How could YZM who was an orphan grew up so understanding of people. Did he ever love his mother and father? There is no mention of his mother. He had a flashback of a happy time with his dad when he was a little kid. They never beat him up, but they couldn't take care of him.

I'm actually not looking forward to the mother getting seriously ill after things are going well for YZM and MCH. Why the depressing subject this late into the drama? It's a surprising turn of event never would have expected. This means more crying scenes to come. I guess they wanted to explore all family issues including sickness.

If Ziming is the President of East Asia, then I would assume that Zhang who is currently the acting president would have to leave. I've been waiting to know YZM and Zhang situation. Seems he's paid her back he says so she has nothing over him, and YZM is much cleverer than her, so no worries there, and YZM got his promotion without Xing'anli merger, so does that mean there is no merger? Seems the hotel business is booming under MCH's management. Will Yueda, and merger story will fade away?

I don't think so, but it would seem fitting since the drama had her mom chasing the daughter to get marry and finally, she finds Mr. Right. This is a family drama, and weddings is a family affair. Watching the teasers, there is another crisis has to do with the mother.

On the contrary, MCH said to YZM, it's okay not to forgive, but he should turn the page.
MCH: "Rest assured, I have no intention of persuading you to forgive him."

I'm come to understand grandma's will. For me Best Choice Ever is grandma gave the hotel to MCH. She made up for past regrets to help him find meaningful life. Grandma said that she does not worry about YZM's career, but that he can find happiness.

YZM's father was in jail past 15 yrs, that would make YZM between 16 to 18 at the time, as we don't know his current age. YZM said he used to eat food off the ground, that line really got to me. I gathered he was not even 8 or 9 when he went abroad, and by the time he was 8 or 9, his father had already abandoned his mother, then the grandmother flew in with cash needed, but soon after, his mother abandoned him for a boyfriend, and died in car accident, so he became orphan. Grandma paid for his living expenses and education, and they did keep in touch. I'm not sure why then he had to also work washing dishes and eat food off the ground, that must have been before grandma flew in to save them from their dire circumstances. This caused him to resent his grandma for many years, but I recall he told MCH mother that he and his grandma did keep in touch when he was abroad and when he returned although with ulterior motives, he and his grandma both expressed they missed each other and kept each other in their thoughts all those years he was abroad. He must have visited his grandma once or twice, perhaps after his high school graduation and college graduation, because Cui said it's been over 10 yrs. since he's been back. YZM did tell MCH that eventually, he realized that had it not been for grandma 's financial support, he would not have made it, and felt grateful. YZM stayed abroad to study by himself and had no desire to return to China. It seems his childhood memories were at Xing'anli and the Western style house where his father lived. He only returned to get rights to Xing'anli for a promotion and return to Switzerland. He's never known what family is.

I think grandma cannot just give money to YZM's father to help him, he will only gamble it away. That explains why she couldn't really help them until circumstances for her grandson were dire, and she personally flew in not only with the cash, but also to lecture YZM's mom and encourage YZM to study. But for whatever reasons, YZM stayed abroad to study by himself, but he always had the financial support of his grandmother and kept in touch with her. It is evident from his interactions with his grandma that he respected and loved her. YZM said his grandma is his only kin, even though his father is still alive, he only regarded grandma as his family.

I'm not that fluent in Cantonese, but I can pick out a lot of words that sound Cantonese especially when the mother and father speak, and their mannerisms are totally familiar to me. when YZM's father said, "I want to treat you to meal, I have money, I have salary", the words sounded Cantonese.
