There was a gf in the novel. She came much later. Remember, she came to Kamol's house and tried to break up him and Kim. I think THAT's when Kim went to Day's, not early on like is happening in the next episode.

I'm sure episode one was better for having no sex scene.

They are pretty much going by the book, although the book explains his feelings for Day a little better, and I feel like they're changing the order of somethings. I know the gf didn't come in until much later.

When he was washing his face, I was thinking, "Mafia bosses worldwide prefer (name of product here)." lol

Episode 3...was better. I'm warming up to it some. This episode I noticed the music that a few of you mentioned--it is sort of annoying. Like, Italian mafia music. The product placement--well, they can't help that. No love scenes, so there wasn't that to ruin it.

I don't think it would have been a hit. The directing and casting is too bad.

Forget KP. I know this isn't the same. When you watch that bedroom scene with Kamol and Kim, it's all sexy until the moment Kim hits the bed, and then suddenly it becomes like a farce. And if two actors aren't willing to kiss more than a peck, how passionate can the scene get? Why the avoided kiss in the bathroom? Why the tiny smooches? To me, the show feels like it's been thrown together. With a little thought, the director could have made it good. As it is, it's entertaining, but every time I find myself getting into it, they have another ridiculous scene and ruin it. I'm still watching, but I am genuinely disappointed after reading the novel and anticipating its release. I never for a moment put it into the same category as KP.

Feel lucky you didn't have to see that bed scene.

I agree with everything you said. I read it, too, and as soon as I saw Yoon, I could not believe they cast him for the part.

But TT had good acting and directing. The scenes some objected to were straight from the book and acted well, whether problematic or not. There weren't any scenes that would make you lol when they are supposed to be serious. (The bdsm scene in UN is so unbelievably bad in...everything.) And although I don't love Check Out, it is way better done than this show.

Well, yeah, change the whole plot and characters, and the two guys would be fine together. I agree.

I agree that the bath scene was nice, the bathroom counter scene was nice (except for the running water), and the part where they undress is nice. But the actually s*x scene was downright laughable, and they aren't even kissing.

Yeah, the actors can't help it they were given a bad script and directing.

Honestly, I am not comparing. What is so bad about this show is the casting of Yoon as Kamol because he's too young, too sweet-looking, and too short, and the bad directing. The whipping scene was comical--I would have rather they just left it to our imaginations. This is advertised as a sexy/passionate series, but the kisses are barely there.

If I rate it this early, I change it if it gets better. Or worse.

I didn't realize it was only 20 min. long when I watched it. I thought this was episode one of several. So I was rather disappointed when it suddenly ended. Cute, though.
