It's on like Donkey Kong now! Hwaiting Chilbongie! I really loved how intense YYS was in this episode. He was freaking shooting lasers out of his eyes! I just love this show, and I love Chilbong even more than I have in previous episodes.

I've put this on-hold until the end. For now, I'll just read the recaps. I can't take Shin-yeong anymore; I've tried, but no...just no.

There is not enough time in my day to do that, but I will say this: the point is that this show was not supposed to be about politics, but revenge. Each moment of torture, of government repression of the press, of the scenes when they lured "comfort women," all of these are political. Politics is not only wily men sitting in chairs and planning particular acts (like Ueno Chairman does), it resides in each and every aspect of the drama. The poor village is the politic; the control of the police is the politic. In a totalitarian government, everything is politics and linked to an ideology. Thus, with the knowledge that I have of totalitarianism and of colonialism, I can firmly say that both existed in this drama, just perhaps not in the way that you imagined.

You've only watched 14 episodes, yet you try to justify saying that there are no political aspects to this drama? There were plenty. I could write you a list, but I doubt you'd read it. Plus, the drama is a revenge drama; never once was it necessarily considered a political drama. The politics underlines the story above; just because you don't see it doesn't mean it isn't there. Of the horrors that you say aren't there? Have you actually been watching what's been going on to the people in the story? It seems to me that you've been so wrapped up in the chemistry between the leads to focus on anything else.

The MAMA awards are preempting Friday's episode, so episode 11 will air on Saturday. I think that's why we got two long episodes this week.

So, although I'm a NaBong shipper to the core, I appreciate all the characters in this series. My favorite character is Samcheonpo. Perhaps it's the sight gag or the age gag, but I really enjoy his character. I also was pretty awkward when I started college, so it's possible that I identify with that side of him the most. I get super frustrated when people say he should get off the screen because he's ugly. It's like they don't realize that the point of this show is a slice-of-life, and that all of the characters are important. Plus, unlike 1997, I believe SCP is a completely well-rounded character rather than just comic relief. I just love this show period, and episode 10 was daebak on so many levels. :)

Viki commenters were saying it was a giant heart, but I couldn't see anything, lol.

I'm on Prednisone for my chest issues and doxycycline for the antibiotic. I've had these problems since I was a kid, and because I don't have tonsils or adenoids, this risk for respiratory infections increases.

You're not terrible. I usually attempt to get better myself because I don't have insurance anymore and the cost is outrageous. It's just that this year, I've been having the combination infections (ear and sinus) and they need harder medicine to cure them.

I'll hopefully be better soon now that I have some medication to nip this in the bud. :)

I'm still feeling pretty yucky. I'm going to go to the doctor in the morning to see if I've guessed it right; it's probably a sinus infection. I've let it go too long, but when it costs 85 dollars just to go to the doctor, well, I do what I have to do.

It's alright. Though I'm sure people will speculate that about the show, considering that they supposedly had half of the original 24 episode run finished in pre-production. In some ways, cutting it now doesn't really make a lot of sense if they have so much of it (purportedly) done. Even if tvN says it's not to do with ratings, I don't doubt that it has at least a little bit to do with it.

If you read the article it states that they want more episodes to cover post-occupation, so they are hoping to get a second season to do that rather than try and put it all in the last six episodes of the show.

I think that's due more to editing than anything.

That's kind of unfair to say. Just because Chilbong hasn't known Na Jeong as long doesn't mean his love is any less. Similarly, just because Trash has known her longer doesn't mean his love is any more than Chilbong's--different, perhaps, yes, but more, no. That's saying that only people who have known each other for years can fall in love, and that's clearly not the case. Just because Chilbong has suddenly fallen for Na Jeong does not negate his love for her. You can tell he loves her, regardless of whether or not you want him to.

Almost everyone in episode 9 annoyed me. That episode felt like an hour and a half, not 59 minutes. I still like the show, but the episode, blah. The only exciting thing for me was YK finding the diary.

From what I understand, everything after 1945 will not be covered now. I was also looking forward to that as well.
