This drama is basically South Korean government propaganda aimed at boosting the country’s fertility rate - by portraying parents as heroes and parenthood as the ultimate path to happiness 😉

I think you need at least a bit of familiarity with Japanese culture to fully appreciate this drama. There are plenty of subtle moments and nuances that can easily get lost in translation.
That said, it was a fun, light-hearted drama with some hilarious twists - especially in the second half.
The daughter's story had me hooked but I agree that it's a typical romantic drama kind of story. The son's story…
In my opinion, this is a Life drama, not an action or fantasy drama. Some people lead more eventful, interesting lives, while others have quieter, more ordinary ones. I think the "mediocrity" of the children's lives adds to the realism of this drama. But that’s just my perspective - every opinion is subjective.
Where this drama stands if compared with the director's other works like My Mister and Misaeng ??
Hard question. Depends on what you're looking for.
I think this one is better than Misaeng and My Mister in terms of pacing. It is more tear-jerking than Misaeng for sure and maybe more than My Mister (but My Mister has this one song that just tears me apart every time I hear it - here the OST is just ok, nothing special).
