I'm still on episode 4, so I'm a little hesitant to opine on the drama as a whole just yet, but I can't help but…
while i do agree that the detective had no backstory aside from his job, the other characters decisions make sense to me. for her former friend, she got the funds to invest in boudoir illegally and she wanted to seem like she did not have a motive to kill her and therefore be a suspect. technically sarah kim did not sue her, she used her employees' identity to sue her. so at first glance it would not be noticeable to the police. for her lover he thought she was dead and he felt guilty because he thought he was to blame for her death. for the exhusband i don't want say why i think he spoke to the police because i don't want to spoil you since you're on episode 4.
you say this so confidently yet you haven't even watched 100 kdramas.
you’re stating your assumptions as facts, but they don’t match what’s actually in most kdramas. the majority of shows don’t highlight the sexual or dating history of either lead. you’re narrowing in on a handful of examples and treating them as the standard when they aren’t.
saying “every kdrama does this” doesn’t make it true.

you’re asserting industry wide trends while also admitting you don’t watch the dramas long enough to know what they contain.
the dynamic you’re insisting is everywhere isn’t common at all. in fact, most kdramas never discuss the characters’ sexual history in the first place. your argument is based on assumptions, not on what’s actually in the genre.

in fact, most kdramas never mention anyone’s sexual history at all.
