This drama is getting a lot of hate that it does not deserve. After 37 episodes, heres my genuine opinion.
Firstly characters, Cai Zhao actually just might be one of my favorite characters ever. Free-spirited, smart, and lovable girl who doesn't have a care in the world. I have begged for a FL like this and shes finally here. Overall, on the cast, this is my first time watching Bao Shang'en and she did so so well as Cai Zhao like I said. I feel like she was perfectly casted for this role. I also LOVE zhou yiran in MQY's role he looks SO good here. I kept seeing people say how they had no chemistry, but I honestly disagree especially after watching BTS, they are so cute together, but..I do see how this is a CP some ppl wouldn't invest in.
Honorable mention: the music for this drama is so good, especially “清风醉(the episode ending music)” I keep coming back just to listen to the music it makes me want to go outside and enjoy life. The cutscenes in the middle with Cai Pingshu and her friends fits this so well it really fits the quote of this review: "through generations, jianghu is always there."
Lastly plot, personally I absolutely loved the story, but I have to agree with some of the comments that the script writers kind of butchered parts of it, however its nothing thats too bad. I think it definitely could have been written a little better. Also the editing, it got a little better by the end but genuinely this drama needs new editors, I agree with this 100% but it wasn't bad to the point where I couldn't understand what was happening. If you feel like your midway and REALLY can't understand I really do recommend searching it up!
