ep 17 has got me in a puddle of tears and i already know its just going to get worse

pacing is very slow and ive thought of dropping a few times as well. each little story/plot line lasts a few episodes and some stories are def better than others for sure. im half way through now and eps 13-17 so far have been the best ones yet.

i wish we got a scene where the studio officially finds out about their relationship. the scene in ep 25 where she pulls on his sleeve was good but give us a happy one too pls

i dont believe he felt wronged just because FL stopped chasing him but more so because he had no intention of getting with the 2FL and FL is the one making the decision for the both of them. yes, he couldve spoke up at that moment and boldly confess his love and try to give her some reassurance but (1) they were only at a good spot for about a few hours at this point, pretty much just the duration of the car ride to the airport lol and ML is not the type of guy to just casually be like i love you or i want to be with you and it would have been very out of character if he did. I think the best case scenario would have been for ML to at least say he had no intention of getting with the 2FL but of course then there wouldnt be enough drama

(2) FL is the one chasing him the whole time and decides to stop and push him away (and of course that is all in her right to do as she pleases). ML is accepting her decision (angrily). then FL is crying at the airport saying to her manager I think I messed up because she knows she jumped the gun and that she is the one pushing him away. i dont think that necessarily means the show is portraying her as wrong but she does have to live with the consequences of her actions.

for a show about translating different languages, there sure is a lot of miscommunication lol. although there were many scenes where i am begging them to just use a their god damn translator phone app but then they would throw us some captivating moments like when our characters are able to speak unapologetically, in their native tongue, about their true feelings knowing that their secret is still safe. i think this pretty much sums up the show, at times beautiful and melancholy but also frustrating.

side note, i would love to go to every single place they filmed because the cinematography and the beautiful scenery was just insane.

playing a little devil's advocate here... why doesn't he have a right to be upset? he's upset that one minor conflict (?) pops up and FL is running away which we all know is because she's insecure and thats how she copes but from the ML's pov, FL just drops him like he's not important so why doesn't he have a right to be upset?... and for the record here, i think they are both very frustrating here

exactly! i consider the ML to be intelligent and sophisticated and i would think that he should know that she needs medical help and not just him to leave for her to be happy and not have hallucinations anymore

yes thank you! those that do not love the drama should also feel welcome to critique a show (given that they are respectful and give thought and perspective in their critical thinking) and not automatically called a hater

i would say 8.6 is high considering the highest rated cdramas are 9s.

1. the college eps and that group dynamic is very strange besides the one or two girlies who are actually the FL's friends. what was with the silang side arch and why was that necessary? i dont remember whose bf that was but he was drinking with 2ML and he said that his gf is only with him because she couldnt find anyone better, like what kind of pity party is this?
2. if the sole purpose of the 2ML's character is to be pathetic then they knocked it out of the ball park. they showed bits and parts of their college days where she confesses her love, them randomly cooking in the kitchen (?) and the money borrowing part but overall we don't really see much of their interaction and so still not very sure why FL liked him. if they want to say it was love at first sight when she opened the gate, sure lol
3. they never actually showed us the moment when FL and ML first meets. we see the moment when FL stands up for her mom at the party and catches everyones attention including the ML which is when he falls in love with her at first sight as well. ML mentions a few times that their very first direct interaction also at the same party, when he was introduced as Vincent in a group by a mutual but we never see that. maybe because FL never comes to remember this moment either that they never show the audience either?
4. i would of loved if they fleshed out the relationship between the FL and her father. theres a lot more potential there
5. nothing wrong with it but i did find it funny that they literally flew through 15 years in the last ep

binged it and of course its cute and all but the story line is a little weak and leaves me with a lot of questions. if you are only watching for the cute fluffy romance between the FL and ML, I can see why its rated highly.

what a great story with great characters. my heart aches knowing this is based on real life and the inhumane hardships people had suffered during those trying times

it is a pity shows like this never get the recognition it deserves on MDL

first impressions, we have a pair of naive dorks who are madly in love and just keep on getting scammed lol

i love a slow burn but this is lacking some umph.... the only good things this drama has going on is that the actors are nice to look at, no conflicts or misunderstandings, and everything feels very warm and cozy. these are all still good things and yet it just feels bland. you are not missing out on anything if you skip this.

while i dont agree with fan and it pains me but i dont think i can fault her either... if manman had talked to bi zhi directly, do you think he'd go to battle regardless, out of gratitude and loyalty to manman and wei shao? but then again throughout the whole drama, bi zhi never really has made any decisions on his own accord and honestly portrayed as a simple unsophisticated stablehand only.

the scene between manman and fan was top tier, is there a right or wrong....

this show is so unserious lol.... yes it is kind of funny at times but then it just gets so ridiculous

is it just me or for a medical drama, they don't actually practice a lot of medicine? our first year resident class spent the year mostly charting and fighting with each other lol
