Oh god but FL is such a hypocrite. So much tragedy could’ve been avoided if, when her brother abused a woman for the nth time and resulted in her death, she had done the right thing by handing him over to the authorities. SFL would’ve felt justice was done for her servant and also believed that FL had changed or maybe was innocent. She wouldn’t have had to resort to trying to frame FL’s brother, and then to assassins. FL’s brother would be in jail but not dead. Etc., etc. I laughed when FL was crying at her brother’s grave because THE IRONY!!! That’s what we call karma!
This seems to be an unpopular opinion, but is it just me who’s getting annoyed with the FL? She has a plan to get the ML to like her, then throws it all out of the window in a moment of (unjustified) anger. She says that TTJ is good to the citizens (who don’t care who’s king) - and honestly, he is - then runs off to betray him to his enemy. By the way, XL also lost my sympathy the moment he went into what he knew was a losing battle just to fulfill an order - are the lives of those soldiers not lives??? They’re just there for you to throw away? I don’t even hate YBC that much anymore because all I’m thinking is that our FL really deserves it, she needs to get her shit together.
But the ML’s acting is still keeping me alive in this drama. :)

I think it’s kind of fun to imagine what would’ve happened if the carriages didn’t get switched. If Qing Kui went to the heavenly realm, she would at first have a polite but distant relationship with You Qin. Then, maybe one day she stumbles into the place where he was cultivating and realizes that he’s cut off his emotions from himself. Since this princess is very kind but no pushover, maybe she teaches him about warmth and the true meaning of courage.
Ye Tan would go to the demon realm, take one look at the third demon prince, put things together, and come up with a plan to blackmail him for something she needs. Maybe he threatens her back and here comes the enemy-to-lover trope that I love. :D They have a lot in common as they were both abandoned by their families when young, maybe she meets his mother by accident and they start getting closer through that.
If they have a spin-off with something like this, I’d definitely be watching lol.

Completely agree, unfortunately this time the FL has stepped over the line of being too bratty for me. She seems to be completely spoiled and has not matured at all, if anything she got even worse over the first 6 episodes. The actress isn't doing much to make the character likeable either.
Never have I been so glad to understand Mandarin...love love love the chemistry between the 5 main characters. One of my favourite ML's of all time!!! It's amazing how his expressions can go from playful to stern perfectly. Hope the subtitles get better so other people can enjoy!
I'm on episode 4 and I kind of ship the FL and the SFL together LOL - they fit so well in terms of personality (FL is outgoing and outspoken, SFL is reserved and calm) and look so pretty as a couple. This is some new type of second lead syndrome...

I’ll never forget the scene when the mother, right after giving birth to the FL, came outside and said to leave the girl behind.
The old lady of the house is clearly sexist - could the FL’s mother not have known, when she treats her daughter-in-law with contempt? Is it possible that the mother never suspected the FL would be mistreated, especially when she never received any letters being written to her once the FL was supposed to be educated? Could she not have bribed the servants at the house to keep her updated? Asked a family friend to check in?
I can’t believe she had the audacity to come back and act as if all of FL’s “bad habits” were not a direct result of her own failure. Neglect is also a form of abuse.
Words cannot describe how much I adore the ML and FL. They play their roles so, so well - I had almost given up on Chinese modern romantic comedy dramas (which often oscillate between cringe and more cringe), but this is such a gem!!! I'm a woman and I would totally date the FL LOL. Aside from the ex-boyfriend, there have been very few outright annoying side characters so far - even the SML and SFL who are chasing the FL and ML respectively have just been kind of comedic in a rather cute way. Really hoping it keeps this up - can't wait until they officially get together because I've seen both the ML and FL in other dramas and their kiss scenes are superb. ;)

If they needed to reach the bridge anyway, why did they start a fight with the woman before they got there, instead of waiting? Even the police wondered why they took action before and basically changed their plans. That whole struggle was just so damn risky - literally if one of the passengers missed a little the bomb would have went off. Another inconsistency here - in the last attempt all of the other passengers suddenly became people with extremely quick reactions and super agile, when previously they had been rather unreliable. Makes no sense unless they were also in the loop.
The series is overall very good, but can someone explain to me why, in the last episode, instead of screaming at the driver to stop (which, as evidenced. DOESN’T WORK), they didn’t just say RIGHT AT THE START “Hey, I know the truth behind your daughter’s death. If you kill us now, you’ll never find out!”? I don’t quite understand why they had to go through the exact same struggle as before, it’s like their intelligence and reasoning just went out the window at the time when it’s most critically needed.
Admittedly, I did cry my way through the last episode, but I don’t see this as a tragic love story. As Deok Im said, some days are good and some are painful. But all loves and lives are like that. At least, they had an (albeit, in our eyes, short) time when they were happy together. And it’s quite clear that, in the end, both of them made their own choices and by their own will. This, I think, is enough.
I’ve watched 6 episodes of this and I think I’m in love - haven’t laughed this hard in a while. Is the drama full of tropes and cliches? Yes, but this is tropes done right. The FL is actually smart and witty - and not in an annoying way. The ML is the cold CEO type - but he does not, and I repeat DOES NOT suffer from facial paralysis! Wow! He actually has (often hilarious) expressions and reactions, particularly to the FL’s antics. And the cast - omg, not to sound too shallow but can we say eye candy galore? How did they manage to get all these people together???
P.S. Does anyone know the name of the actor who plays Qian Cheng’s older brother? He’s kind of growing on me.
I know the SML seems to be rather menacing, but I find him so INTERESTING. No cliche love triangle here - I initially thought it was going that way and am very happy to be mistaken. I’m enjoying all the characters in this drama - even the evil ones - because they’ve been fleshed out so well. Hope it keeps up this momentum!
