I think he was old enough to remember things when the clan went to war and he just accepted the arrangement that he’ll go as Ling Bu Yi also for his ill aunt (acting mother) in the place of her real son.
2. We all know that Yuan Shen and Shao Sang will be engaged while Zisheng is gone for 5 years. But what will be the reason for them to break the bethrotal?

I don’t get the whole idea of staying away from palace’s issues when General Ling put Shao Sang right in the middle of it. He’s part of the royal family and now they’re engaged, she is part of it too. Even if Shao Sang silently hides in the corner of the palace, she will not be spared of any issues if any of the misbehaving princesses starts to meddle with her. Her natural instinct is to fight back, so she did. And why wouldn’t she help the only mother figure she had all her life, again that's her personality and personal belief. Don’t do unto others what you don’t want others to do unto you. That’s why I get why Shao Sang is very confused on what General Ling wants and his way of ‘protecting’ her by keeping her in the dark. But I think, they will resolve this issue and make up. Lol
So we’re entering the part where LBY and CSS will have more and more interactions and will realize their deep feelings for each other!
Love that this show has a really nice emperor, empress, and consort who doesn’t try to kill each other for power unlike the other dramas. CSS is already approved by those 3 so the rest of the bitchy princesses and unimportant relatives can choke!

I'm also eagerly waiting for the news about part 2! I heard the team is working hard to edit the scenes as they were rushed to release the series earlier than planned. Hopefully they're already on the last leg of editing or better yet, done with it so they can release it soon. 🙏
I agree! What’s even funnier is that they fabricated a story after and rehearsed the lines for CSS only for General Ling to answer all of His Majesty’s questions at the end. Hahaha

Highlights of Episode 19-20: 1. General Ling’s third message to Cheng Shao Shang. 2. Cheng Shao Shang’s mother finally fought for her daughter and slapped the hell out of First Madam Lou with Cheng Shao Shang doing the same to that spoiled brat Lou Li. 3. His Majesty kicking General Ling twice and him kneeling back immediately. It didn’t hurt him one bit but his Majesty hurt himself instead. Hahaha! 4. THAT FINAL SCENE OF EPISODE 20! General Ling appearing out of nowhere to hug Cheng Shao Shang will haunt me in my dreams tonight! <3 <3 <3
