The pacing in this season is a bit different than in season 1.
First season slowed down a bit around ep 16 but it was ok. I think the writer wanted us to connect more with some other characters than just the main couple (and by the end of season 2 I'd say it worked - at least for me). I rarely increased the playback speed in season 1.
Second season starts slow, first few episodes are mostly about character's relations. I used 2x speed much more often in season 2. But close to the end there was so much going on that I thought I'm gonna loose my mind from the whole carousel of emotions 😉
So a WARNING to other binge watchers: You may want to take it slow in the last episodes. Consider taking a break between each episode - if you're able to do so 🙂
So far it's my favourite Chinese drama. I liked the story a lot and the relationship between main couple is beautiful. It was nice watching a solid story.
