I also think there would be nothing wrong if she loved him but still decided not to be with him (for his or her own good). It would just be nice to know the reasons - why does she think her decision is good for her or for him.
Because sooner or later love is a matter of decision, and both sides are free to decide if they want to continue the relationship at any point. People change with time, their needs and dreams also change. Sometimes it just happens that even the ones that were deeply in love suddenly decide go separate ways.

Yes, it seems it was a matter of decision and what both sides wanted. Although her ex seemed to be ready to do a lot to still be with her. She also said that she still loves him. So yeah, the reasons could've been more clarified.

This whole situation reminded me of the American movie "Marriage Story" where both of the leads love each other in their own ways but still gets divorced to live a more happy life (at least for one of them).

Yeah, as much as I like Jung So Min, her passiveness (o stiffness as you called it) during the kissing scenes looked weird. As if she felt uncomfortable shooting them.

I guess his only fault was that he wasn't the ML :D
He cared for the FL and loved her. He made 1 mistake and it was over. Then he came back and was better at handling the situation than ML but.. the writer forced him to back off.
The ML did a lot more mistakes (and more childish ones) but.. it's the ML ;)

I think it is an obvious analogy. That's why I didn't really like the idea of bringing older people to have a party there, it wasn't funny for me.
I liked the life-sentence at the end of this story though. I think this should also happen in the real life if the Korean justice system worked and cared more for their own people than for the rich.

Yes, this drama gets boring near ep 8. The ending could be better as well
...and yet it's one of a very few dramas that I still rewach from time to time. Not all the scenes, I skip a lot but still I come back to this drama every time I just want to relax and have fun. Maybe it's the lack of villain in this drama, maybe the humour and chemistry, maybe Kim Se Jeong put a spell on me... I don't know.

So yeah, I agree that it could be better but still for me it's one of the best rom-com k-dramas out there.

Chinese Dramas are usually long. A lot of them are also costume/historical dramas which is not my favourite genre. And then comes Chinese government with it's censorship and more or less subtle Chinese propaganda messages in some of the movies and dramas (but these are present also in other countries productions so it's nothing special).

Anyway it's hard for me to find a good Chinese drama that wouldn't scare me with it's length so thank you for this list. I'll check out some of these.

It felt a bit weird for me.
On one hand it was a comedy and I knew how it's gonna end because I've watched the main story.
On the other hand it felt like the FL was being abused (by... herself but still) and that made it a bit uncomfortable to watch. But maybe that's just me.

Growing up in a dysfunctional environment has a major impact on self-esteem. If you or someone close to you have experience like that you may like this drama a bit more (as you will understand FL better).
Looking at the FL's past I'd say she's doing incredibly well but let's not spoil too much.

I started this drama for Shin Hyun Been as I really liked her in Hospital Playlist. I stayed for the story.
The pacing was too slow for me sometimes, I often changed speed to 1.25x (sometimes more than that).
This drama was different from other fluffy comedies with nice outfits etc. but it got me hooked and I really enjoyed it.

> When did they get together?
It's hard to say really. The whole main plot of this drama is about the FL pretending to be ML's first love (which starts at the end of ep 2). So even if they are together, but the FL is faking it would you call it that "they are together"?
If the answer to the above is "no", then my answer to your question is: "They SEEM to get together... in the last scene of the drama" :)
ML is in love with FL from ep 2... until the end. FL falls in love with ML by the end of ep 9 but then she starts to avoid him (which makes ML look more and more miserable). Their first kiss is at the beginning of episode 11 and one could say that that's when they get together - if so, then by the end of this episode FL again decides not to be with the ML. This decision lasts until the last minutes of the drama.

As for the Second Leads: the drama starts with them breaking up and they never get back together.

er... Yes, I guess.
I personally felt like it was very much forced. I felt like i I was asking "please let them be happy" like 777 times throughout the whole drama and the writer at the end of the last episode said "ok, shut up already. Here, have your happy ending..." and threw the last page of the script under my feet so I need to bow down to him/her while picking it up.

Yes, it has a happy ending.
The last 10 minutes of the show is also full of positive messages.

There are only 2 things that some people may consider not happy:
1. The FL seems to be loosing her sight.
2. The FL does not end up in a romantic relationship with the detective.
But I'd say it's an open ending in both of these cases.

What lessons did you learn from this drama?

Lessons from the ML:
1) When the woman you love treats you like shit, keep loving her. She's going to change and love you back (trust me, that's not a recipe for a toxic relationship at all).
2) When you discover who the villain is, just go meet them without telling anyone. Sharing knowledge is for the weak. You need to be the hero after all.
3) In Korea, when you love somebody, you need to prove it by separating from her for around 3 years. If your love holds, then it's fine. If not, oh well. I guess you need to try again. Take that into consideration if you're trying any serious relationship with a Korean person.
(This is also a lesson for any aspiring writers there: when your audience is totally pissed and you want to throw some final punches, consider using this cliche.).

Lessons from the FL:
1) If you're a psychiatrist and your patient tells you that you shared some moment in the past but you don't remember... don't check if it's true. Just assume that what you think may be true is in fact true, no matter what your patient says.
2) If you're conducting an experiment on a human being, always lie to them and manipulate them. It's for their own good and for the good of the experiment.
3) If you're a psychiatrist, don't really listen to your patients. They just say the same things over and over; that's boring, but it's ok as long as they pay.
4) When your personal feelings get in the way of your work. Don't ask for somebody to replace you. It's better to ruin the experiment and hurt the person involved than to give it to somebody else.
And also, you're not hurting the person; you're protecting them, right? Right? ;)

Lesson from the SFL:
In Korea, "cool person" means "a person who can drink alcohol." The more you can drink, the more cool you are. Alcoholism is not a sickness; it's a skill you want to level up.
This is not a new lesson. It's repeated in almost every single Korean drama. I think you should know it by now. Cheers!

Lessons from SFL's mother:
1) If your grown-up child wants to know about the past that may be embarrassing or difficult, don't speak to them, and if they press on scold them, do anything so they stop but avoid serious, honest talk. Talking to your children and treating them like human beings is for the weak.
2) If your dangerous relative can harm the rest of your family, don't warn them about it. Maybe they will survive and thank you that you tried to "protect them" (while you were really running away from the problem like a real grown-up adult does). And if not, then... oh well, I guess they were unlucky.

Lesson from ML's mother:
If you've been a bad parent for your children, start drinking with them. In Korea, alcoholism seems to be the remedy for depression.
Also use physical violence against anybody that tries to do them harm because in Korea using violence is how you solve problems as an adult.

Okay, I watched it mostly for the SFL... and the dog ;)
I watched most of the scenes not involving main leads or second leads on 4x speed though.
It was not that bad... until episode 12 i think (until then one could've justify characters behaviour by filling the gaps the writer and director failed to fill). After ep12 it gets worse and worse and by ep 14 there is just total mess :D

In the end I don't regret watching it. I wanted to check Yang Hye Ji's acting and she did very good. I think her character (SFL) was the only one (if you ignore alcoholism) that's likeable in this drama... okay, there's also the dog ;) Other actors did their job well too. In my opinion it's the writer(s) and the directors who failed.
