The bloopers were funny đ I was in awe with that sword-throwing scene and I didnât realise that it was also hard to film that perfectly. Love Zishengâs boys and was happy they didnât die til the end!
That officer zhuo reallycan't keep his mouth shut. i wish the 3rd prince or YS or general wan or even the emperor…
I love the part where they showed the transition scenes where the Emperor asked him his name as a kid then his real name as an adult. That one has a special place in my heart! đ„ș
I have not seen the rest of the show, but I truly do appreciate you calling out the issues for what it with the…
I guess years of emotional and physical abuse inside the Lou residence took a toll on their mental health so they did what they did đ€· Then they werenât even the final boss of the show lol Anyway, enjoy watching the rest of the episodes! đ
^ Definitely all thoughts I've had as well. Especially with Consort Yue and the Empress, I loved the scenes with…
Right??? Those bratty princesses doesnât understand that they have 2 wonderful mothers inside the palace! đ And yes, we just got an imaginary wedding scene for Zisheng and Niaoniao thatâs even shot at the back and thatâs it. No complaints still, this drama is such a gift to humanity âš Lol
Since Iâm having serious withdrawal syndrome for this drama that will probably last for some days, I canât help but think about what transpired in the fast track episodes:
-The residents of the Marquis Quling mansion had their fair share of lovely final moments in the show. But they certainly left out Third Uncle and Third Aunt. For me, that was unacceptable because they were like the first parents for Niaoniao since they actually took care and looked out for her in Hua County. Even Niaoniaoâs grandmother had her redemption arc towards the end and a final scene looking up at the night sky but none for these two. A short scene where they showed them happy with little kids would have been good.
-They totally didnât include Niaoniaoâs first brother and his family in the story as they were just mentioned in a few scenes. I guess they didnât play important roles in the novel for the production team to actually not cast the actors for the part. But it would have been a little satisfying to see the whole clan together even in one scene.
-There are so many antagonists in this drama that I lost track of how many there are. I keep on recalling who is the most compelling antagonist since most of them are shallow and obtuse (especially the girls). But maybe itâs the Lou Ben and Wang Yanji couple for me. They seem like a genuinely nice couple from the start so I didnât expect theyâll go berserk towards the end. Lou Ben can easily collude with Zisheng since he knows he is capable and will have his back no matter how much his Uncle will try to sabotage his chances of climbing up the ranks. But he chose the shortcut to a dead end instead. Such a poor choice for someone very scholarly. And as for Yanji, what happened to her was indeed very unfortunate but she should know that her husbandâs death was not definitely Niaoniaoâs fault. Her husband made his choice and the root cause was the Lou First Chamber. She should have ended her killing spree with Lou Li (who was a b*tch until the end). I donât want to say that they deserved the ending they got since their lives were hell inside the Lou residence, but they could have taken a better path than what they chose if they just teamed up with the right people.
-I found the quadruple Cheng residence wedding scene cute. I didnât expect that Qingcong and Liangfeng will get married as well. Their loyalty was treasured by the Cheng family that they celebrated the 4 unions at the same time. Itâs just apt for Niaoniao to not attend the event since at that time, she didnât get to have hers and the celebration might be heartbreaking to see.
-I fully understand now why in the first 50+ episodes, we didnât get to see much interaction between the Third Prince and Zisheng because they kept their closeness underwraps so that no one would suspect them. This duo was sure to be very cunning and well-versed with palace politics even if basically, we know that itâs Zisheng whoâs secretly running the palace and the Emperor is secretly running a Zisheng and Niaoniao ultimate fans club. Lol
-Iâve said this before and Iâll say it again, the level of understanding between the Empress and Consort Yue is very touching. Of all the period dramas Iâve watched, this is the first one where the Empress and Consort has no bad blood between one another. None directed towards the Emperor too. They usually try to kill each other for power and/or revenge but these 2 just want quiet lives. Their personalities differ but they compliment one another. This is why I want to know the history of the 3 to understand how their relationships came to be. I urge the producers and writers to make a spin-off of the series that will revolve around the younger lives of the Emperor, Empress and Consort Yue and how they managed to rule.
-This love story is very refreshing for me because we got to see how each of them grew individually with their experiences and how their relationship evolved through time. In their break-up, I understood where both of them are coming from and why Zisheng chose the path of revenge and Niaoniaoâs unforgiving resolve. Zisheng made a promise to his aunt while Niaoniao has serious abandonement issues. It was heartbreaking to watch when they separated but wonderful at the same time because it felt very human. Neither was wrong nor right.
-I didnât read the novel but the readers said that Zisheng and Niaoniao had 6 kids together. I guess Zisheng wants to ensure that the Huo clan will get many descendants or maybe the Emperor demanded for it. Lol It would have made all the fans ecstatic if they probably showed a short wedding scene then a time jump with them playing with their kids. But all in all, seeing the whole new Cheng clan gazing up the night stars in the end was satisfying as well.
Iâll probably still have more thoughts in the future but these lingers in my mind. Lol
I had mixed emotion when I finished it. They have 90% stayed true to the novel, until the reconciliation part.…
Whoah! I didnât read the novel but thatâs also something I would have wanted to see. With Wu Lei and Zhao Lu Siâs acting skills, this would have been a piece of cake for the both of them. I still wonât complain because it is such a good show and gift to humanity lol
Interesting that it's actually LBY stoled CP tiger seal, but people blaming SS so much (((
This is why Lu Wei said that LBY is a scary character and heâs correct Lol But when he loves, he loves hard. So itâs like, heâs a 10 but is a psychopath. Haha
All episodes are now subbed đ
