Agreed it was really weird. But didn't he also show up in Trumpet Creeper from what I recall? Maybe not lead but a supporting character, definitely. He also has a crush on Dan Oh, so could have also loved her in the past in Trumpet Creeper?

shen yue is so gorgeous her smile is infectious and I really wanted to watch for her because she's so cute, but her character just wasn't appealing to me and I didn't really understand what she liked about the male lead. the male lead was so flat and mean, could not continue watching. When We Were Young (2018) is a much better alternative.
