Urgh I hate the 2nd lead. Waiting for him to like that sec girl so he won't disturb Mo Mo and Wei Yi.
Same! I wonder what his deal is... I'm only up to ep 2 but he's really getting on my nerves. I've never been so frustrated with a character. What is this hot and cold behavior and also the way he's avoiding her feelings is so hurtful like why not just pull a bandaid and get it over with urghh

Over far too quickly for my liking. Character development happened too fast. Its hard to fit it all into 2 hours…
personally i think she's the most lovable yuan xiang qin idk why, i've watched all the versions except the more recent taiwanese one but jelly lin was just too cute! they have really good chemistry and i agree that the story kind of picked up towards the end only because they stuffed all the happy things at the end *sigh*

omg can someone translate the love letter please?!!!!!!!! i'd be very grateful (╥﹏╥)
omg i was watching it at the theatre, had to open my eyes real wide and summon my long-forgotten chinese reading skills lol i skimmed everything bcs i can't read that fast

the first section was basically her saying i'm not sure if you remember who i am but we met here and yada-yada-yada, basically introducing herself and confessing to him...

then after that there's that bit with the decision tree, the first question is do you want to be my boyfriend? branching off to yes - yay you have me as your girlfriend, no - aw are you gonna be that cold-hearted... then the rest basically just points to her being his girlfriend.

after that she lists alll of her social media and phone number, specifically saying you can contact me 24/7

then it's her 'profile' name: Yuan Xiang Qin, hobbies and interests: Jiang Zhi Shu, goal/dream: marrying Jiang Zhi Shu

just a vague translation since i cant remember much else lol

I watched the first few episodes but decided I'll watch it when the drama's finished bcs Chinese dramas have a tendency to kill their leads ???? Will 10/10 watch for Xing En tho, totally surprised me when she came out dressed in male attire and acted so masculine, girl crush!

I was never really a fan of Thai lakorns until I got bored and started watching Aomike dramas because I couldn't get used to the language. BUT, I recently find myself leaning more towards Thai dramas than Korean dramas because Thai dramas have more cute scenes in general and I watch dramas to distract myself from my singledom, lol. There's more PDA and I find that they focus more on the romance aspect, like they don't forget the leads are actually dating and still slip in some kiss scenes. Korean dramas generally don't have much skinship and it's all in the subtle gestures, but sometimes a girl just wants some sweet, sweet, cavity-inducing skinship scenes, alright?

I recommend Mario Maurer's Crazy Little Thing Called Love - an old movie, but it was my childhood and the whole of Asia at the time went crazy for him. His current drama is so good I still haven't dropped it.

As for boran dramas, I haven't ventured much outside Thong Aek and Bhoop Phaeh Sanniwaat, if anyone has recommendations, please!

Very interesting article. Thanks for writing it. It is rare for a female lead to be obsessive, since she is dealing…
I don't think that's the case with the dramas you mentioned at all. The female leads of the ItaKiss adaptations are always 'obsessed' with their love interest because they're young and innocent. The story itself always highlights being young and in love but as seen in more recent adaptations, the female lead matures and tries her hardest to become someone equal to the male lead. It's a very far cry from being obsessive

Posting three of the same comment is plain ridiculous. :)I agree, you can't rate the drama on one episode, so…
On that I completely agree, it does seem super advanced for the current world of technology we live in, but I guess for the sake of this drama I'm just gonna go along with it lol Because if I were to point out the impossibilities of putting GPS tracking, AR and maybe even wi-fi onto a pair of transparent, pliable contacts it'll be such a turn off and I might miss out on a possibly revolutionary drama. I'm so looking forward to something like that in the future though - a fully immersive integrated gaming experience

-I feel like the "exploring the room" bit was a take on many classic cinematographic movies such as Barton Fink,…
I guess we're too used to rude girls who don't know their place and starts screaming at guys in a way to 'stand up for themselves'. I on the other hand found it refreshing that PSH cried because it seems fitting with her character. She runs a tiny hostel in a tiny place in a foreign country. The town itself is probably friendly and she probably grew up around friendly people. Most of her customers are students and she's probably not used to people screaming and shouting at her. I get it, he's in the wrong too, but you can't expect everyone to react with spite immediately when faced with injustice. Some people stand in shock, some people cry. They'll get around to the scolding later. Just because she cries doesn't mean she's a crybaby and just because she's a crybaby doesn't mean she's not gonna fight back

Sincerely, someone who cries when faced with injustice but pulls herself together before the person guilty gets away with it

I honestly don't find the muscle reaction far-fetched at all? It's the same reaction you would get from someone playing VR. AR interacts even more with reality especially here where it's literally directly connected to your vision and your surroundings. The things your body can do, especially when related to your vision, should really not be underestimated at all

I honestly had to stop myself from including it in every section, I even erased it from the "cinematography" section…
Damn, I wrote a long-ass comment on this yesterday, but maybe I forgot to press 'post' lol... I don't remember what I wrote, but I do remember typing something about the costumes too! Honestly, they put so much effort into the costumes (watch the behind the scenes where the design team talked about the costumes, you'll have newfound appreciation for the drama, I swear) and YES, the CG of this was just amazeballs *cough cough Bpoop Phaeh Saniwaat *cough cough
