Hmm I was looking up the original and apparently the animation only is the childhood story…the revenge plot and investigation is added as a part of the kdrama. Maybe that’s why it feels like they don’t go together well for you

In ep 1/2 there was a flashback to how joohee and mijo met but I thought the younger version of joohee looked and acted more like chanyoung!

I offer you a solid argument: Dark themes are not exclusive to western TV shows/movies. In fact I argue Korean dramas/movies have done this dark content WAY better than Western TV shows/movies ever could.
