The mother takes out frozen dumplings. The Chinese mothers I know make them from scratch. This eat,eat,eat , eat more is a typical Chinese mom. The mother is right. Her children should see her more often and eat with her. They should talk to her and get to know her, esp. how she grew up.

This is why I like watching his dramas. He has so many variations in expressions, even his voice.

I'm sure actors are not told how to do every action and have to create the moment themselves. The way he wiped her tears is definitely a XK humor.

I like his mannerisms in that scene. It brought out more personality of the character.

XK is really great at creating his character's mannerisms watching the scene where he tells He Dong his good news. I like the way he acted so cool and the way he put his fingers to his lips, definitely no Yang Hua there, maybe just a touch of Gu Yanzhen.

XK had a lot of really good scenes in this drama with the fl and grandma. He also displays chemistry with every character in the drama from fl, grandma, mother, father, He Dong, Zhang, and ZiYu, He plays a complex and multi-faceted character throughout the drama who has a very important relationship and influence with key characters in this drama. In fact, surprisingly, he may actually be the hero of the play. XK displays the many sides of the character's personality. After seeing him in this drama and hearing his voice, I'm more convinced than ever of his talent and versatility as an actor. I'm glad he took this role and got to work with Yang Zi who has four times his experience and very talented actress whom Chinese viewers have watched her grown up on the screen, is a very special actress who is obviously very dedicated and professional in the truest sense to her craft, and is immensely popular in China. XK is one who always acknowledge his seniors and appreciates what he can learn from them. I'm sure he was thrilled to work with Yang Zi.

YZM is craftier than Zhang. So YZM is the smart one, not Zhang. Seems she has to rely on him to get promoted. Looks like there is nothing more between Zhang and YZM and the drama will not reveal their past. I actually prefer to watch the cold, ruthless, competitive YZM.

The actress who plays Ziyu is 27 yrs old but she could pass for college student. I like her character, very lively. Her mother daughter dynamics is also quite common.
