There was no toxicity in this relationship. They were just playing a game of flirting with each other while he…
They both initially lacked good communication skills which brought a lot of issues in their relationship. Not just them, but the second leads as well. Please see:
"Often, toxic relationships (toxic friendships exist too), involve lots of poor communication. When communication is less healthy, stress ensues small problems can become larger problems and resentment can grow."
With Shu Yi, it was understandable because her first relationship seemed to not really taught her how to be in a healthy one. Shi Yan was matured enough though, to save the relationship. Then she eventually learned from it.
FAQs: -Was their initial love story toxic? Yes. The only grown-up in the story is Mr. Fan. lol -Did the last few episodes make up for it? Yes, for me it was satisfying enough to finish the drama until the end. -Will you have watched it if the leads weren't Bai Lu and Wang He Di? Hmm, depends on the actors if they have the same kind of chemistry and they acted well like them. TBH, their visuals were very good. I hope they do another drama together. -Will you rewatch it again? -Yes and no, I'll just rewatch the bonus episode with better subtitles. Lol
Shu Yi is the most beautiful girl in all of China with all three handsome men coming up to her asking to sit beside her. I mean, I'll choose them all! 😍
I think the title and marketing for the drama led people to expect something different. Have you seen the trailer?…
Nope, I haven't seen the trailer for this. I just randomly chanced upon this C-drama lol I see, maybe because the title is Romance on the Farm and what we really got is toxic family drama on the farm haha
Just an 8.0? I think this C-drama deserves a higher rating. Yes, there are a lot of frustrating characters here (still a bar tolerable than Filipino dramas though lol), but the story is interesting and the leads are really good. Even the OST. It's one of the good C-dramas released this year.
Also joining the bandwagon in theorizing that Shen Nuo is also a player and he and Man Er will meet in the real world. Because if not, we will all throw a fit like Man Er's grandma! Lol
Have you watched Love Like the Galaxy, Zhao Lu Si's drama last year? It's the same actress who played her mum…
Right?! Like maybe the long war made her a psycho mother or something lol Well at least in the end, she finally learned how to be a good mother to Cheng Shao Shang. And in an alternate universe in Hidden Love, she was a very good one haha
actually this drama doesn't have a very special storyline, but the love between SZ and DJX has revived this drama…
Have you watched Love Like the Galaxy, Zhao Lu Si's drama last year? It's the same actress who played her mum too there but with a very (very, very) different personality/motherly love than in Hidden Love.
No. 🥇 in MDL for top C-Dramas and overall (even beating out K-dramas)! Hidden Love is getting all the love it deserves! 💗
For those who are still wondering or hesitating to watch this drama, just give it a try! It has a good storyline (nothing very stressful), lots of heartwarming scenes, nice visuals (Zhao Lu Si's clothes here are pretty and looks good on her!), beautiful soundtrack (Forever Star is especially written for this drama), superb acting (even the micro-expressions of the leads are spot-on), perfect chemistry between the main leads and even the supporting cast (sibling chemistry between Zhao Lu Si and Victor Ma, which we often don't get from dramas), and I don't know what else to say to convince you, the rankings don't lie! I will definitely miss waiting for new episodes to come. Congratulations to the cast and crew of Hidden Love! ❤️
OST of this drama is also beautiful. Does anyone know if Forever Star was especially written for this drama? Because the song fits Duan Jia Xu's love story with Sang Zhi perfectly. ❤️
This day ended with all the episodes out plus a special one. I wasn't emotionally prepared to part with this drama today as I expected it to end next week. Now, I don't know what to do with my life. 🥹
Happy first anniversary to this C-drama, the reason why I joined MDL! Still my top favourite, but almost on par with another Zhao Lu Si's current drama, Hidden Love. ❤️❤️❤️
