Some viewers might not have liked ep 5, 6 but I liked it, the writing and script should come out with realistic…
I feel like most reviews i've read are calling the writers out for "failing the show" by making the characters unlikeable or by ruining reletionships between them. But it is the whole point right? When it comes to power and money, there is no way things are gonna stay the same. There is no innocent people. I left a comment the other day because i couldn't get how infuriating or unelikeabke characters = bad show in their mind. In my opinion, it's even more interesting to watch. Plus yes there is a live triangle but if you watch the drama on the political thriller scale, it's so minimal compared to the whole picture. I'm guessing it's maybe too disconnected from the usual drama pattern so people struggle to see beyond one actress and her chemistry with the leads ( and cuz the rest is sometimes a little too complex or fast paced idk). But I find really sad that everyone dropped it so far. From what I saw, it's a little bit what happened with A Killer Paradox. Prople hated it bc they didn't see their fav actor that much on screen and because the direction of the drama was different.
Edit* I also liked the 5&6 eps more than the previous 2 eps so I have great expectations for the rest.

Inha is a sociopath and has been one since ever. He used to abuse the little power he had bullying schoolmates…
Nah totally and I get this because both are on my personal top male actors so honestly i'm quite saddened too to not feel huge emotions towards those episodes even if their acting kills it. It's actually a shame we have to look for things that are actually "not bad" instead of all being amazed by how well written and twisted this drama is considering the potential. May the people who worked on it take accountability because they made mistakes either in the FL cast choice or in the making process. There's definitely a lil disappointment no matter what. Let's see how next half goes.... i'll keep my eyes open.

Yeah maybe as Huiju said one time, he was going to sit at the family table thanks to her. She maybe is a kind of bridge between the life he wanted to have and what he ends up with. Those are interesting points you made that's why i kept replying ! I'm sometimes an apologist for characters who became antihero because of society or because they were treated badly by their closed ones. Not saying everyone deserves that arc but it can sometimes nuances a little bit the story. But afterall it depends of their own decisions so yeah this one won't have a happy ending I'm sure indeed. I do hope we'll get more past / background scenes for the main characters though in the next eps.

When I said psycho i meant Huiju should maybe avoid type of guys who wants to be at the top of the world. 😭 But I agree with what you said, even towards Inha i feel that he sometimes is hesitant or has regrets. He respected every choice even those who hurt him the most so we know he cares. I am not blaming him at all. I only meant that badass girl doesn't need a man to shine.
But if i go your way regarding family and feeling, Inha loves his sister and all his "beach trips" could also be interpreted as someone caring and in pain in that world ? Tbh I like that we have two types of mind here. Maybe one is trying to do what is right I give you that but I don't really watch the drama with that duality. I find interesting when it's a little messed up.

That's a fair reply and I agree. I wasn't trying at all to make excuses for Inha's behaviour, I don't have sympathy for him tbh I just find his character interesting on the thriller drama scale. I wrote the whole review with no feelings. Maybe went too far saying he wanted a friend but that's how I interpreted his actions after they made the pact together. And i do think he is not emotionless. I am not sure there is a side to pick here but Taeoh isn't clear as water to me in the sense of , even if they don't use manipulation as a tool to go through their goal, he won't show the whole picture or the next step to others.

You guys got me way too invested for a drama i don't even care about 😭Im gonna try to write without spoilers but I kinda disagree with all negative reviews and don't like how hating on the FL becomes a trend so i thought i'd share.

Firstly, i don't think there are good guys here. People want to run with Taeoh but he is the one who started it all. When he met Inha, he showed himself as manipulative and even worse than him. He pushed Inha's mind to dream bigger if he wanted to be seen etc. Then instead of becoming friends, they became partners. And im writing this with a bittersweet taste in my mouth because i love their dynamic and i wished they would be bffs but yeah... no. I believe Inha wanted a friend and someone to rely on or care about at that point. Then I think Inha became more and more insecure and pissed bc he knew he was going to lose at the end. Just like at school with Hyewon, he was losing and had to steal her in a way. I think he will always use a trick at some point.
Taeoh also chose this place to live right next the Kangoh villa (Gastby vibe lol) , we don't know exactly his past yet and I think he is the character with the darkest mind and we can't clearly see his real intentions. I don't bite the "I live for you to be in the top Inha" theory. He would crush anything on his path except for that dumb woman.
He and Hyewon had this talk at the beginning with the "in 10 years we will be where we want to be" and Hyewon said that Inha won't be part of that life.
Still she decided to use him by cupidity, revenge and selfishness just like Taeoh. They only go on to get revenge of their past. In this way I believe Inha has some reasons to be a little psycho as he knows he'll forever be the one people want to be gone, starting with his own family. With that said all 3 characters are evil lmao and i think that's the point. There is no hero.

And yes I love male leads duets, male dynamics are my fav things in drama to the point i sometimes wished there was no fucking woman and that they would date each other lmao. Just like in Worst of evil, i think "love" or obsession would be their loss. And it's frustrating but we have to go with it.

Regarding Hyewon character, I am not that shocked by her acting. Yeah it seems off and empty but I do like to think it's her character ? Afterall she is pretending in front of everyone so what else she could be but fake ? She is. I do wonder why those two dumbass loves her though lmao. And yes it's annoying as hell but even if sometimes i'm triggered with that acting there's no excuses with that hate she receives be serious guys. I don't like her bc she has barely no personality but why sending the actress hate messages like she is ruining Jaewook / Junyoung career pls.

For the ones saying Taeoh is poorly written bc why the hell he would be that smart and cold blooded but would be dumb for that woman, I also think it's to show that everyone has a weakness and for him it's her and it's love. It's not out of character even though i am not fond of love triangles.
I like Huiju but I don't think she should end up with Taeoh. She deserves way better lmao. I hope she will get more screen time and her main character moment. But i think she should just destroy her crazy family and disappear lmao. I really love her dynamic with Taeoh though and the garage scene was wild BUT girl don't be desperate for that psycho.

Finally, regarding the complexity of the story. I understand quite okay what their plan is and what they are trying to do. The only thing blurry for me is the economic background. Kangoh has many members and firms and it's hard to get everything bc it's fast paced and for example i struggled to understand what was exactly the manipulation trick on ep5. But overall i get it. Plus I think that the writers want us intentionally confused. And yes it's frustrating because we are used to pick a character and support him, have pity for him etc but in that drama we can't because we don't know their deep mind and motivations.

Another strength of this drama for me is its cinematic. I loved many scenes bc they were well made. I love the camera shots, aesthetic, and ost. ML acting is so good and supporting actors are also good.

I am curious if what is going to happen and even if sometime it's not pleasant to see a scene 4 times to get everything, i don't wanna give up yet. Also it's good that ep 6 ended with the start of ep 1 like finally. I hope the next half will be great otherwise i'll apologize for that comment lmao. But for now, i don't rely on the omg what a poor writing trope. Bye 🫡🤭
