she aunty2 now, need lot of make up to cover that.
Wtf. She's literally 30 and still really pretty (I saw some of her more natural looks in this drama and they look way better than the ones with lots of makeup).

Chinese censors are going insane - why is this dark drama getting a Chinese title that translates to "under the sunlight"?

Are the characters' voices dubbed?
I'm pretty sure no one is dubbed by anyone else (even supporting cast). I know for sure the leads aren't dubbed.

does actually actually fight in this? like where i stopped she didn’t she didnt want to fight at all and the…
she does later on, though she never becomes a murder machine or anything. The other ladies are super badass so, does it matter that Wan Mei isn't super keen on killing innocent people?

Title Ever Night Spoiler
Honestly what was the point of giving us such a beautiful romance between Ning Que and Mo Shan Shan if they were…
I mean they had always planned the main romance to be Sang Sang and Ning Que (though I also find that weird? Like I do think it's a little too sibling-y to be to my liking but lots of other people ship them), so Mo Shanshan was always supposed be just the first girl that he liked, but didn't really "love". If anything maybe it was just supposed to show that he really cared for Sang Sang more than anyone else. But I'm really sad too, I always liked Ning Que and Shanshan the most (I only watched the show for Shanshan...)

Title Young Blood Spoiler
The synopsis seems to assign them all very stereotypical sexist abilities. Is this the case?
No! Yes Xiao Jing is seen as "weak" but she plays her own role in the group and helps everyone build trust with each other. Zhao Jian is just the best FL of all time, feminist, strong, intelligent, independent, high self esteem, everything I want from a FL! And the guys, though Wang Kuan seems to fit into the "heroic" stereotype, he's actually a pretty fun character. Yuan Zhongxin is clever and witty and often tricks his way around the world. Ya Nei is arrogant, but he's so funny! And also he grows so much in the show. And Xue Ying is supposed to be a silent fighter but he's really hilarious in his own right. So don't be put off by the synopsis! All the characters are great, funny, and are different from what you'd expect.

I'm actually watching because of WYB and the second person is ZHW. She is a golden horse and golden rooster award…
Honestly, I've read a few of bibi-bibi's comments and I've never seen them be the fire-starter of hate. Usually it was criticism (and criticism and hate are very different things) or a review, never something hateful. When someone responds with a totally off-topic and/or hateful comment, then they launch into offensive mode. But I can't blame them, I'd be upset if someone called me a snake or trash.

Even more convincing with an account created 4 days ago...
This comment was so respectful! Clearly they really watched the drama and I feel quite confident that these are their real opinions. Please don't try to hate on every single critic with this "fake account" BS, it's really quite degrading to those commenters who really have actual opinions and are trying to contribute to creating an accurate depiction of what this drama is like to any person who wishes to watch it. This drama isn't a masterpiece, but surely not the worst thing ever, and comments like these which carefully trace which aspects are good and bad are very helpful to any hesitating viewer!

most wuxia dramas do suffer from long plots and thus slow pacing, but if you haven't checked them out yet I'd…
yeah, I'd say they are "wuxia" but they aren't really solely wuxia or anything. Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils is another Jin Yong masterpiece so if you licked Legend of the Condor Heroes or Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber you might like that one! (Or The Smiling Proud Wanderer)

Exactly ...the age gap in wuxia and xianxia should not be considered ... plus zhao liying is pulling off her role…
Yeah I totally agree that ZLY doesn't look "old" but I don't think your idea of "it's a wuxia thus age gaps don't matter" is true. If this were solely a wuxia with no romance whatsoever, then sure, that's absolutely true. But there's romance in here, and with romance comes the issue of age gap. Now, I'm personally okay with it, but if someone doesn't like it for that reason, then they're not totally baseless.

Interesting that you said Joy of Life is wuxia......I don't think you understand wuxia or Jianghu. I know a lot…
I mean, in China people call historical dramas "guzhuang" or literally ancient clothing, and since in xianxia dramas everyone is in ancient clothing, by all technical means it belongs in that category. And besides, they speak in more historical sentences, practice historical events and holidays and hold more historical philosophies so it makes absolute sense that xianxia is a historical subgenre.

It's not really "hardcore" wuxia like the Jin Yong novels (as in nothing to do with politics mostly), but as the characters have martial arts abilities and there is clearly shown to be a jianghu (the ranking system basically solidifies the existence of a large community of martial arts practicers), it qualifies as wuxia. Same goes for Princess Agents. They do martial arts - hence wuxia. Very technically there are three main genres for guzhuang I'd say - wuxia, xianxia and strictly political (a good example would be Serenade of Peaceful Joy). And even if you didn't consider Princess Agents or JoL to be wuxia, shows like Love in Between and Ancient Detective are strictly wuxia (or jianghu, though that's not a genre? That's a concept/community?) and they are amazing so....

most wuxia dramas do suffer from long plots and thus slow pacing, but if you haven't checked them out yet I'd suggest Bloody Romance (pretty fast-paced drama), Young Blood, Ancient Detective, Love in Between and Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils.

are there any other movies that's as good as joy of life? it's probably the first politic movie I enjoyed watching.
Young Blood! It's written by the same screenwriter and the overall tone and genre is really similar (Young Blood has horrible cinematography but everything else is top notch). You could try Nirvana in Fire or it's sequel. The Rise of the Phoenixes is pretty good too.
