My understanding of Pio:
I think Pio acts pitiful and jealous because of the circumstances that he had grew up in and not because he wants to. We could see atfirst how much he loved and cared for jeongyo and still does as he literally searched endlessly for him for 9 years, its just that he wants to be TRULY and HONESTLY, validated and loved by the adults surrounding him which he never was. He doesn't want people to hate jeongyo or treat him (pio) better than jeongyo but because everyone has only belittled him, called him a bastard child, compared him and called him talentless through their actions and words but suddenly when jeongyo, a complete stranger, came in and everyone was overflowing with praises for him, he felt ashamed and worthless because everything that he wanted to achieve and had worked hard for his entire life was achieved by jeongyo in mere days because of his so called "born talent". Pio doesn't have or know how to grow a backbone because no one around him had one, i think once he learns to have one, he will realise the root cause of his misery and the sunshine/soul in him (which we saw during the initial episodes when he was with jeongyo) will return and he will evolve from the shell of a person he is now.

Pio's visceral reactions are because of his deep rooted traumas from his childhood and teenage years which he didn't really seek help for, he wasn't acting like that just for the sake of it rather it was the accumulated emotions that he couldn't express for years because no one wanted to know, not his mother, not his grandfather, not that teacher, no one! So as an adult when the only person who has ever treated him like a human being is declared dead he lost his mind and crashed out, similar to when he was 17 in Prague because to him, losing that competition would've been the end of the world and all of his grandfathers claims of him worthless would become true, in his mind.

Overall pio's entire life was miserable and no one saw him as a human being and not a pianist except for jeongyo who was taken away from him, FOR HIM, by his mother which made his situation much, much worse and wrecked him further, Pio is practically dead inside and only jeongyo can revive him, its like pio's circumstances and surroundings is a lightless abyss which jeongyo was helping him escape but his wicked mother cut short their bond and he fell back again..

I love the way his character is portrayed because that is way common than we think, through pio i hope many of us realise what is truly important to us and what is trying to ruin us by pretending to be good for us. (My paras are all over the place just like pio😭)

she is just continuing her family business of being managers, she said that she didn't have a particular talent for music but has a distinguished ear for finding talents so thats understandable but i agree that she doesn't seem to love pio for who pio is but rather his talent as a pianist even though i think she does care for him deeply. And i too thought she was in love with Jeongyo 😭. And did you notice that she told jeongyo that he , her and pio were extremely close friends when it was clear that she wasn't really close to either of them, that makes me feel like she is a bit delulu about her relationship dynamics being deeper and closer than what it actually is

i kind off feel like she herself doesn't like pio romantically, yes she deeply cares for him but i think her family pressure and circumstances from childhood makes her believe that she actually likes him (notice how she only mentions his piano skills as something she loves and never anything about his actions or personality) and i think pio is mistaking his gratefulness for love, both of them needs to clear their heads and think through this

i take their relationship as a situationship regardless of the gender, its pretty clear from their conversations (i think the director is trying to make it more deliberate) that pio, to put it brutally, doesn't care about jaein more than jeongyo, he doesn't listen to her, fakes his smiles around her, doesn't tell about his worries or feelings to her, never said that HE LIKED HER when she said that multiples times, doesn't validate her when she asks him if he is there for her/ loves her, million other things, its clear that their relationship isn't meant to work out

yes, but i hope she realises that she deserves to get treated better😭 the scenes where she is asking pio for validation and pio ignoring her was hurting me🥲 but i think the director would make them realise that their dynamic ain't healthy and potentially break up

my heart would die with pio, but i don't think he will, jeongyo is back and he won't let pio die no matter how much he "hates" pio

100% she wanted him dead because the kidnappers didn't hesitate to shoot jeongyo, she never told them to not harm jeongyo and she knew if he gets out "they" will be in danger

he believes pio being born ruined his daughter's life

honestly, i get that some people are hating on jaein too much but that is not a reason for some people to be homophobic in the name of calling bl fans misogynists for criticizing jaein's character and the relationship between pio and her

i think they both still deeply care about each other, there's no question for pio but for jeongyo i think he initially came for revenge and now is warming up to pio again, he probably wasn't sure if pio was in on with his mother so he was being cold to pio to test the waters but now he knows and has become a bit softer to pio

hoping that the suicide tag is for pio's mom

i thought sonata was a metaphor for soul/ voices

the "he is not my friend" clip jeongyo was watching as pio was downstairs telling the receptionist that he was jeongyo's friend, ARGHHH

i had to pause, my heart felt like it was torn apart
