But from point of view of a mouse, it's an insult as mice are supposedly timid, shy, they run away, think of "timid as a mouse." but I don't' think he or she means they are tom and jerry, probably just means the show is like tom and jerry, all chase no payoff. It's quite insulting but that is as deep as it gets.

Oh, I vaguely remember Wu Zhen early in the novel — she was nonchalant about marrying, thought to herself that if things didn't work out, she could divorce Mei Zhuyu. She felt he was a good choice to get her sister off her back, and she could still carry on with her single life even after marriage. So I think if there is a divorce in this drama, it does kind of mirror the novel — how nonchalant Wu Zhen was, so dismissive about things, even if in the novel they never divorce. but the drama there will be a good reason for divorce so in that sense, it's not the same. but the idea she can just divorce is the same. I can't imagine Mei Zhuyue be asking for divorce, must be her.

The personalities of the characters are identical in both the novel and the drama. In the drama they go through different process. It's like you take the same two people and put them in a parallel timeline.

It doesn't address the topic and at end of Chp 100 (and I did not read every single chapter), Mei Zhuyu is a grandfather now. It ends on a happy note

The novel is super sweet, and I don't even think they ever had a fight, I could be wrong, but I would venture to say they didn't, I didn't' read every single chapter thoroughly It's super detail. It's a really fun novel but it's too much to read. Their relationship in the novel is so beautiful the love between them.

This is interesting because how can actors not talk to each other and get to know each other before filming? Apparently, they don't. Apparently, this seems to be case with Xu Kai. I recall it was this way too on set of WOL with Jian Tian. He hardly spoke to her in the beginning.
