Typical C-drama. Since it’s down to the last 10 episodes, of course they’re going to rage-bait us with some shitty, rushed plot at its core—except for the last two episodes.

I think you misunderstood my comment 😭 I don't hate TSY at all, and I'm definitely not judging her based on looks. I actually loved her in Go Ahead and The Unclouded Soul.

The dramas of hers that I dropped were actually good dramas I just couldn't connect with their pacing/storytelling enough to finish them. That's why I'm asking about this one, especially since it's 47 episodes. I genuinely want to watch it, but I don't want to commit to 47 episodes if I might end up dropping it again.

I'm asking whether the pacing and story are engaging enough to keep someone like me watching, not whether TSY is a good actress or not.

I badly want to watch this drama, but the problem is that I just can't finish or continue any dramas starring TSY. Almost every time, I couldn't finish it, and the same happened with her previous dramas too. I might do the same with this one, so can you tell me if it's really worth watching or not?

*Road to Success* is probably the best drama Esther Yu has done. I really loved her character in *My Journey to You* because she was cool, mature, and actually impressive. She didn't use the baby voice that some people find annoying, which made her performance even better. I'm not really a fan of any particular actor I watch dramas as long as they're interesting and engaging. After *My Journey to You* and *Love Game in Eastern Fantasy* (LGIEF), *Road to Success* became my favorite Esther Yu drama. I absolutely loved her character in it.

Well, this drama was a huge hit back when I first watched it. I was around 16 or 17 then, so I thought it was amazing. But after rewatching it, I actually agree with you—it has a lot of confusing plots and messy story arcs.

Back then, Bai Lu and Xu Kai were also one of the most popular on-screen pairings in China, so I think people loved their chemistry more than the drama itself.

If you didn't enjoy The Legends, I'd recommend watching Arsenal Military Academy instead. It's chaotic, fun, and much more entertaining to watch.

AGREEEEEEE, I usually don’t enjoy romance tropes unless they’re mixed with intense realism or pure chaotic fun. I’m mainly enjoying the humor, the chaos, and the entertaining dynamics. At the same time, the student-teacher aspect still feels morally uncomfortable to me, even if she is 18. I feel their relationship would have been better portrayed in a guardian or mentor-like way instead of romantic. Who knows how they gonna end the drama!!

Xia Xiaolan does not go back to the modern timeline again at the end of the novel.

Yes there are kissing scenes and some physical closeness is described, but not really spicy cause the set is from 80's so slow burn romance

Well in og Novel she builds a massive business empire (fashion, real estate, etc, becomes a successful entrepreneur, ends up with Zhou Cheng (slow-burn) lives out her life in that era, using her modern knowledge to win, well I am not sure how will drama end but novel has pretty good ending
