some people really like the relationship the ML and FL have, others find them boring. It's really kind of up to the viewer. But if you don't like ML and FL together there a few other ships for the ML that are work too.

How the hell is this masterpiece rated the same as some cute idol dramas? Yes I like cute idol dramas too but you have to admit the quality in just about everything (except chemistry between ML and FL) is far superior in JoL. Why do I feel like they changed the algorithm just so Kdramas would be higher? We all know previously the top ten was like 60% Cdramas (oddly enough). And now there's only 1 or 2 in the top ten.

I think that's mostly because people who revisit the comment section after the drama is over a ton are the ones who have a lasting (good) impression of the drama. Not necessarily because of the quality.

I'm assuming all the celeb guests try to solve murders together.

I mean, they are just kind of making observations. No need to hate for them on that. Long-time fans of the manhua will be (understandably) upset if they don't think the casting fits. And that's fine, so long as they don't trash the drama for that exact reason (which they haven't). And actually I can think of many actors who fit these two roles, but since they aren't playing these roles, it makes no sense to try to make my own version in my head. And "just a drama"... sometimes a drama can have a profound impact on a person's life. If a manhua inspired someone deeply and they have a sentimental connection to it, than they have all the right to be upset at a casting choice. But again, you have to draw lines. No one should hate on a drama or casting choices just because they feel the casting choices don't match.

I dropped it (even though I did want to cheer on some people I liked). I just really hate that the show went from "let's make a good acting show where people are judged on acting!" to "let's make the most dramatic show ever to try to gain profit!". I enjoyed the first season though.

But in their defense, these are two main flaws. Most shows of this type are completely unbelievable and you could find at least twenty flaws in one episode.

I actually think he did pretty good here. There are some scenes where I think he handled the emotions especially well. Massive improvement from ALSB and Go Go Squid.

I saw a clip of Gao Shan and Lin Wo reuniting and him replacing the revenge plot board with sticky notes that made the shape of a heart. So... happy ending? but there will probably be a lot of drama before that.

I don't really find Qiao Xin to be too stiff here. There are scenes where I wish she had a little more power, but overall, I find her performance believable enough. She has good chemistry with HYT too.

I've seen some trailers for the future episodes and I think they'll be a secondary couple. That will be interesting to see! I like both of their personalities.

For a drama that is really intense and dramatic, this show somehow manages to be funny too? The ex-boyfriend is an asshole, but that scene where he fell on the ground trying to hide his face made me burst out laughing. And kudos to the writers for making the SML and SFL really funny and interesting too!

what. Why should we value how "beautiful" the FL is when basically every single actress in the Chinese industry has to be beautiful. Especially in idol dramas. Audiences should care far more about the quality of the script and the acting ability. Besides, the female leads he has paired up with in the past are all very pretty.

Yeah, HYT's acting has improved soooo much since his debut. Maybe it's because his characters actually have personalities now? But there are scenes that I go like: "wow, I did not think HYT could act this well."

To be fair, I think she is a strong person, but is way too trusting and is easily consumed by her emotions. In her work, before it was super dramatic, she was successful because she could plan out things and it didn't require any sort of ability to handle unprecedented situations. But because she acted out of emotion, everything she's faced with is unprecedented, and not just unprecedented as in, oh the traffic is really bad today, but unprecedented as in, oh so this guy is actually a fake CEO. She's naive, and so it makes enough sense that she has no idea how to act in these cases. She knows how to plan against straightforward issues, not the subtle, psychological ones. I was annoyed at first with her inability to do something successful, but after her breakdown in episode 5 or 6 I suddenly understood the reality of the situation. I think it's done well-enough.

sadly MDL won't allow you to change a photo just because it doesn't look good. They need to have "significantly" changed appearance wise or something.

Well, I never watched that drama, sorry, but there are some light moments occasionally, though it is very intense, and especially in the latter half, it becomes very dramatic. But it is a great series and I definitely recommend!
