I need someone to explain to me what is happening to Li Jie in the illusion because I am losing braincells trying to put it together: whose life is he relieving? How is he related to butterfly demon? ep 15 at 35.30min, butterfly demon sees a flash of the past of himself yelling after Xizai (his brother?) and it looks like JiLing/Chi Wei...are they brothers? Why does Jiling/Chi wei/ Xizai has so many identities I cannot keep track of all of them lol.
Also, am I getting it right that the JiLing Luwuyi fell in love with in her flashback(the one she erased her memory of), was Chi wei when he was young and innocent, and not one of the puppets? But then, when does the Xizai identity takes place....I am getting so confused?
Ok, I'm finally up to date. I think the Spirit World is my favourite part of the story, but the relationship is really impacting my enjoyment: She knows that Yan is volatile, but is still "shaming" him in front of everyone to protect the ML.....and ML is really annoying me, like boy, you are no one here, just stay still and stop causing trouble. I think I am in the minority, but the romance in this drama is the part I like the least, I dont know if its the chemistry between the actors or the way their characters act with each other, but something is just not hitting for me. A shame, cause I really like both leads characters separately.
Completely different from what I was expecting (I did not realize it was a transmigration plot), but I am really enjoying it! The FL is great, the ML is a super green flag, and I am already saying it, if something happens to her nice uncle I am going to crash out!
Well well well, I am loving this! FL is great, as of now her interactions with ML are fun and cute, ML a bit bland but I am expecting him to open up and getting more interesting when we learn more about his backstory. Also cinematography and costumes are very nice! And I am really liking the set designs with the more "cramped" rooms, really suits the fantasy vibe :)
I think I may be in the minority here, but I think this drama is super overrated. I started watching it with a lot of expectations, but other than a couple of episodes, the rest i was pretty disappointed about. The first 10 eps was a struggle to push through: I found their relationship at the beginning very awkward and I was just embarrassed for her for most of it. After they got together it was OK, but I really did not feel that much of a chemistry between the two. The couple of break ups and getting back together was just annoying. like girl, he is in his 40s...if you explain the situation he can make his own decision. And then the finale, I was expecting it. What I was not expecting was that i did not even shed a tear, I just did not care. I don't know if I wasn't vibing with the actress or something, I just didn't care. Also, the mother romance storyline...I couldn't care less. Wasted time that could have been spent on the leads relationship.
There were two scenes I liked that I will mention: -The wedding was shot beautifully, I loved how the scene looked. -The scene were the 2ML finds her crying in the street and they have a convo and cry together. That was the only scene where I almost teared up. Honestly, the only emotions I got out of this drama was pity and sadness for the 2ML.
One thing I dont understand is: why murder her uncle, and then wait 10 years to kill the others in quick succession? Did they talk about it and I missed it?
After the first 3 eps, I am intrigued but a bit confused. Is a Baize goddess a mortal with magical powers? Like a pristess of some kind? Or do they have a longer life span than normal humans? The FL said to Zhuo Yi Chen that even if he was in his 40s she would still be his Aunt. How old is she supposed to be?
ep 5 got me very annoyed. I was promised a smart and badass FL, why is she being stupid? Why is she having to get saved over and over by the ML? I hope she gets better or I may drop this out of sheer annoyance.
CX is my favourite character but this last few episodes all of interactions with XY are like a comedy show, I keep laughing at him poor guy - CX:*super happy face*you were sad when I got married? XY: "yes, but you still my best bro anyway" - CX: "i love you, and i will drive away all the other women in my life" *gets karate chopped in the neck* XY:*too drunk to even realize what is going on*
I was hesitant to start this one, because the main actress is not my favourite. But she was great in this one, especially towards the finale where she had to act more emotional
Great first half, but disappointing second one. Started off amazing, but once the main characters discover what it is all about (at around ep 15 almost everything is revealed and the rest you can easily guess) it becomes a bit of a drag. Would have preferred if the story would have focused on them actually playing the game to the end (instead once they discovered the truth behind the game it became a whole different thing) - I would have actually liked if how the game existed was left a mystery and they never interacted with the tech company.
Props to the main FL, which was amazing during the games in the first half and was actually smart (not like a lot of FLs I see in Asian dramas). Romance was there, but did not feel much chemistry in the lead couple, while the second leads were very cute.
After ep 1: the editing was kind of choppy with some weird choices ( music and the scene after their fight were he runs after her - it looked like an anime). Some of the dialogue is also kind of stilted and unrealistic. Only one ep came out tho, it could be that they are rushing through a lot of things to get the plot going.
The story is different enough that I am intrigued, I'll check out the next eps and see if it improves

Song Zu Er looks so beautiful in this makeup
