The Sect in which Tang Lici, Liu Yan, Fu Zhumei & Fang Zhou resides is called "Zhou Di Lou (周睇楼)" In ancient Chinese, "Zhou Di (周睇)" refers to "looking around", symbolizing a broad vision and a sense of vast artistic conception.
The Sect is known for a unique technique that is "Sonic Annihilation/Sound Kill". As the members of the Sect each member is associated with their own signature instruments/weapons.
Fang Zhou inherited the tradition of "Guqin" playing.
Fu Zhumei inherited the "Jiu Zhao Kui Hou (九诏夔吼)" Drum of the Roaring Kui, "Kui (夔)" is a fierce mythical creature in chinese mythology, used here to describe its powerful force.
Liu Yan inherited the "Lei Yin Hu lv (雷音忽律)", a Pipa with a loong(龙) head.
Tang Lici inherited the "Silver-Inlaid Jade Flute". A flute with the head of a fox loong(狐龙), brimming with artistic imagination with its sound bearing the roar/chant of a loong(龙).
“Even though I left that place a long time ago, the scenery still lingers in my dreams; the soft sound of bamboo still resonates as much as yesterday, like the roar of a dragon that still echoes in my heart without fading.”
Enjoy a glass of moonshine and exchange stories of the martial arts world with Tang Lici, Liu Yan, Fu Zhumei and Fang Zhou.
Hey, that’s me! This drama has been confirmed not to have a romantic love line. There is, however, bromance…
I am a weibo user and well aware of what kinds of posts being made. Do not underestimate Shui Long Yin, it has its plot concealed very well and has a lots more things to showcase. Stay vigilant and wait for the official premiere to see the real Shui Long Yin. Everything will become crystal clear and it will eventually find its way to the target audience.
That poisonous novel QJM, well, I read it and didn’t feel anything for anyone but Tang Lici, whom the author surrounded with interesting elements and then let him gather dust like an ornament on an old shelf in an abandoned house, while trying to enrich the background of the other characters. And frankly I don’t give a damn about this novel at all. Drama and its characters and plot is one thing i am interested in. QJM is not worth of bringing on the same table as SLY as it’s an insut to SLY.
It’s irrational to make theories on SLY based QJM when the plot was completely rewritten by Otter and even changed from wuxia to xuanxia.
'Lotus Realm' does not exist in the novel so whatever your intention was about heavenly lighting punishment, don’t try to drag Drama Tang Lici into this dirt. Our A’Li is very innocent and I have not seen anyone criticizing him other than some people on MDL.
And you have misled people in past by claiming with the certainty there is romance and no excuse can undo that.
The official sources (& the cast themselves) have never mentioned Tang Lici’s love interest, let alone mentioning Ah Shui as his love interest. Nowhere it is mentioned for a possibility of romance in the drama. From the start to now SLY has been marketing Tang Lici, sole male lead. Show me the written or oral format mentioning the possibility of romance & Tang Lici’s love interest. And We shall see whether they mention it during the promotion of drama near its airing or not.
So a post made by migu that went into hibernation, traced as back as June 2024 with no mention of 'Ah Shui being his love interest' does not make any difference.
— Guardians of the Dafeng, The Immortal Ascension, Go to the Mountains and Seas, Joy Of Life, Legend of ZangHai etc, all have female leads and an official match for male leads. They might have some similarities to Shui Long Yin here and there but they are all incomparable to Shui Long Yin.
Shui Long Yin is not just a drama but also an innovative approach, the ONE-MALE-CENTRIC drama, fusion of xuanhuan(fantasy) and wuxia(martial arts); xuanxia. Blending the cthulhu style with eastern fantasy. Displaying the chivalrous spirit of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, which “travels both inside and outside to helps the world”. There is not been anything like that made into china yet. It has a sole lead with rest of the cast being supporting. No female lead. No other male lead. No romance.
What distinguished Shui Long Yin from other well-written shows is its capacity to be surprising in lots of ways. We are so used to normal tv narratives that we often (right) believe we know how the plot unfolds but we actually don’t. what we see is not what necessarily it is, sometimes it's a trick of the plot or the production.
None of the 10 CPs is the official CP. All the support roles are entangled with Tang Lici. That is why on weibo there is a topic discussion about 10 CP, this is just for fun. (Shen Langhun, Chi Yun, Zhong Chunji, Yu Furen, Xi Fangtao, Fang Zhou, Ah Shui, Liu Yan, Puzhu, Gui Mudan... they all fall for Tang Lici in their twisted ways. But the only people who managed to remain in Tang Lici’s heart are Fang Zhou, Chi Yun & Liu Yan) Thus the reason why it gives people 'Bromance vibes' & not 'Romance vibes' because he does not feel the same emotions towards female characters as he does towards male characters.
Note : I said 'Bromance vibes', not bromance, not m/m relationship.
Tang Lici cherishes his sect brothers and values deep friendship, but does not indulge in any relationship, although he is flirtatious. The closest relationship Ah Shui could have with him is that of 'friendship' and nothing more than that.
And sorry to break it to you but the 'white moonlight' in Tang Lici’s life is Fang Zhou, not Ah Shui.
Regarding 'Renegade Immortal' (仙逆), I have read the original novel and watched all the available episodes of the donghua. The original novel is a harem story with three female leads alongside Wang Lin which might be changed to "Pure Love" story in the donghua, with Li muwan is the official female lead and match for Wang Lin. It is more in accordance with 'Record of Mortal’s Journey to Immortality' donghua (The Immortal Ascension) https://weibo.com/7905230270/5030085097167450
Hey, that’s me! This drama has been confirmed not to have a romantic love line. There is, however, bromance…
I believe you must know that Shui Long Yin targets and caters to the male-audience. It may go for a wider audience but it would still not be for the audience that watches romance dramas. If someone asks about something then they should be answered with the correct information, since it’s highly unlikely for romance to be there so how difficult is it to answer them with, "we do not know if there will be romance or not and wait for the drama"
"Since the drama has not broadcasted yet for others to confirm, any statement expressing confirmation or (100%) certainty about the presence or lack of romance can be misleading at this point"— how about you apply this statement on yourself first and stop with the "certainty" of Ah Shui being his love-interest.
Forming theories based on bts are all fan theories as well. Worse if they are based on the original source. What makes you so sure that the emotional entanglements (ambiguity, to be precise) between Tang Lici & Ah Shui will be that of romantic love, and not familian or something else? It would really do you some good by separating the drama from the novel.
At one point you are not sure if a particular leak will be in final cut or not but at the same time you behave like you are so sure about some leaks to be in the final cut, i’d say that’s quite impressive. At the end of the day, everything that’s been released before the airing of a drama is considered promotional material which may or may not provide any objective plot and can be deliberate misleading.
"I have always prefaced my responses with "may/ might" as there can be a small chance that it could or a chance it could not. That is not misleading." — Do you want us to send you all the screenshots of your past replies where you said with certainty that they is romance? Misleading people by claiming there is romance and driving them away by saying "it might not be for you" when they expressed they don’t want romance.
"I am just really looking forward to seeing her chemistry with Tang Lici, and maybe dishing out heavenly lightening punishment on him, some may find it very cathartic to see her punish him, preferably with heavenly lightening punishment" — Nah but do you think it’s xianxia? You think people are familiar with and know what to expect from these types of wuxia adventure dramas but you wish to see something like this? I wonder whether you want to watch Shui Long Yin or just a tragic love story b/w Tang Lici & Ah Shui.
A typical plot that global cdrama fans likes to watch. If you want that then just pick up any other xianxia, IMHO you are not the right audience for this drama.
And you seem to be pretty focused on Ah Shui’s importance in this drama and her relationship with Tang Lici than the drama itself. Do you actually think it would be TTJ-LSS kinda equation between TLC & AS just because both Black Moonlight & QJM has toxic love lines or because the production is same or because seeing the past dramas of LYX? Or do you think AS will hold similar weightage as of LSS in TTJ’s life? I would say to not set the expectations so high for her character that you’ll have to meet with disappointment in the end. The screenwriter of the drama is not the Author Teng Ping who despised and sabogated her own creation and stepped on Tang Lici. Seriously it’s really hard to please everyone.
Additionally, your certain reply under a comment comes off in a very wrong light, "it’s unlikely to have no romance given they casted a very beautiful actress to play the role" you are saying this on a public site and it’s literally interpreted as "beautiful actress are there to be just love-interests" by people on twitter.
It is said that Tang Lici will undergo seven mortal feeling, one of them is love. Now it can be love for a friend…
"Why should he at all?" what kind of absurd statement is this even? HE IS THE MAIN CHARACTER, THE PROTAGONIST, THE CELESTIAL BEING, THE ABSOLUTE POWER, THE UNATTAINABLE EXISTENCE... The vast land of shenzhou travels the way his heart desires.
As i mentioned in my original comment, the drama is drama, the book is book. Viewing the drama and its characters through the lens of the book is just setting yourself up for a major disappointment.
If you do not know what Shui Long Yin truly is and who Tang Lici truly is then it’s wise to simply wait for the broadcast of the drama, watch it and form your opinion on Tang Lici rather than spreading misinformation and judging/hating on him solely because of his book version.
If you want to talk about the scene at 2:13, i would like you to tell me the identity of the young boy standing on Tang Lici’s left side at 2:13. https://youtu.be/SdhZVlp_1m8?si=i6i0wven4Yv591vO
I could say that is Shui Long Yin is all about Tang Lici and if you have issues with that then it is not others’ problems. Live well in your illusionary realm.
Hello! I have posted a new topic with differences between the novel and screenplay all taken from cited sources,…
Thank you so much for providing a clarification. You are right in saying so, the drama is going off a completely different script with having very few similarities to the original source.
It is said that Tang Lici will undergo seven mortal feeling, one of them is love. Now it can be love for a friend…
The love that he experiences in his heart is universal, for the world and its people as a whole, not for just a friend or a brother or someone else. 历人间七情破江湖混沌 (experiencing the seven emotions and breaking through the chaos of the world) is Tang Lici’s self-discovery of his own self, the world and the mission that depends solely on him to save or condemn everything and everyone.

From Tang Lici & Liu Yan to Li Si & Meng Rui, they will once again be seen entangled with each other in another time and space.
