I hope he keeps using his voice if he can because he understands the character he's trying to portray better than the voice actor who I read somewhere that they can dub the whole drama in a matter of a day or three days! while the actor has been working on the character every day during his filming. It is a huge advantage when the actor can use their own voice even if there are some flaws in the accent or delivery. The audience won't mind if the acting is good because good acting can overshadow some of it. I'm in favor of actors using their own voices. Even some voice actors technically perfect in sound and tone, but sometimes it feels like they're just reading the script. I know people who don't care who dubs a drama, they're just in it for the story.

I don't put too much stake in Douban ratings for the reasons mentioned, especially when a drama is polarizing. I've seen a few dramas with low ratings due to polarization. In Dafeng's case, however, the low ratings don't reflect its entertainment value, creativity, and uniqueness. As long as his fans keep supporting him, he should keep using his own voice, and he is immensely popular.

the douban user ratings is quite high at 103,845. I would expect it to climb to 150k eventually. That aligns with the super high heat index the drama is receiving

every character main or supporting had their own dynamics and conflicts. There were also children to adult dynamics. another favorite was Hong Ri and Bai Jue friendship. HR, a Qilin, was dependable, loyal and protected BJ, also bff.

When I see comments about ALP, I get nostalgic thinking about all the love stories in that drama, even love triangle between the evil Wu Huang and Mu Guang, and Gu Jun, and the love between Feng Ran and Jian Jian, Oh there were so many cp and love stories, and lifetimes in a single drama.

Tian Qi and Bai Jue had a complex dynamic where they often clashed due to their contrasting personalities. Tian Qi viewed Bai Jue as too cold and distant (nickname is ice cube in the drama), while Bai Jue preferred to be left alone and found Tian Qi's behavior intrusive. Despite their frequent criticisms, disagreements, and friendly fights, they were on the same team and worked together as true gods. It was their differing temperaments that caused the conflict. Later, their relationship evolved into a love triangle, adding more complexity and emotional depth to their interactions. They did become bff in the end.

Actually, I liked the primarily pastel colors of the other one, for it me it matched the tone, mood, music, theme, personalities, and atmosphere or the ethereal and enchanting ambiance of that drama, especially in some emotional and passionate scenes like when Bai Jue unblock Shanggu or taught her sword. However, it was not all pastel. It also depicted evil with dark and vibrant colors (purple flowers) adding intensity and contrast. There was a wedding scene with striking matching elegant black and gold costumes really elegant design.

In contrast, the bolder colors of this drama create a mainly energetic and exciting ambiance, better aligning with its dynamic tone and mood.

ALP is complex drama. It can't be sum up by a word.

I'm most curious about this drama, so I'm looking forward to it the most. These short dramas may not be the big popular dramas but I'm into following his work, and he's doing so many different kinds of characters, which is why I find him interesting to follow.
