The male lead’s job is to anchor the emotional core of the story, not just rack up scenes. Sure, secondary characters might get more scenes, but that doesn’t mean they carry the story. The emotional arc between the leads is what gives the plot its weight. You can flood the drama series with side stories, but if the central relationship doesn’t land, the whole thing falls flat.

The war between celestial masters and demons drives the story forward, but I don’t think it’s the main theme. Instead, there’s a deeper, richer narrative at play. The slower first half, which didn’t have much plot movement, likely served to establish key truths, characters, and world-building elements that will reveal the true heart of the story in the second half, which should be an emotional and happy one.

Too much sex, her waist hurts. I hear he's quite the brute at night. Not just at night. I bet the crisis will resolve and leave several happy episodes to end.
Is the half of the drama better than the earlier episodes ?
I wouldn't say it's better, it's more dramatic, it's probably what people are used to, but the first half is really nice too, you really can't have one without the other the way the story is told, think of pair of shoes, you need both to walk properly. I supposed if the person just wants action and they can skip to the second half, but then you're watching action without appreciating the characters or the meaning behind the story.
what do you mean by "it went to other character?" You didn't see any changes in Mei Zhuyu at all?
Oh I see, you felt it was abrupt, moving along without flushing things out more, they did cut 2 episodes from this drama, maybe they edited out some stuff there, but I enjoyed the child Mei Zhuyu moments with his former master, I felt those scenes were particularly good and I learned a lot about his past which helped to understand Mei Zhuyu better.
