And let's not talk about poisoning that always leads you to coughing blood to death...
lol every antagonist needs some poison! It's their preferred weapon of choice, if done right undetectable.

As soon as I see a drop of blood from the mouth in any drama I'm convinced the are going to die lol

I just finished watching Eternal Love(TMOPB) and I loved it because it's my third Historical show and second if…
I take breaks between each drama, sometimes over a month before I start another one so I don't get overwhelmed. Eternal Love was also my first fantasy drama I'd watched and I'll admit I almost dropped it because of the CGI, but I persisted hoping the story would make up for it which it did in my opinion.

Ashes of love was my second fantasy drama and the CGI in that was a lot better than Eternal Love. I loved that drama so much, but like you said because Eternal Love was my first it will always hold a special place in my heart.

suggestions for a start, from recent dramas that come to mind : Ashes of Love and The Untamed.--happy endings,…
Thanks for reading the article!

I really liked "Princess Wei Young" and I'll also watch some of the KDrama's you mentioned too. I've only seen one KDrama "Empress Ki" and I loved that drama so much apart from the weak Emperor.

Some of them really do utilize the number of episodes and thrive off of it, others not really. Give it a shot…
Thanks for reading the article!

I agree, some episodes can drag. The culture always brings you back though....

Nice! I'd like to watch a Chinese drama, but I'm scared of the ep length lol
Thanks for reading the article!

lol I'm always complaining that they don't make series long enough in my country, so when I found historical romance with sometimes 70+ episodes that are an hour long I was in heaven. There's an old saying "You can never get enough of a good thing" and that's exactly how I feel about these drama's.

King's woman is my favorite Chinese drama because of the actors especially Dilraba Dilmurat, I just love her,…
I gasped and didn't breathe for what felt like minutes at the end. I couldn't accept it, I just didn't want to accept that they wouldn't be together. King's woman was and still is my favorite.

I have watched several historical dramas, and one of my favorite is Goodbye My Princess because of everything,…
Thank you for reading the article!

I know what you mean "Goodbye My Princess" is one of my favorite drama's. I still can't listen to the soundtrack yet lol

Yes, the costumes and hair accessories are amazing! To think actual women wore these beautiful dresses and hairstyles back then. I've read some of the dresses for these drama's can cost thousands of dollars to make! I can't imagine wearing something so luxurious.

Historical Dramas are pure fantasy..They may have some details that are realistic but I would not want to be living…
Thanks for reading the article!

There are many examples of great love stories throughout history that are very much real which have inspired fictional writers for thousands of years. Cleopatra and Marc Anthony! Heloise and Abelard! Ines De Castro and King Pedro are just a few.

In those times women did not have rights and depended solely on their husbands. Some women used their husband's power and influence to carve her own place of position and power within court/society. Women may not have had rights back then, but that didn't stop them from climbing that ladder of power in their own way if they desired. You can't beat a resourceful woman who can manipulate the people around her even a King, that is real power! Many women had immense power throughout history, Anne Boleyn a mere mistress brought an entire country to it's knees because she wouldn't agree to marry the King unless he divorced his legal wife and made her the Queen. She wasn't going to accept being just a mistress/concubine and she used the King like a puppet for years. Until the honeymoon period wore off as you put it and he chopped off her head so he could marry someone else. Their love story was nice to begin with, and Anne Boleyn was a strong woman for her time, but it all ended tragically. Yet another example.....

Not all men change into monsters when they marry who beat and abuse their wives. But, I hear what you're saying so I think if a woman back then did find herself in that situation with a horrible man for a husband she could always just poison him like so many other's have done in the past. In fact women are still poisoning their husbands today though not so much now I'll admit lol
