I don't know what you call his sense of humor, but HT uses humor and sarcasm a lot. Maybe some people will misunderstand him.

It goes into great details about entrepreneurship/venture capitalists and the emergence and future of AI/robotics in medical products. Ji Xing's growth from an engineer to managing a start-up, and the difficulties she faces to launch a product. The novel is detail and educational. Most successful CEO's have great instincts, that gut feeling that guides them, and Ji Xing has what it takes. She is very ambitious, and she immediately recognize that she needed to learn from Han Ting. This mentoring really only happens when she runs into him and has an opportunity to talk to him, like when she has to update him, she is like a sponge absorbing everything he tells her and applies it to real life. She's a fast learner.

They did a good job of making the materials process realistic showing the real machines, the special gear they have to wear, the coding flashing across their monitors is realistic coding lines, the white board diagrams had realistic notations, the materials shown and the CAD designs, and the final prototype, as well as the technical problems and resolutions. They wrapped up these scenes so realistically and fast paced.

Of course, she cannot succeed without his help with investment and networks he provided. She is not simply a software startup. The barriers to entry are enormous without resources. You are right that she did get special attention from him mentoring and helping her establish networks and giving her a discount office space at Dongyang. But it's because of her talent that she got special treatment (plus he likes her). Han Ting would not help her simply because he likes her. The 3D printing is an area of special interest to him.

People like Ji Xing who were always at the top of their class and win competitions will be confident and have high self-esteem. People who climb high are naturally arrogant. She was much younger in the novel but 28 is still young. Young people tend to be overly confident.
Elon Musk was on the verge of losing Tesla due to manufacturing problems, so he slept on the manufacturing floor every day tending to every little problem himself. He did the same thing with Twitter. He slept there too until urgent issues were fixed. If XingChen had been run by an outsider, it would have failed.

I noticed ZD will make requests to HT for his help, but JX prefers to solve things on her own. it is because of JX's technical prowess that she was able to overcome unexpected emergencies because of the preparations she had in place.

In the novel, HT told ZD that JX is more capable than her.

I wonder if Han Ting has shown more emotions than he normally would because the directors were pressing him about XingChen. His cousin who is his rival took notice he is particularly sensitive when it comes to XingChen. The directors are gossiping about him which normally does not happen to him. It's setup. Somehow Han Yuan knows what's going on at XingChen.

The director is so wrong to say, "Ji Xing is just a technical guy and can't do management". The most amazing high-tech companies of our time continued to be led by bold visionary founders who were engineers first like Nvidia, Tesla, Amazon, etc. especially in the case of medical products have life and death consequences, you really do need technical person at the top running things. Boeing used to be run by engineers at the top is currently run by finance people has seen airplane crashes and the doors falling off on their planes recently!!!

In ep 15, she even told the team that news of the broken printer had reached the attention of Dongyang Medical. She's nosy and gossips. When the printer had broken down, everyone is worried and she's putting lipstick on. This is foreshadowing that she's a bad character something will happen later with her that is not good.

Almost everything that happens in the drama happened in the novel, but the adaptation creatively weaved it into a different time and event in the drama. For example, the MBA program, and the printer problem she was still with Yichen when those things happened.

Why HT never got a response back from JT before he left for Germany is even a bigger mystery to me now.

Oh, it sounds like she lied to HT when she said she accidentally misplaced her phone that day, so she never got his text, but it sounds more like she received it and for whatever reason changed her number to cut off communication with him. Han Ting wasn't happy to hear this response.

Can someone explain your interpretation of what I think is a psychological power play on Zeng Di in ep.15 the way he invited her to dinner with all her favorite dishes and then when he got her to reverse course, he says, "Let's eat. Taste your favorite fish." There's something about his tactics and demeanor, first he's scary but then he's gentle, almost like a parent will scold you, then give you a hug.

Oh and how nosy she was with Li Li when she came into her office and saw Li Li' smile,
she asked, "Who are you calling? Is it the one who gave you the expensive bag?"
When I watched it, I thought it was foreshadowing of something to do with her later.
In the novel, there was an incident with an employee, maybe it will be her instead.
