I don't' think he learned that behavior from celestials, he was already like that when he encountered his master. In fact, his master has a carefree personality, unlike him. As for the other sect members, he seemed not to really get along with them, they seemed to mock him, he asked his master why the others said he has no sect name, that his not one of them, so he never really felt he belonged, there. You don't' see any closeness, no scenes of him close to any of them, only his master, and maybe later they may show more flashbacks with his master, we learn some secrets about the master because they made him out to be this unserious guy, I don't believe it.
