I'm not going to write a review because I'll admit I skimmed this, mostly out of curiosity to see something else Gun was in. It was disturbing, and after seeing the sexual acts depicted in this, I can't figure out what the fuss is over with other shows. Of course, this was not a bl. There was no romance in this at all, just sex and violence.
Only fans is normally a site for porn. This is the first time i have heard of a series being on there. But the…
I see what you mean. I guess that one can't exactly be called a bl, but I didn't see any warnings. I could only skim through it because it was too brutal for me.
Uncle Thee is dead. Good. Didn't like the bastardPretty sure Porsche's mom is still adopted like in the books…
For a split second I thought Pete was going to tell Porsche that the minor dad was the one who hurt him and that Vegas had nothing to do with it. So Porsche would kill Vegas's dad. I would've been okay with that.
In all these eps, I've thought...will the pool scene be in this one? Then, in this one, I wasn't thinking about it at all and...BAM! Aside from that, I'm just sitting here trying to digest. That was a lot.
Seriously 5,8? It only has 2 episodes... .Anyway, i can point in direction of several other BL show that has a…
Maybe it's a case of people rating them early then never changing the rating? For instance, I thought Physical Therapy was pretty good until about half-way through.
There's at least one -- Kim's ex and his new bf look like they're going to be part of the story. There's also…
In the book, the secondary couple is Baiboon and Kom. They have a huge age difference that I hope they changed in the show because it was kind of creepy. Itt and Day were not a big part, but maybe the show changed that.
I am really trying to be fair and impartial with my feelings about this show. When I started watching bl, I quickly realized they were a certain way and I would just have to ignore it and enjoy for what it is. But recently things have started to change. Every so often you get a little gem. Still, I can handle a chaste bl. Just not when it's supposed to be sexy. I also have to take into account that I read the book, and am always a little harder on shows when I've done that. AND I am watching KinnPorsche, which is also mafia but should be held as the gold standard for various reasons including funding. With these things in mind, no, I don't think the show is AWFUL. I've certainly seen worse. But I wouldn't rate it better than a 3 out of 5. The casting of Yoon as Kamol (mafia guy) was a poor choice, mainly because the actor has such a baby face. But I can ignore that. Can a baby-faced, not physically intimidating guy inspire fear? Maybe. But Yoon isn't really pulling that off. I get very distracted by the fact that his bodyguards are much more intimidating than he is, so it's frankly laughable when just the sound of his footsteps inspire fear in the people around him. More than that, Yoon doesn't play bdsm dom well . Either the actors or the production company don't want to do passion (NOT asking for KP passion levels here, just believable lovers), and someone's dropped the ball--either scriptwriters, director, or both, in the way these scenes are presented. An example would be this--the scene in the club where Kamol comes onto Kim. There is definite sexual tension there. Good. I will ignore the fact that the director lets the water continue running in the sink and it's a big distraction. The scene is hot, but then we get this really weird fake kiss between the two leads. And I do mean fake. Their lips are nowhere near each other. Then, in Kamol's apartment, we get another sexy scene where they prepare to go to bed together. IMO, the scene should have stopped there and we could have filled in the blanks because what we got was a very disjointed and unbelievable sex scene lacking passion and coming off more as a comical punishment scene of some sort. And it isn't just these two. The actors playing the Itt and Day have a bedroom scene in which they strip while exchanging tiny, closed-mouthed kisses. All I can say is at least these actors aren't keeping two feet of space between them as we see in shows such as Painted with Love . To make things worse, this scene is interspersed with flashes of Kim at home crying and the whole thing comes off as just really cheesy. Another issue is the tattoo on Kamol's back. Why does it look like it's a gang tat that he tried to have darkened out? It's not attractive at all, and I don't understand why they couldn't have done something a little neater. I have seen much better tattoos on many bls. This seems a small detail, but all this adds up in terms of believability and aesthetics. Props to the writers for not making the secondary couple as icky (as far as I can tell so far) as in the book, where there's a huge age difference . I'm pretty sure that in the book Baiboon is 15 and Khom 35-45, but don't quote me on that. We'll see where that goes, because Khom definitely pushes the envelope on consent in the book, particularly since Baiboon is so naive. I don't want to dislike the show. I don't want to dis the actors, especially Yoon. I just think that with a little thought, the director could have made the show a lot better. There were better GMM picks for the part of Kamol. I also feel that if the company didn't want a very sexualized production of the book, they should have dropped the bdsm aspect, which really isn't important to the plot except as a way to bond the two main characters. OR they could have left it off-screen and let viewers imagine it. Would have been a lot sexier. They sell it as a very sexy story and it falls way short of that. Having said all this, I'm not dropping the show, and I'm not watching just to laugh at it. I'm interested enough to watch. It's about a 2.5 right now, but I expect by the end I'll give it a 3 out of 5 rating.

The only one I've seen out of those is The Dangerous Drugs of Sex, and that was so over the top--I forget where I watched it, but it was definitely uncut. Oh, and another limit-pusher was Pornographer.
I would've been okay with that.
