Will the subbing of this series continue till ending? Thank you in advance!
Oh that is great news. AVV has it subbed till ep 15 but Dramacool has it subbed till ep 21. If you are connected to AVV and you are planning to start working on it soon, it would be great if you start to sub 22-26 first since 16-21 subbed are already available on Drama-cool. Please leave a message here when you start subbing again if that ok. This drama is hilarious and so fun, would love to finishit.
Watchable for that in-between time when no other dramas strike your fancy. Acting is soso, characters are kind of one-dimensional. FL is um... entitled. Its kind of fun to watch her and her antics though. ML is as she calls him, boring. Still it had its moments. We don't get to see them use their powers too often but when they do its pretty cool. I laughed so much when speedy becomes...... um, different. The last 2 eps were kind of shockers and in a way it was cool seeing the scriptwriters just .... um... going a bit crazy. haha. Kind of Game Of Thrones shocking. The ending... um, made no sense but whatever... haha.
omg this was exactly i was confused about maybe you could try ondramanice or a site. but throughout the whole…
I just checked dramacool and wow the subs so much better but quality of video lower. cant win. Did you watch ep 21 yet? just finished with the bad subs of Amazon and wtf? (small spoiler maybe)..........
So for anyone watching this now, Dramacool has MUCH better English subs than the official sites, Amazon and Youtube. Strange. Of course Amazon and Youtube are HD and dramacool is not so choose worse quality but subs that make sense or good quality and bad subs. I watched till 20 on the official sites and was soo confused and frustrated with the subs and now just tried dramacool and regret wasting my time for 20 eps not understanding well. Strange that a paid official site like Amazon would not get a native speaker or someone proficient to do the subtitles.
I do agreed with you regarding the casting for the ML. IMO, Zheng Ye Cheng's character in Love of Thousand year…
Yeah feel the same about both Nini and Chen Kun. I watched his lost in 1949 and it was good but a totally different genre. Though I felt it gave me some insight into Chinese history " from China's censored perspective" and why people wanted to change to communist party that I never knew about or was really interested in before. Yeah I definitely lean towards Romance. As for action, I'll look into the ones you mentioned. Legend of Fu Yao and Princess Agents are nice action ones if you have not seen yet. are you into Korean dramas? Follow Jang Hyuk? His older historical dramas are intense and amazing action. (Tree with deep roots, Chuno, Shine or Go Crazy, and The Merchant) I found most of the action I like are Korean actually. For Chinese I find myself mostly drawn to romantic wuxia or xianxia. :)
Is he taking a break finally? Usually he always has another drama lined up. Hoping he does another Romance based Main Lead Historical Drama again. I LOVED him in Shine or Go Crazy - but it seems nowadays he only gets cast in non-romance dramas, or romance dramas with many young actors who get a lot of screen time and story mostly focuses on them. Imagine if he was main lead in Wok of Love... that story would have been so much more interesting. And he did great of course in My Country but because he outshines his co-actors so easily I could not focus on the main story and was just waiting for his scenes... Miss the dramas that are all about him.
What? is this real?? oh hope they keep Original cast and most importantly original scriptwriter and director because the first one was PERFECT. Please let this be one of those rare sequels that is better than the original! (because better than perfect is perfectissimo!)
I do agreed with you regarding the casting for the ML. IMO, Zheng Ye Cheng's character in Love of Thousand year…
Just started watching "Love of a Thousand Years" to compare Zheng Ye Cheng's acting and yeah, WOW, he acts really well in that drama. That role fits him perfectly too. So I totally agree with you @Just another Fan. He is a good actor but was just miscast in this "General" role. He is beautiful to watch and the story is titilating and enjoyable if not deep, so I will keep watching this drama as it comes out but will have to fill in a lot in my head. Just a shame for lost potential. :)
Right now I have watched tooo many dramas so there are not many left. My three favorite super Re-Watchable Chinese are "Ashes of Love, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, and Romance of Tiger and Rose". My three favorite epic though maybe not as re-watchable Chinese are "Rise of the Phoenixes, Story of Ming Lan, and (though ending was WTF) I Will Never Let You Go. I hope other dramas of those quality are made in the near future.
So I am on ep 15. My biggest confusion is.... WHY does the ML love her? I mean so far what I can understand is: He saw her banging on a drum in an immersive painting and was impressed that she didn't give up. 2 main things I am confused about are, (i) was that immersive picture from this lifetime? Or her past life 1000 years ago? If it was from this lifetime what is the 1000 title thing about? (ii) Is all his intense love just because of that one scene of her banging on a drum and her strong will then? His love is clearly not based on her appearance or her body, because of ...........(what happens in the end of first ep) , so its not a "love (lust) at first sight" kind of deal. ......So when/How/Why is he so head over heels in love with her (soul)???
If all his love is based on only that one drum scene and her determination in that scene I find its a bit disappointing, as there are a lot of determined people in the world so why her? haha (please bear with me trying to find logic in drama). Also, he apparently wants to give the FL a simple worry free life..... but that makes no sense if he is attracted to her strength of character and determination. Its like him saying.... "I am attracted to trait A that you have, BUT, Now that I already like you (because of trait A), I want you to completely give up on trait A (that made me fall in love with you) and become a normal simple person without trait A (which is the reason I fell in love with you)...... So.... if anyone can enlighten me a little bit about these confusions I might be able to enjoy the rest of the drama more. <3
Besides the confusing in the story, as to the acting so far.... It's great! I came here after watching some of "The Sleepless Princess" because I felt in that drama Zheng Ye Chang seemed to have been miscast or missed the mark on acting but everyone was saying he is a good actor, so I came here to see if his acting is good in another role and YES, wow he is great. Zheng Ye Chang fits this role perfectly and his subtle expression on his face, his little smiles, changing effortlessly to flirty then serious, I agree that he definitely has acting chops. I also LOVE the FL (Zhao Lu Si/Rosy) here and have loved her other works: "Romance of Tiger and Rose", and "Love vs Immortality" (highly recommended)
So far the plot of this Drama is interesting and draws you in but is confusing. I wonder how much of the subtleness and nuances of the plot is lost due to the bad subtiles. Apparently both Amazon and You-tube have the same bad subs with some places skipped or missed. Does anyone know a sight with better subs?
I do agreed with you regarding the casting for the ML. IMO, Zheng Ye Cheng's character in Love of Thousand year…
I do enjoy this drama. I was just baffled why people were comparing it to Tiger and Rose and some people were complimenting the acting. To me Tiger and Rose was a clever uniquely written script with two very talented and expressive actors. This drama is just a sexy rom-com with titilating scenes and attractive leads who were either miscast/directed badly, or missed the mark on the acting. So personally I don't think these dramas can really be compared at all.
This is an easy to watch "feels" drama with cliched borderline "bodice ripper" scenes that excite the female (or male) watchers that enjoy that sort of thing. A dungeon with a blindfold and candle? check. FL Getting pushed down on the bed roughly? check. FL Getting manhandled and almost forced? check. FL getting picked up with no say in the matter? check... lol. Lots of implied "desire/lust" by the ML and other male leads? check. Allusions to virginity and how the woman's worth is tied to her purity and virginity (even though she looks and acts seductive)? Check.
All fun stuff to watch for those that like it. And of course the script just teases and doesn't go too far with the S/M themes. Fantasy almost non-con but still safe scenes like that are what probably push the whole script along. And of course cause its an Asian drama even though they imply all that lust and possible dominant/submissive scenes both leads are pure and virginal as usual. The ever present sexy but pure leads of asian dramas.
I think with different casting and a more serious tone this drama might have had more depth to it. But as the whether by faulty directing or acting, both Main actors show very little emotion regardless of what happens and nothing seems to phase them, therefore none of the intense dramatic scenes have much impact on the viewer...so in my opionon mostly this drama survives off of its Sexy/Pure cliches. I still enjoy watching it but it is closer and better compared to the pure fluff "intense love" than the brilliant script and acting of Tiger and Rose.
I'm only on ep 2 but am confused why the ratings are so hard and why some people have mentioned this is better than Tiger and Rose. The story is cute and everything is visually appealing. But neither the ML or FL seem to be able to act. Especially the ML, he has the same facial expression in every situation. I am confused cause some comments have mentioned he is a good actor. He seems slightly amused with a small smile on his face the whole time no matter how crazy, dangerous, surprising, etc situation he is in. Plus he is supposed to be some strong super general who can kill easily and has subdued enemies but he just looks like some baby-faced smiling pretty boy the whole time. The FL has a few more facial expressions but so far (ep 2), some really crazy things have happpend to her but she is just happy bubbly and doesnt seem surprised or scared by anything. Not sure if it is the directing or the acting or both.... Hope it gets better.. The second male lead and the other male friend of 2ndML have much better facial expressions. I know it says he is supposed to be stone-faced but that usually means a serious brooding strong expression that emotes through the eyes mostly. Not a flat slightly happy slightly amused face with non-changing eyes on a baby pretty boy face... whats up?
was a pretty watchable drama. The chemistry of the main couple was good - lots of skinship service, plot mostly light and cute first part, then about halfway it was like a cartoon where all the villans and heros stand around monolouging explaining how they did things. was not fond of that and blame the script writers and directors... still i kept watching.. then nearing the end suddenly a bunch of angst and misunderstandings .... really stupid ones. but.... looks like maybe they get/got resolved??? ...and then.... ... and then.... who knows? abrupt ending . yuck.... overall. Its a long but relatively easy drama to watch. Fully subbed on Amazon Prime.. There are some really great things and some urgh things.... still, i didnt hit the FF button much so it kept me entertained for a number of days. if you like the FL i think its worth a watch. just keep your expectations low.
Does anyone know where to watch episode 17 with english subs or at least find a recap? Dramacool has the subs but the wrong episode on ep 17. I found it raw elsewhere but it seems like such an important episode so want to know what they were saying.
Wait he said that. I do too then!Honestly I wish that was a more common thing. I feel too attached to certain…
I think you will love Romance of Tiger and Rose so definitely go to that one next. Ive watched ALOT of Chinese dramas but so far I have felt only 3 dramas are ones that I have given 10s to and I felt go by like eating cake, and are also super worthy to rewatch and its in that TOP list for me. AoL, TMoPB and RoT&R. :) Some other good ones to watch now are Fake Princess and Romance of Hua Rong season 1 (season 2 is draggy but some might like it) for light lovely romances with some drag though in middle or end. Also if you have not seen them yet, some slightly older epic and intense dramas I think are 10s but might be too intense or painful to rewatch or (lose some of their charm/surprise on re-watch) are: Ming Lan Story, I will Never let you Go, and Rise of the Phoenixes
Important to anyone watching on Netflix. A very important scene at the end of episode 37 is cut on Netflix. After you watch that episode go onto another platform like dramacool to see the scene. The scene is right before Jinmi wakes up and touches her heart in episode 38. It explains why the character changes. I have no idea why Netflix versions cut this scene. I wonder if other scenes are also cut that I have not noticed.
Basically a really lovely drama and I reccomend it, though it does drag in the middle and again at the end. I absolutely LOVED the beginning of this drama, couldn't wait for the next ep and it was binge-worthy. It was cute and unique and unpredictable.. then Ep 11 was a shocker showing that the actions of the characters had real consequences. and I thought the drama might change and take a more serious deeper tone, but was still expecting it to keep the same high entertainment value... but the the events of ep 11 were resolved in a way that was for me kind of anti-climactic, blah, and huh? and after that I found myself hitting the FF button through many of the eps. Also the side relationships which were cute in the begining began to drag and by the end I really didnt care about them at all and just FF them. The drama did start to pick up again around ep 20, There are some cute surprises and plot twists that are not super predictable. And the simple healthy love between the leads is refreshing.. Very rare to have a healthy non-toxic romantic relationship in a drama. The ending was satisfying though for me a little boring.
I have to agree with everyone else. I recently created my own YouTube channel and I make sure the BG never overpowers…
I may be wrong but I've noticed most of the new dramas on Youtube have ridiculously loud BGM that overpowers the talking and suddenly cuts out.... I dont think it was originally like that, but like how they mute it sometiimes I think they maniplulate the sound balance when they upload it to avoid copyright issues. I have never noticed such a problem on netfliix or amazon and on drama-cool only the videos that are copies of Youtube videos have that issue... I find it strange that these channels are even able to upload so many dramas if there is a copyright issue even without the sound. I am greatful for them but wish they just resolve with the intelectual property owners and add add revenue or something. Though it is nice to watch without random commercials Wonder whiich is better... commercials or weird bad sound balance and muting...
It's on Netflix. Its called "Fated to Love You". If you don't have netflix its also on "dramacool". If you google "watch Fated to Love You online" a bunch of links will come up. The main actor n the Korean version is called "Jang Hyuk". He is amazing, top actor in Korea and also handsome in manly way, not in idol/beautiful way. Once you watch one of his dramas very likely you will want to watch all of them.... falling deeper in the "drama hole". Best of luck!
Did you watch ep 21 yet? just finished with the bad subs of Amazon and wtf? (small spoiler maybe)..........
everyone was Zombies? lol. ---
