But people like Jaein are also suffering from choosing to stay, don't they? The love they give out to their supposed partners isn't properly reciprocated and without proper communication won't it become an unhealthy burden for them to continue supporting people (like Pio here) after a certain time as they realise that the situation might never get better.. would it be actually selfish to walk away? Is it right to try to tend to someone else's mental health at the cost of your own? No matter how much these people are coping (like jaein in the drama, she wants pio to want her back but for the past 10 years, her feelings are not getting reciprocated, atp it feels like she is clinging to a false hope of pio reciprocating her feelings back someday), seeing their loved one down also takes a toll on their mind and can affect them negatively, continuing the cycle, won't it be better to cut the contact off somewhere? i know it's not that simple to do so though

i think the didn't primarily tag it as a BL because its not a mainstream genre is korea and the homophobic audience there might have boycotted the drama if they did, regardless i too think their love for each other is super intense and the director 100% knows what he is doing and i would absolutely hate it if the directors brother zoned them after whatever was going on with Pio (no one stays single for a supposedly missing "friend" for 10 years, we know what was done there) so i pray to every god that that angle would be avoided at all cost, (how hard is it actually😭) and i too atfirst thought it was queerbaiting especially with the FL there and them still showing romantic elements between the two males leads but i think they did a very good job portraying the toxic relationship between the ml and fl who, by definition, should've been the endgame but doesn't seem like that and for now it seems as if pio is still head over heels for jeongyo and dgf about jaein romantically so i'm inclining towards not a queerbait now, even though all my arguments would be redacted if they drag that incest plot.

1. imo, if they don't break the consistency of the feelings of jaein and pio, they can potentially break up because pio clearly doesn't like jaein romantically and i can only hope jaein will sooner or later will realise that.

I've been reading this everywhere but i don't think the kiss scene was unnecessary, it was intentionally done to show the toxicity and circumstances of their relationship and the fact that pio doesn't like jaein romantically at all. I don't believe that song kang and Gyuri cannot pull off a kiss scene when song kang's character is going all out on looking at jeongyo with those lovey dovey eyes, the fact that pio's eye were quite literally dead and they only kissed after pio got to know jeongyo was dead speaks volumes as you cannot convince me that he was single for 9 years jbc he was stressed and feeling guilty about jeongyo disappearing, that kiss was made to make us feel uncomfortable and intentionally had no chemistry so that we realise where pio's heart truly belongs.

I 100% agree with you and thank you for taking your time to respond, but what i meant was that if one truly loved someone then they would realise the sufferings and depression the other person is facing and help them to take the proper course of action to obtain professional help (coming back to the show) i know jaein claims to love him but she clearly didn't know or have any hint about pio's mental state for 10 years until he told her so, whilst i agree we humans cannot read minds, if we claim to care and love someone we do try to understand and know about their problems and feelings better right? so how did she, for 10 years, not even once question the reason of pio's behaviour? i ain't saying that jaein's love would eradicate pio's depression but she could've atleast helped him get the professional help he needed, and by doing so help "cure" his depression, well she doesn't have to do all that and simply realise that she deserves better and move on.
