lol this is a little random.. but i came across this article and they said wang demin (chinese professor/engineer) looks like daniel wu in his younger days, but i think he looks so similar to chen xingxu o:
haha veeeery random fact: i love how the characters lightly mix in with real life. Throughout the drama CK is associated with a pig and XY is associated with a tiger. IRL, DYX is born in the year of the pig and YCY is born in year of the tiger ^-^ ♡
thank you! i'll check out mangoTV since i usually find it on YT by the following monday. it's just i was excited to see the LYF cast again and couldn't wait haha~
lol is it just me or does this season's cast have a few celebrity doppelgängers??o:
zhang gunyuan reminds me of liu xueyi li nie shuangyu reminds me of janice wu qian sun xin reminds me of caesar wu xize xue zheyang is like an interesting mix of wang yibo&guo qilin
I totally agree with your analysis. I’m additionally curious if there are people who don’t like this yet like…
oo I was looking into Go Ahead when it first came out! But the sheer number of episodes deterred me from watching it haha >.< I'm not completely sure how that drama showcased their relationship growing up (i.e. treating each other as actual brother/sister vs kids looking out and caring for one another, more so like BFFs yet in chinese culture we'll still call them 哥哥/妹妹) so it's hard to say. But if it is the former then.. personally for me, they are treading in murky waters. I find it a little difficult to believe/understand how someone can spend most of their life loving another person as a family member, then the next day do a complete 180 and say, I now see you as a romantic interest lol
I think even if not biologically, they are kind of siblings that’s why the whole dynamic is weird. I would have…
Interesting point of view! So it is more weird for them to be together as step siblings because of the labels given to them from society?
Let's say it was the ML's step mom that married into the family. (Technically still step siblings because step mom is still a mom) She and ML have a very strong bond and for one or more reasons she essentially raised him up and together with the FL. So then in this scenario, it wouldn't be weird for them to date?
What if the ML's mom and FL's dad were only friends/neighbors as their children were growing up but decided to get married later on when the kids are already grown up? Will that still be weird for ML and FL to date as they are labeled as "step silbings" to the public but they never shared a familiar bond growing up?
for those who are upset/offput by the main lead’s relationship/situation, I am curious. Is it just because they are considered siblings from a ‘legal’ standpoint, or morally do you think something is wrong as well?
I definitely think this is a case by case scenario, and the drama would have benefited if they spent a few minutes in the earlier few episodes explaining more about the family dynamics instead of keeping it so vague. (ie, when did the parents get married) But from watching the drama (up to ep.18 so far) you get a sense of their family life, which seems to show that the ML’s mom married into the FL’s family and that the FL, her dad, her younger bro, and ML’s mom are essential one unit/family while the ML would visit his mom ever so often growing up. This is deduced by how the house situation is set up, where there is a bedroom for the FL and younger bro, but no place for the ML to “move back into” after coming home from studying/working abroad.
Another point that is telling how much of a “sibling” relationship the main leads shared is when they didn’t even recognize each other in the start of the drama. I think this only shows how much time they actually spent together growing up, how close their relationship is as “siblings”, and how much (if even) they keep up with each other’s lives throughout the years. With the timeline of things and their 7 year age gap, it looks like they could have only spent a few years together growing up before FL leaves for college, which I think would be a safe place to assume their communication stopped as it wouldn’t make sense for them to stay in touch yet not recognize each other later (since by then, the FL is no longer a child and her facial features should more or less be set) I mention the age gap because my sister and I are that many years apart and let’s just say.. when you are 16, there is only so much you can do/bond over with a 9 year old.. their relationship would be cordial at best lol
If it were me, I would actually find it more weird to become romantically attracted to a boy (not related to biologically or legally) that I grew up with from toddler->kid->preteen->teenage years (so pretty much a sibling in my eyes, but not in the eyes of the law) than someone who is a step sibling that I spent a few years with ever so often when he comes over to visit.
Ahhhhhhh I don't want this story to be overrrrr! Thoroughly enjoyed this drama from start to finish♡ From the cast, to the storyline, the CGI, and the OST💯 Will most likely rewatch and read the translated novel when it is all out☺
I really want to just go and read the novel but I don't want to read a generated translated version of the book.…
ahhh i feel you tho! i understand the gist of it but those ancient chinese terms in xianxia/wuxia dramas i definitely need translating for as well~ at least we get to physically see the ending in a week's time ahaha😂

Ahahaha omg sorry late reply but yes same here! I was planning to wait til the whole translation is out before reading.. just waiting for one is better than having to wait for both. But luckily only one more week to go!!! Although they really know how to end episode 46 and make us wait a week for the last three.. x.x
Why wuhan insisted on attacking hochi. Why everyone was silent on her attrocity in attacking her
She wanted to kill Hou Chi because she knows she is pretty much Shang Gu's reincarnation. She didn't want Shang Gu to come back because Shang Gu would have memories of all the bad shit Wuhuan has done this past 60,000 years (Shang Gu only doesn't because Bai Jue decided to take away those painful memories of Hou Chi & Qing Mu and also make it easier for him to carry out his final plan)
I believe the very farfetched reasoning why people just watched in silence was because Wuhuan said *roughly* "although True God Bai Jue has forgiven her causing a scene at the wedding, the Heaven Realm isn't as nice. If we just let her go then all the immortals would believe that the Heaven Realm isn't a place where they'd need to respect..." just her excuse to try to get rid of Shang Gu..
UGHHHHHHH I hate how Bai Jue has to act so cold and heartless during the third arc but I loved how they included the part where he pretended to be FengRan when his son came into the room which made the audience see the soft and loving side of him since he was the one who actually took Yuan Qi out to play and eat♡♡
Hmm also I'm pretty sure Bai Jue somehow knew of Wuhuan's plan because there is no way in hell that she was successful in killing two True Gods in the span of like 10 minutes and only with 3 more episodes to go! Lol this week of waiting is going to be brutal...
