The ending of The Unclouded Soul is bittersweet but hopeful open ending
1. Happy/Sweet because Xiao Yao finally figures out and masters time travel, letting her willingly return to a beautiful moment with Hong Ye and relive their love.
2. Hopeful because Xiao Yao goes back in time knowing everything that went wrong before. With that knowledge, she can change events, avoid the bad things, make their story much happier, and most likely break the repeating cycle for good so they can live peacefully together forever. If Xiao Yao succeeds in breaking the cycle of reincarnation, Hong Ye will not die.
3. Sad because we just saw Hong Ye sacrifice himself, which hurts a lot, and the drama ends very suddenly without showing us the full happy life afterward. We’re left guessing a bit and still feeling the pain.

Only Xiao Yao's pure heart ("unclouded soul") and accumulated wisdom (reincarnation memory) can completely break the cycle and save Hongye. Because she can repeatedly reverse time and restart reincarnation, Hongye has the opportunity to truly survive without having to sacrifice.

The theme that the whole play wants to convey the most: love and pure heart, which can finally overcome fate and desire~

That shock helped me get over it. This is how it is for him. Then Aug 2025, another shock. After a month of that, I stopped looking at YT videos. I don't want to know anymore.

Yu Zheng built his career on publicity. That's how he was able to get started by creating publicity to make himself a known entity. He understands that all publicity, good or bad, is powerful tool. Now I think about it, that might be why costar has such massive marketing behind her.

This drama has potential to appeal to a diverse audience. Seven Tan is a fantastic casting choice.

Shenzhen’s rise is something people still marvel at, and a story like this can really connect because it captures that whole era through one person’s life. The city’s transformation from a small fishing village and farmland into a major global metropolis in just 40 years is mind-boggling to me.

Xu Kai has said in multiple past interviews that he doesn’t care about billing and that it doesn’t matter to him, which is why he’s willing to collaborate regardless of billing. Maybe his agency cares, but he never made it a big deal. He didn’t hype it up, market it, or turn it into a talking point — he simply answered the question and moved on.

Recently, Bai Lu publicly spoke out against billing, saying it can hinder collaborations between actors. Her team and fans are actively marketing this as a positive trait, and she’s getting a lot of praise for it. What’s ironic is that some Bai Lu fans used to emphasize her first billing over Xu Kai and treated it like a win. But now that Bai Lu says billing should be done away with, those same fans are praising her for being “above” the issue.

I gave up searching for XK on YouTube. The only sincere videos are fan-made; the rest seem crafted to push someone else’s narrative.

Real studies have shown that first ratings everyone sees influence the ones that come later. MDL should not be putting up a score, especially on day 1, until the drama is done airing. MDL knows this, that's why I think they do it on purpose.

Unless you are popular or have some clout or backing, it's hard to get leading roles. Many supporting actors are very good actors, but they don't get leading roles. If you don't get the right role or limited role, how can you break through?

SEL is a good drama; however, the chemistry between the leads is not exceptional, but the chemistry of Dong Bo Xue Ying to his Master was and had an emotional ending. The martial arts are fun to watch. I like the story too. Plenty of lines in the script I found profound and quotable from general perspective. So, if you are looking for great romance story and chemistry, it may disappoint you; however, the story although has romance, is not really that focused on romance, but more cultivation and wuxia. It has over 9 rating on Viki.

I love his scenes in RF. One of my favorite scenes is when they were in the war camp and he served tea to Zhu Zhanji. I think he tried to poison him. The scene was so emotional. He really made an impact on the show, and always getting punished.
