Can't believe that today is already the 2nd friday and saturday that went by without TRS T^T.... I tried watching Junho's old drama, to be specific rain or shine... I wanted to fill the gaps but can't believe that every time he makes an appearance on screen, i'd quickly get lost in the thoughts of him as Yi San.... how I miss seeing him and Deok Im ...gosh TRS got me so bad.

Title The Red Sleeve Spoiler
After the drama finished I saw so many people "recommending" newcomers not to watch the final episode, ignore…
Exactly! Despite the ending being a bittersweet one, it also holds essence and meaning, it opens viewers to the real reason why all this time Deok Im had been rejecting Yi San and why she never liked the idea as being a concubine/consort. Also, it shows how strong their love is for one another, like what you had said San's "love me". There is also another impactful scene, when San saw the pouch Deok Im made and the apology letters he had rejected. Ep 17 clearly showed what Deok Im sacrificed, her lost and gains and that is one of the important factors which gives emphasis and makes viewers realize how difficult life back then for women. How chained they are, how they lost themselves, their freedom, and how their opinions or feelings never matter especially if you're a court maid. So, basically not watching ep 17 just cause it's not a happy ending is losing the whole meaning of TRS and the love story of Deok Im and San. Like c'mon not all stories are bound to be a happy ending, even if it is not a happy one doesn't mean that it's a bad one or that drama would suck. The qualities of a great drama should never be based on 'happy endings' but rather the beginning and whole journey they have been through.

Mood. It's been a week for me but here I am still feeling so empty. I tried watching beloved summer too... it's…
Yas! He looked good in those fits too. Honestly, love all his outfit on him, he is so handsome. The way he had so many outfits, meanwhile Deok Im barely even got to change throughout ....

It's been 48 very, very empty hours since finishing Red Sleeve. Now I've been filling it with Our Beloved Summer…
Mood. It's been a week for me but here I am still feeling so empty. I tried watching beloved summer too... it's good but trs still stuck in my mind. Definitely love the black and red outfit which he wore on ep 9, he looked super handsome and hot there.

It's been a week since TRS ended but i'm still here feeling so empty 😭. I wanna re-watch it again but i'm reluctant to do so because the ending and that pain it brought me still lingers. Wish there's a reset button to forget everything so that I can re-watch and go through it all over again. This is honestly the first ever drama regardless of genre that got me stuck on it the longest. I usually get over dramas i've completed within 3-4 days if it left impact on me, with TRS it's just so different.

Title The Red Sleeve Spoiler
is hong deok ro evil?
He could actually be considered evil, but he isn't totally very evil because he had never done anything to harm Yi San atleast. He was just too blinded and power greedy plus he took advantage of other people ever since he was young, like the time when Deok Im ripped the page from the forbidden book for Yi San, he lied about that and took credit for it. The most evil thing he ever did was kidnap court maids and torture them to the point some of them might have possibly died.

Right! tbh though, i'm not usually the type to do research on dramas/movies that are based on novels or that have real history elements included in them but trs made me read about the real history of King Jeongjo and Consort Uibin, heck I even watched an explanation about them on yt plus read the epitaph King Jeongjo made for Uibin. Even Junho is suffering with us 🀣 he said on an interview that he still wants to film...

may I know which episode does the leads will become a king and queen? im open for spoilers
Yi San will become King Jeongjo on episode 12 and as for Deok Im, she won't really be a Queen but rather a concubine and then her rank will upgrade to 1st rank and she will be known as the Royal Noble Consort Uibin on episodes 16-17.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one having post series depression 😭 I can’t watch any dramas y’all
You're not alone! i'm currently watching 'our beloved summer'. I said i'll watch modern dramas this time to fill in that emptiness I felt after TRS ended but I couldn't even get past the first episodes, not because it was bad but I kept thinking about TRS and can't barely focus whole time... like at the back of my head there's yi san and deok im. It's been 4 days since i've finished TRS, but all i've been doing is coming back here to read new reviews or comments then going back to twitter to read meaningful and suprising threads about TRS, then going to youtube to watch their behind the scenes or listen to the osts... idek how long i'll be this way huhu

Title The Red Sleeve Spoiler
Wait in ep 16 did he really go to the queen and sleep with her that night? It’s bothering me…
They didn't really specify wether he slept with the Queen during that night when he already knew Deok Im was pregnant, all that was ever known is that he went to the Queens quarters as she had never been able to bear a child of her own. The way I had interpreted that part on ep 16 is that he just went there to comfort the Queen and not totally sleep with her, and I think that is really all that had happened because on the next scene Yi San was seen at Deok Im's quarters as she was asleep. Plus, it wasn't also made known for how long Yi San had been there by Deok Im's side. So like, after comforting the Queen that night, he must have went to see Deok Im only to find her asleep, then he waited for her to wake during what seems to be the break of dawn. Another thing i'd add would be the fact that Yi San only loved Deok Im, I doubt that he would do such on a day when he received a good news, he knew doing that would hurt Deok Im. That is just my 2 cents regarding that.

happy ending?
It's a bittersweet ending, but I could tell you it is worth the time and emotions. Their love story is so so beautiful πŸ₯Ί

I cant believe that there were people who called lee Seyoung ugly and not so good at the start of the drama, as…
They definitely are blind for failing to see how brilliant of an actress she is, just with her facial expressions especially her gazes, her eyes, she was able to fill them with so many emotions that we as viewers could easily connect with in each of the scenes in the red sleeve. For me, that is one of the many reasons why she suits Deok Im the best, I can't imagine any other actress than her. I mean, there are a lot of talented and skilled or rather veteran actresses in kdramas, but Lee Seyoung, she's the most suitable and perfect fit. The way she had brought Deok Im or Uibin to life here is the proof. She has so many good points as an actress, i'm proud she is getting 'finally' the recognition she had long deserved. I've watched her other dramas as well, not to be biased, but she has long been a great actress, a hidden gem. Her role here, as Deok Im brought out more of her potential and talent as an actress, to those blinded people, they had missed out on such a talent. Plus, her personality is something to applaud for too...i love how she is as both a person and actress πŸ’—

Does anyone have a compilation of all behind-the-scenes of the redsleeve plus the unreleased scenes? πŸ₯Ί
On The Red Sleeve Jan 4, 2022
The way I keep coming back here just to read new comments and to reminisce over the scenes of the drama. It is truly hard to move on, i'm barely moving on, I can't bear or focus to watch other dramas as of now, as the red sleeve kept popping on my mind. It is just so binding, as if I were the one in their shoes lol. How to move on from such a gem? A well-written and brilliantly portrayed/acted drama? A drama that can't be compared to others for the uniqueness of its plot and the many good points it had. Plus, the heart-wreching lines, the silent but very meaningful exchange of gazes that held deep emotions or their bittersweet love, or maybe, the beautiful cinematography. All in all knowing that there were pieces of reality in this drama, 'they' were real people. Sadly, we can never find another drama as precious, real, and beautiful as this one. The Red Sleeve definitly is the best saeguk drama to have ever come to existence, if not (for others), it's a drama worthy of ones time and emotions. I've been a kdrama fan for 9 years, i've seen many tragic or bittersweet endings and cried dozens but I had never cried so much or felt pain so deeply as how the red sleeve had made me felt. It truly broke me, it's the best.
