How can anyone rate this drama a 1/10 and still watch up to episode 24? If it was really that bad, wouldn’t…
It's a sickness actually, I might have rated it 1 star but I'm still not dropping this... I've come this far because they haven't solve any real issues from the first few eps and I just want to see it until the end and see if those villains get punished. Tho I've read some comments saying something about part /season 2... if that's the case, I'll just stop.
I'm a fan of slow burn romance and strong female leads. I just described what I felt their relationship was like for me. Since it's a slow burn, it's obvious their relationship still hasn't progressed much and I'm not complaining about that, not many people fall in love that fast even irl. I just can't stand the ML standing by when she's being pushed (literally, physically) around and wait for FL to speak up.. if it's just speaking up on yamen(?) trial court, on the streets, or against those Floral (?) guild members, I have no problem. For this story, the FL is smart and emotionally strong, but she's not skilled in martial arts like Fu to defend herself from physical attacks...
As for ShengYi, I've already mentioned it on another comment.
Cinematography and acting is okay, but it just became repetitive (boring) that I have to watch it on 2x speed. That's just how I rate things... no matter how decent it is, if there's something I hate with the plot, it's 1-3 depending on the intensity...

"LOL I think no one understands FL as well as ML, not even some people who is watching (like you). He's not willing to help unless he is needed. I think FL is clear headed and strong enough to handle/scheme better then the ML." - I have no problem when it's just heated arguments because the FL is strong and smart enough to speak up for herself but I get mad when it becomes physical and the ml still does nothing...
"Even when she is harassed, she consults with ML and they plan together, so not sure why you think he's just standing by when he's in on her ideas too." - for example, that time WQ brought some people and harassed fl at the market (breaking all the potted plants) asking for a refund and bringing other people to her house (entering her property, pushing FL and WN, throwing things)... did ML know? Did they plan it together? Did ML help? All NO - I forgot which eps but I honestly can't count how many times I've heard ChuanYu ask ML if he's just going to standby and let FL handle it whenever it happens... - yes Ml helped Fl a lot at Luoyang, I even thought FL was ungrateful and shameless after ML helped her with her divorce and dowry issue and only giving him roasted bun in return then asking for favors again when they met in ChangAn. But what I mean is the things she went through in ChangAn. -the only time ML voluntarily helped FL was at the barracks. That time when ML helped FL resolve the rumors of her shop having evil energy was because of his aunt...
As for WuNiang, I didn't experience what she went through but I sympathized with her until she got back with her ex. I cried in all of her sad scenes and felt sad for her but what she did is just dumb and unforgivable for me...
The whole drama is repetitive , They want to make the fl so strong that they forget she's a woman that needs a…
One man's trash is another man's treasure? Or in this case, one man's treasure is another man's trash?🤣🤣 I don't like this drama but that doesn't make me a troll, unless you took offense by what I said🤣 you don't even have a proper response to the points I mentioned and just and called me a troll rofl all negative reviews/comments on this website must be made by trolls😩😤
I can comment whatever I want, I paid for a subscription fee to watch this and wasted my time on 24 episodes...
also, this is not a positive only comment section lmao if that's what you want, make your own discussion and put "only positive comments allowed" on the title🤣🤣

"On average it takes 7 attempts for an abused spouse to leave their abuser. "
WuNiang has been taking a beating from her husband almost everyday for who knows how many years before MuDan got to that liquor store. She knows he keeps concubines and discards them after he gets sick of them. She knows what kind of person he is that's why she kept messing with MuDan back at the liquor store to scare her away. She was almost beaten to death and was dragged to a brothel to be sold for life... but after being bought by MuDan, living under a safe and warm shelter, being treated as a sister/trusted business partner, gaining wealth and learning new things in life, she still decides to get back to her abuser?
She's just dumb... and a bi+ch who needs a man to embrace her every night....
Most people who go through what she did would be afraid of their abuser and would go as far away as they can to hide. But then she was easily touched when he gave her a medicine for her hands? After all the injuries and wounds he gave her? So ridiculous.
What you mentioned only applies to couples who got married for love/attraction not knowing their partners has anger issue and violent tendencies... or couples with children or those in a relationship with no financial independence... but WuNiang was sold by her father to him for only several sacks of rice, he never really showed he cared for her before the divorce... she (probably) had a miscarriage, has no child to take care of, and has a decent income...
Waste of time. Don't bother. I'm already at episode 24 and there's no point in watching this. I'm not going to tag this as a spoiler because I think people who don't want to waste their time should read this. I really hate ShengYi/WuNiang to the bone. This woman barely escaped death from beating by her husband after being sold to FL, but because she's so insecure about not having a man and not fitting in with her friends, she decided to get back with her ex-husband. I don't really care if this dumb bi+ch di€s this time or not, but then she decided to share a friend's secret knowing that a person could be imprisoned for faking an identity... then what? After all the suffering Fl went through (her shop and money all taken from her, treated as a slave, almost shot to death, almost raped then killed), she decided to forgive this whore and even took her back under her wing?🙃 I really don't like how the FL go through one disaster after another and each time they kill off a character she gets close with but get forgotten several minutes later without doing anything about the injustice... yeah I get that it happens in real life but this story has way too much of that it has become boring of how repetitive it is...
I personally don't feel any chemistry between the main leads... their relationship is literally like that of a rich person lending money with 90% interest to a poor acquaintance as long as he gets to boss her around... I don't like how he always asks her to cook, even when her one hand was injured... it might look cute or that they get along well to most people, but I just don't like it... if he wants to eat, he can have his servants do it... and yeah I get that the ML is playing a bad guy persona and we want the Fl to be a strong woman and not a damsel in distress who needs a man... but can a normal person not restricted by anything (since most are done away from the public eye) stand by and watch a woman get beaten/harassed multiple times because he knows she's strong mentally and emotionally?
Anyways, I have so much more that I hate about this story but I'm too lazy to write more seeing how long this comment has become.
My rating after watching ep 24: 1/10⭐️
Edit: the only character I can tolerate is Fu (Daughter of incense maker). She might not be intelligent and well-mannered, but she is true to herself and loyal to her friends.
Edit 2: I don't really care about other people's opinions, I just want to put down my thoughts about this... I'm done replying, I've already elaborated my points on my replies.
What type of drama do you like and what kind of drama do you want to watch
Wow thank you so much for making this list. I can see that most of them don't have romance lol and that you like thriller but I could really use this list as a refresh and start exploring other genres again. I've seen about 7 of them already and started watching some of them yesterday as per your recommendation.
I just finished watching Bad Kids and The One and Only. I think the ending of BK was bad and seems rushed. Also, the 2nd half of TOAO was just all over the place and kind of repetitive, the ending was okay tho. But overall, I really liked both series and think they're worth watching😆
Compare him with another same age actors, big difference 😆
Sorry, I’m not sure I understood what you meant, English is not my first language.
I only know Ding YuXi (29), Ao RuiPeng (29), and Zeng ShunXi (27), who are around his age, and I think they look their age. Other Chinese actors I know are either much older or younger than him: • Yang Yang (33), Cheng Yi (33), Liu YuNing (34), and Liu XueYi (34) all look like they’re in their mid-to-late 30s. • Li HongYi (26) looks like he’s in his early-to-late 30s, which might be because he resembles Cheng Yi and Liu YuNingn. • Song Wei Long (25), Lin Yi (25), and Dylan Wang (26) all look their age.
I think Wang Xing Yue (22) is similar to Chen XingXu in terms of looking much older than their actual age. I thought Wang Xing Yue was in his mid-30s, which might be because he looks similar to Liu Xue Yi. Or it could also be due to the dramas I’ve seen them in, where they often play more mature roles....
I wanna watch it for him too! 😌 Did you watch this drama btw?
I still haven't seen it yet but I will start watching it now. Will update you later 😆 I usually watch dramas on 1 sitting if it's interesting enough for me, tho I'm also quick to drop it if it's not😅
for me all cdramas have been not so great this year, I'm a wuxia/xianxia fan but this year I found them too repetitive…
I actually agree with the 1st part of your comment. I only mentioned wuxia/xianxia because I have more tolerance to it being illogical since it's fantasy as long as the main characters are not too unreasonable for me. Nowadays, I just watch everything on 2-3x speed and skip scenes of minor characters.. as for SC, I've only seen 2 episodes and for now I still don't like FL's character and it is ruining the show for me. How she acts (not Shen Yue's acting but her role) is the only thing I don't like about this... ik nobody cares but I'll try to watch more episodes and see if there's improvement on her character but I'm not confident I can reach the 2nd half of the series if I still see the FL acting so unprofessional and lacking self-awareness...
What type of drama do you like and what kind of drama do you want to watch
I'm actually fine with any genre (okay maybe except something with politics, military and zombies lol ) as long as there is a little bit of romance, even if the plot is a bit cliche.
Don't force yourself watching modern drama if its not your prefereces. just focus on fantasy drama like wuxia/xianxia…
Oh okay I'm actually currently watching WTPR rn and I've put KMLM on hold at around ep 21 for a while now. But since you mentioned it, I'll get back to it later after watching the latest ep of WTPR. Thanks for the response :)
Can I watch this season independently? Like without the need to watch season 1 to understand the story? I just want to watch this drama for Noh Min Woo lol I used to love him on My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and My Unfortunate Boyfriend. Just remembered him today after seeing a video about Ayase Haruka (Japanese actress) and how they used to date for some time. Didn't know he was actually born and raised in Japan until today... like I first saw him on MGIAG but back then (around 10 years ago) I wasn't the type of person who would research about a celebrity's life, I just want to watch the drama lol

I don’t have a preference for the setting as long as it has romance. I also have many favorite modern Cdramas, like Lin Yi’s PYIMS and Derailment. What I meant is that most of the modern Cdramas I’ve seen this year have been disappointing. If you have any favorites from this year that you highly recommend, feel free to share the title.
guys there's a news circulating online that Yoo Yeon seok and chae soo bin has a child together????WHATTTTT 😭😭😭😭
I'm honestly curious how the drama will go, since the manhwa raws (original work) I've seen on kakao page is just until chapter 19, and we've already passed that point in the drama...but no so far, no news of a child
Modern Cdramas are giving me a headache this year, I just can't with the nonsense. I'd rather watch a wuxia/xianxia drama cos at least we know it's fantasy, but modern dramas are meant to show a somewhat realistic portrayal of life, but I don't feel it at all especially with short dramas... special mention to Embrace in the Dark Night and the high rating, r ppl really that thirsty and want something that toxic because it has a lot of kissing and provocative scenes? Acting is bad and plot is all over the place😬 can anyone give me a recommendation of their best modern Cdrama this year? In case I still haven't seen it.. and don't say this one or Amidst the Snowstorm, that show bored the hell out of me. No matter how much I love Wu Lei (in TLB and LLTG) and Zhao Jinmai (in Reset and TRP), that drama was a shitshow...
