actually adding any entertaining value. Annoying tbh.
How dark is this show? And what's their romance like? I'm intrigued by the reviews and synopsis but as someone struggling with depression, sometimes shows like this triggered my emotion. Please let me know how the story goes.
This drama is so boring. Even when I skipped through scenes not related to the main couple, it's boring. The couple have good supportive relationship, but I need more sparks and excitement from them. I feel like all they talk about is work.
The FL has a fake relationship with 2ML right??Why is that? How many episodes did this go on??
You meant Xing Yun and He Yu's relationship right? They formed a fake relationship bc of company's problem. FL thought ML is sacrificing the company for her sake, so she pretended to be dating someone else so ML can stop caring for her. I don't remember how long it went on, but it's not that long, probably 2 or 3 episodes only.
The story writer is ambitious with the plot, but the characterization fell a bit flat. Perhaps because they crammed so much in a short time, I can't really understand why the characters act a certain way. I would love to see this gets remade with higher budget and with several extra episodes so the pacing is better.
Dropped after ep 4. You'd expect something with only 12 episodes have fast story pace or development but nothing happened in the first 4 episodes. The acting style isn't my cup of tea too, it's very anime-ish.
I read the comments here while it was still airing so my expectation was on the floor. But it's honestly not bad. Made for a nice filler drama binge watch. The main leads are cute together, love the FL personal growth. I don't really care about business/company stuffs so I watched those scenes on high speed, but even those scenes are bearable compared to other ceo drama I watched in the past.
Like any drama, there are conflicts, but no breakup after they got together.
They were separated before they got together. ML went to college a year earlier, and there were some misunderstanding between them, when FL finally got to college, she chase him back. That lasted from ep 15-19.
I've finished this! What I love: - this isn't enemy to lover type of story. The couple started caring for each other since the first episode. - this is a youth school drama but the romance / amount of kisses once they got to college is on par with other mature dramas out there What I dislike : - the mother in the first few episodes. - the plot in ep 15-19 feels so unnecessary and draggy. Overall a very good drama. A 9/10 from me.
